It’s shit being a superhero when you know that the multiverse exists. You spend all day saving people, you’re tired, you want to go to bed, and right before you fall asleep someone says “The High Evolutionary is going to turn everyone on earth into a werewolf!” and every bone in your body says “Fucking. Maybe we can be the werewolf dimension. The Universe Where Everyone Is A Werewolf. There are infinite dimensions where everyone isn’t a werewolf. It could be fine. It could be good even.”

And you fight the High Evolutionary and you win and your world isn’t the Werewolf Dimension. But the thought was there. God the thought was there

did you read an Ao3 fic and want to comment about what you read, whether a specific line or your reactions or whatever, but you're anxious of how it may be received? well, if knowing some possibilities may help:

What to Expect* when you Comment on Ao3

nothing happens externally, but internally your thoughts are essentially puffed into smoke, your feelings have been felt, and you move on with less words weighing you down (catharsis!) – it's like leaving kudos with that physical evidence of you being there, but i find with longer emotional release.

the author responds sometimes rapidly, other times months later. you may get a "thank you" or some more info about the story. sometimes they say how much the comment means to them! or they update and cite your comments as the inspiration. i find it's easier not to hope this to happen (see motivations post) but if you want to have the author reply, i find it helps if you have a question.

another reader responds. extremely rare occurrence, but if they're agreeing with you then it's nice! if this has been after a long-time of "nothing happens", i've been momentarily confused until i remembered the fic and am happy to reminisce or re-read. it has inspired me to reply to other comments that i agree with and we have a tiny connection :>

Imagine how crazy the Red Robin arch was for Dick. Like imagine taking on Batman because your father/brother figure is dead and having to take care of a little brother acting as Robin too. Then Tim comes in and is like "Hey Bruce is alive and lost in the timestream. My evidence for this is a painting from the 1800s that kind of looks like him."

Which is obviously insane of this kid. So you suggest therapy and he runs off and goes rogue. Then he comes back having blown up the league of Assassins and HE WAS RIGHT!?
