Hot take that I may be about to regret, but I think the greatest problem with "trans people are brain intersex" is not a question of neuroscience but a sociopsychological one.

When I see perisex trans people pushing this idea it's never in service of, or to stand in solidarity with, the intersex community. It's basically only used to deny one's complicity in intersexism, and/or speak over the intersex community (such as by playing into the dangerous idea that a biological aetiology for transness would be a good thing that would make transness "valid".)

The idea does not get used or pushed in good faith. It's like white people saying "we're all African" because humanity evolved there. It's technically but vacously true. What it really does is evade grappling with white supremacy or colonialism. It completely ignores that African or black is a category of social experience more than a set of physical traits.

Intersex is a category of social experience. Laying claim to this label in this way gives away that a person cannot be bothered to learn about the lived expereriences of being intersex nor to get involved in the community.

"Trans is brain intersex" is bad because instead of creating solidarity it actively undermines it.
