one day some of you will actually go outside and go to pride and you’re going to meet old black queens who refers to themselves as femme, you’ll meet people from small towns who still use the word transsexual, you’ll see that your local activist organization set up a stall about your local LGBT history that includes leather bar’s history, you’ll see lesbians in groups refer to themselves as “guys” and “boys”, you’ll see someone with breasts and pasties and little else have “he / him” painted on his chest, and you’ll be so caught up with your terminally online attitude that instead of appreciating the wide diversity of people who exist in the LGBT community who are brave enough to share themselves you’ll just be formulating posts and tweets in your head for when get home about how “problematic” it all was and it’s honestly tragic

Please stop trigger tagging with #epilepsy tw/cw/warning/etc.
I need every single person to understand how horrible tumblr’s tagging system is
I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.
Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.
Here’s proof of what I mean:

THIS POST IS 100% OKAY TO REBLOG, I ENCOURAGE PEOPLE WITHOUT EPILEPSY TO ESPECIALLY DO SO!

corporations trying to profit off of queer people by showing their support for only one month of the year is bad
and
it’s fun to watch conservatives get pissed that they can’t shop at target anymore because the big bad rainbows will corrupt their children :(
and
the existence of rainbow capitalism in the first place proves that society is now in a place where supporting queer people is the more profitable and thus more popular opinion and that means something
are all viewpoints that can absolutely coexist

I would write a mile long post about this but apparently that's difficult to make. If you want me to elaborate, I will, but just know that tumblr formatting is horrible.
Feminism doesn't work if it's not intersectional. If you exclude anyone from how systematic oppression works, then you'll erase someone's oppression, and that in itself is a form of oppression.
Feminism and the fight against the systematic oppression of womanhood will never exist in a vacuum so don't try to explain to me that you, or your group is the only one affected because it's not.
Queer women, women of colour, trans people, men of colour, disabled women, gnc women, queer men, anyone associated with womanhood is affected by the oppression of women. That's why if your feminism is not intersectional, it won't actually work.
Even the "purest", "truest" woman can be misogynistic towards other women or those associated with womanhood. The fact that we have to even debate that some women are not "real" women is just misogynistic and fucked up.
If your feminism isn't intersectional then it won't help anyone and it will hurt the people it's supposed to protect.

it’s so wild to me when ppl say aroaces are “basically straight” or “straight by default”. i’ve NEVER been romantically and sexually attracted to a man in my whole life. that’s not straight. HOW is that straight? just because i’m also not romantically or sexually attracted to women either? being straight doesn’t mean you AREN’T attracted to ppl of the same sex, it means you ARE attracted to ppl of the opposite sex. i literally don’t know how else to explain it. i have as much in common with straight ppl that lesbians do, which is nothing.
i’m not out here asking for shit except to not be referred to as straight. that’s all i want.

I love how when I was younger I thought I could go to hell for swearing so i’d apologize to god for that, but somehow it never occurred to me that being gay could be a problem. no internalized homophobia here!
