this was the last time nora was going anywhere with mateo, he was too reckless. she couldn’t believe he was putting the blame on her, she has never once done anything wrong in her life, and even if it had been her fault, at least she would have admitted it instead of putting the blame on him. “because you fucking pushed me up against it!” she replied, angrily. “it’s in my back pocket, did you bring yours?”

"ooo, baby. i thought you only swore when you were bending over for me," mateo retaliated with a shit-eating grin, if only out of spite. is he making the situation worse? definitely. did he care? no. to him, eleanora was a goody-two-shoes and well-behaving simply wasn't an attitude he carried. "well, obviously, but i have no reception here." he could only hope his lie would stick and she wouldn't ask further.

With Niels beside her, Scarlett found herself completely content. She’s grown so used to having him with her that she was actually starting to find it hard to sleep when he wasn’t there. She was pulled from sleep when she heard a phone ringing and for that split moment she thought it was her boss calling her to tell her she’s late again, panic ceased when Niels reached over and silenced it. “Think everything’s okay?” With what happened at the carnival, she could only imagine waking up and seeing one kid not home would send Hayley in a panic mode. A sleepy laugh emitted from the girls lips, “Yeah you keep saying that. But you still come.” And she was glad he did, she left her window unlocked just for that reason. Goosebumps kissed her skin as trails across her skin, a small hum at the sensation teases her lips. “Have anything fun planned today?”

"yeah, she's probably just wondering where i am." after hope's disappearance, the mikaelson's have been on edge, and so was niels. scarlett was his escape, and it's no surprise he'd seek her support through all of it. sneaking into her house to sleep was for him, a silent request. he needed it. "she's just... weird after hope's disappearance. i'll call her later, it's fine." he'd shrug if his position wasn't so comfortable, though it didn't stop his mouth to slightly ajar upon her joke. "hey, you keep leaving the window unlocked."  "lacrosse practice, but that isn't fun." he rolled his eyes. did he even like the sport? likely only ever enjoyed the violence of it. "are your parents home? we can just stay over and listen to music on your shitty bluetooth speaker," he offered. "hell, i'll even dance for your amusement." with that, he stood to his feet on her bed - careful to not step on her, but chances are he would, with fingers snapping rhythmically and hips beginning to move awkwardly.

“you may be a young vampire, little boy, but i’m a witch and i can take you down without even blinking. pick your battles, kid.” katherine was no bennett witch, but she knew how to hold her own. “the keyword there is almost. if being a mikaelson was really as big of a deal as you think it is, we wouldn’t be here having this conversation, would we.” trying to refrain from using her magic against her nephew was hard, but she knew that if she did it wouldn’t end well. as niels sat down, katherine dropped her fork on her plate and pushed it to the side, her appetite gone. “have you really got nothing better to do?”

"oh, i just pick all of them out of spite." niels' smile grew wider. in all honesty, he was pleased with his instigation. he simply wanted to get on her nerves and it seemed like he succeeded. "it's a matter of semantics, really. while, sure, you managed to fool some of them. but most of the time you got away with it because uncle elijah is a simp and saved your ass. he would kill and die for you. just like those salvatore boys back in the day." a pause. "hmmmm," he considered as his index finger dipped into the pool of ketchup on her plate, only to suck it off later. "no. i don't. besides, i don't mind spending some quality time with my auntie."

eleanora has never really needed friends, she’d always much rather prefer her own company, rather than the company of other’s. “maybe so, but it’s not my fault none of them are at my academic level.” she teased, although there had been some truth to her words, her only true friend since childhood ditching her for someone else because they had always been jealous of her and how well she has always been in school. as the male took her book, she frowned a bit, trying to grab it back but failing. “hey, i was reading that!” she reassured him, arms crossed. “you sure we won’t get in trouble?”

niels couldn't help but make a face, rolling his eyes. "god, i hope you're funnier when you're drunk." though, deep down, niels related to it. it was hard to find someone who matched him, and he found it in scarlett - she was the only one at his level. "not anymore." he forced a smile, lifting the book from her reach, waving it around as he continued, "c'mon, nerd. trust me. i know the bouncer. just... live a little."

jack knew santana in school, but she wouldn't really consider them friends. santana was older and hung with a different crowd. and jack, well, she was a mean freshman tip-toeing into dark magic, too egotistical and arrogant to pay attention to anyone else. still, it felt strange spotting people she spent practically her whole childhood with on the streets or in stores and not saying a word to them. sometimes a quick smile would suffice, but not now, not when they'd made eye contact. "santana, right?" she knew the other's name, but it was more fun that way.

mysic hills' town square was the perfect place to be at this ungodly hour of the day. to jack, though, that was a better time spent in bed. it was only a promise made to her sister the day before - and what the hell had she been thinking? - that prompted her to stand under this weather. "please tell me you brought coffee or i'm leaving." the complaint sounded like whining, really. but in her defense, she had a really long night. "why did we have to meet this early again?"

it was an unprompted visit to the other’s apartment. one jack is hoping will be made slightly more welcomed by the bottle of whiskey she had stolen from her father’s collection. she’s not sure why she makes such an effort when it came to penelope - maybe she admired the hell out of the older girl, or maybe she was secretly attracted to her sister’s ex-girlfriend - whatever it was, jack certainly was trying; donning a leather jacket and killer eyeliner. she doesn’t knock, instead she pulled out her phone and let her fingers go to work on the screen as she leaned against a tree. you have 30 seconds to come outside or i’m drinking all this whiskey by myself, with a selfie with the expensive bottle attached under it.

katherine was well aware that her inclusion in the mikaelson family didn’t sit well with some. she’d had her issues with more than one member over the years, that was no secret, but for the most part she’d put it behind her. there were times where she did feel some unease around certain people, though she never made it known. “well aren’t you just charming today. i personally wasn’t a fan of being dead, it was awfully boring, but everyone feels differently about it. if you’re interested, I’m more than happy to help you get a taste of it. of course, i can’t promise that your experience would be temporary like mine, but that would probably work out well for the rest of us.” she said with a shrug. “are you done now? your presence is making my food taste bad.”

niels definitely enjoyed poking fun at katherine. not only has she lived through enough to pique his interest, but her wits matched his. “that’s adorable, it really is. but you forget you’re old, and wrinkled, and slow, and i’m an eighteen years old who triggered his own vampire gene. i’m young, i’m fast and i’m smart. also, i’m a mikaelson. you should know better to threaten a mikaelson. haven’t you almost died by my family’s hand enough?” though finally, he slid into her booth, sitting across from her. “well, in that case, i’d absolutely love to join you, auntie. thanks for the invite.” a pause. “so, go on, eat.”

the dark haired witch rolled her eyes as she listened to the younger male in front of her, “you are so dramatic,” stassie decided to pocket that information for later, knowing that there was no way she was letting that go. 

niels’ arms crossed against his chest. he was now in defense mode and simply wanted to get out of the situation, seeing as he couldn’t punch his way out. after all, he quite liked his cousin, when she wasn’t picking on him. “and you are extremely annoying.” he casted his cousin a roll of eyes to match hers. “can we please focus? you, dying, let’s do it.”

“i need it but you don’t have to drink it as well,“ keeping the answer simple and short as she begun to lead them in the direction of her apartment, not letting go of his hand. hope knew that it meant something by taking a hold of his hand but she wasn’t sure if she was ready to face that particular truth yet, “uh, sure. the couch is quite comfy,“ 

“are you implying i can’t handle whiskey?” roman questioned jokingly, mouth slightly agape in feigned shock. “that’s great. it’s only for a night, anyway. at least you won’t be alone tonight.” mindlessly, his thumb traced soothing circles into her skin as they walked.

one thing that pandora had learnt early on in their friendship was that roman had no personal space. remaining unaffected, she took another sip from the bottle. being his best friend for so long meant that she knew it wouldn’t take long for him to crack and offer her something she wanted.

roman sighed, leaning upward so he could catch her eyes as she took another sip. still cold eyes. “c’mon, dora. how long will this silent treatment last?” he begged, once again. though, by now, he settled for bargain. “i’ll do anything, i’ll run to the store right now and grab you wine. i’ll go grocery shopping this week. hell, i’ll even do the dishes.”

a smirk appeared on piers’ face as he took the beer from roman.  "you could if you wanted to,“ then he took a sip from the bottle of beer, "but i wouldn’t.” his relationship with pandora was complicated. he probably shouldn’t have been in a relationship with anyone back then.  it didn’t really stop him in the moment but he wasn’t exactly that same person.  

“it’s not that i want to,” roman began, taking a sip of his beer. “it’s just - i feel obligated to. you broke her heart, man. you weren’t there, i was. and now - i don’t know how that talk went, but if you’re trying to come back into her life again, just because you can, then i have a problem with you.”

“i am surprised to see you still in town and not mounted on a wall like a prized deer,” the dark haired witch smirked at the other male. penelope never had any sort of issues with roman present or prior but it didn’t meant she couldn’t tease him.

“hey, don’t you give them any ideas,” roman quipped. though, in all honesty, he too was surprised that didn’t happen yet. living in a small town with vengeful mikaelsons wasn’t easy. “if klaus mikaelson hears this, he might just go through with it.”

there was no way that remi was going to turn down some time with her dad or a plate of loaded fries. "there’s nothing really wrong,“ she said as she started picking at the fries. "just overwhelmed. with moving into the new house and the school year ending for reed.” not to mention work. it was a lot to be handling by herself right now.  

elijah snatched a fry, casually flipping it into his mouth. “raising children is overwhelming.” after all, he knew. while he is married katherine, and she loves her children, she wasn’t much of mother material. “do you forget the mother you have? katerina left most of the tasks to me. can you imagine her changing a diaper? truly, i can’t recall if she ever did.” though, it is mostly a joke. “how’s he? have you told him he will be getting cousins soon?”
