Chapter 2
The Baudelaire children lived with the insufferable Poe family as they didn't have much choice. This arrangement was uncomfortable for both family's, as they needed to share a tiny room with the Poe children, which stank.
Even the food was sub-par, with boiled chicken, boiled potatoes, and, just to mix up the wording, blanched string beans, which mean boiled according to the narrator. During the blanched dinner, they were informed that they would be moving to a distance relatives place as that would be more convenient for the Poe family and his name is Count Olaf.
Their dinner was cut short for them to pack up which was jarring, but not as jarring as being woke up early in the morning to be moved, Mr. Poe was dropping them off on the way to work.
On the way to their new """home""" they passed a fountain and a pile of dirt which were the remains of their old home. When Mrs. Poe said "Here we are." the children looked out, and they saw the prettiest house on the block. A glimmer of hope stands there in form of a woman, Violet shakes her warm hand and introduces herself with the others. The woman introduces herself as Justice Strauss, she was questioned on her unusual name and she explained that it was a title for her position on the high court.
When she revealed she wasn't related to Count Olaf but his neighbor, and the Baudelaire children looked over from the nice house of Justice Strauss, to the dilapidated one next door. Sunny, the baby, said "Oh!" but he meant was "What a terrible place! I don't want to live there at all!"
They went over and knocked on the door with the carved eye, and Count Olaf greeted them into his dirty, dark, probably damp home. Olaf himself was tall and thin, his face was unshaven and had a unibrow. Inside I question why would he keep apple cores in a bowl, but it looked filthy anyways. Olaf said that with a little help from the money of the Baudelaire fortune, this place would be fixed up. Mr. Poe informed him that the Baudelaire fortune would not be used until violet is of age.
I don't think he liked this.

Chapter One
The beginning of my adventure, the start of my spiral into madness, and the book isn't helping.
It warns, warns of the book it self, saying the book will not have a happy ending. It also mentions three kids, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. Oh the things that will happen to them, just in the intro their house burns down and they become orphans. (very unfortunate)
On an unrelated note, not relating to the very unfortunate thing that happened, I like how this book intensely clarifies some words. The literature that grade 11 expects me to be able to understand an entire dictionary, or search online to compensate, but this book has children as the main characters and a only slightly condescending narrator. The narrator clarified the use of "rickety" and Mr. Poe, the person who told them that their house burned down and they become orphans (very unfortunate), made sure they understood what "perished" meant.
Anyways, Mr. Poe told them this very unfortunate news and also told that Violet would be getting their parents fortune when she was old enough and led them away.

How t# does tags work, I tried putting a coma and my sentence was split into multiple tags in the editor
Gradient
You may look at my banner and just think it's a gradient but actually it's the book I'm reading, "A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket. I didn't look at the author's name before-hand but that's nice, the banner is the book "The Bad Beginning", and I got the image from Wikipedia. The image kept getting taken down, so I had to compress the image to the point of what ever is up there, so that explains my banner, a copywrited image.
I sure hope I don't get banned.
