     Today marked the third time in one week that Nea had snuck into the Hope’s Peak school kitchens for baking. Normally she would’ve entered alongside Miyu, whose talent was the Ultimate Baker; a tall girl with the best baked sweets in the country, Nea was allowed in to help her from time to time. But, technically speaking, she wasn’t supposed to be in there alone. And yet - here she was. A bowl of cake batter, already mostly finished, to her right. A carton of eggs, a gallon jug of milk, and various items for sugar art to her right. The oven preheated to a suitable temperature. She was working on a cake, and from the size of the bowl, it wasn’t going to be small.

     No, not small at all. Her ambitions were for a MASSIVE cake! A cake so huge that when all the layers were finished, it would be four feet high! A cake so huge it would feed the students for a week! But even she thought it possible she was dreaming too big. Miyu could do this, no problem. She was sure the Ultimate Cook among her upperclassmen could as well, even if she had never met him. Though she did vaguely remember someone saying he liked being called a chef instead? But Nea knew she herself...might struggle a bit more. 

     This simple fact did not deter her, nor did it hinder her resolve! She would just need a bigger bowl! ...or more bowls! And more materials...she had enough for the first layer, but she had to find more! And so off she went, perusing the various cabinets and drawers. What started as a simple effort to make herself a birthday cake a few days late has escalated into an ambition to make a giganto-cake she can share with everyone.

     Just another day in the life of Nea Withers.

     Here she comes! One whole optimist, casually strolling through the dorm corridor with a whole platter of cookies! Ginger snaps made with butterscotch and fudge chunks; she’d commandeered the kitchen for baking again, even though she technically wasn’t supposed to do that, since her talent didn’t specifically include cooking. But this time she wasn’t doing her usual handouts, and she hadn’t headed for the reserve course classes. She didn’t even leave any in the cafeteria for others to snack on later. No, she had a specific recipient in mind!

     It wouldn’t take her long to locate the correct door, and as she approached it dawned on her she didn’t actually know if her friend was in the dorm. But it was a bit late...and from what she remembered, Sophie was usually working on stuff! So she’d knock on the door (to the tune of shave and a haircut), and patiently wait in the hall! The cookies would of course be in plain sight, but her other motive was concealed behind her.

     She has a few dozen flower crowns ready. Just you guys wait! Kamukura, Sophie, Komaru- she’s bringing crowns and Soon™!

hi. cam’s back, back again

          The time until the trip to Japan had been, for the most part, uneventful. Unless one counted Nora’s antics, though as far as Nea was concerned, that was perfectly normal. Her attempt at back-flipping down the stairs, which ended exactly as anyone would expect, was par for the course; she was trying to have fun, and Nea certainly found it funny (at least, once she was sure her friend wasn’t hurt). That was the day before her flight. She’d reached the airport an hour early, not wanting to miss her flight, and brought only what she considered essentials with her. Several sets of clothing, a toothbrush & tube of toothpaste, hairbrush, a few extra hairpins and her dolphin plush, primarily.

          On board the plane, Nea opted to try for a nap. It was a long flight, and sleeping through it was sure to be easier; unfortunately, that wasn't to be. She heard odd, creepy sounds from the back, where the bathrooms were, and it scared her enough to keep her awake for most of the flight. She spent most of it trying and failing to hide in her seat.

          She did manage to sleep through the tail end of the flight, finally arriving in Tokyo. Upon arrival, Nea found she couldn't get out of the airport fast enough - there was so much to see, so much to do! She'd come alone this time, but she'd been working on her Japanese, so she hoped she wouldn't encounter too much trouble. She knew basic terms and phrases, greetings and farewells - she hoped that'd be enough for the time she planned to spend there. Upon exiting the airport, her first goal was simple: explore! She'd been to Tokyo before with her friend, Haru, and she knew well that Tokyo was hard to navigate. So she wanted to roam around, see what happened, what she could find! Opportunity surrounded her, and she didn't want to waste it.

          As it was a bit chilly due to the wind, she'd donned her hoodie from what little luggage she brought, which remained in her backpack. A bright pink hoodie with the hood down, and a blue fleece shirt, adding to fleece sweatpants - she was making sure she stayed warm. She'd also pulled on her headphones, listening to The Ramones as she roamed, eventually wandering into a market. She still wasn't entirely paying attention to her surroundings. She'd not noticed the Aihara just yet, more focused on a shop she'd found selling charms; blissfully unaware of the similar appearance she shared with another pinkette - even being similar in height. It seemed a case of mistaken identity would be inevitable.
