The Glass Scientists Ocs: Legacy of Blood and Magic Au
Eugene Hayes -A blonde man with green eyes. He is a craftsman by trade. He and his twin sister were raised by a woodsman and his wife, after the woodsman found the abandoned infants in a forest. -Eugen can build anything from furniture to small toys. Nothing large like designing ships or houses. -Eugene has a somewhat of a carefree personality but will get serious and protective of his family and loved ones when he needs to. -He had a spiral birthmark on his shoulder. -Eugene has a criminal side business. He has the ability to learn about people's hidden and darkest secrets through skin contact. He uses that knowledge to blackmail people or sell off information to a buyer. He won't expose anyone's sexuality. He will expose cheaters. -(information from my friend eris on discord) He has an illness that doctors and healers believe is fatal. That there is no cure. Eugene, his partner Charlotte, and his sister Iris have no idea that the cure for his illness lies with the genetic traits of one of his biological parents. -(It's only a strange coincidence that he happens to look like the Spirit of London at night...right) Iris Hayes -She is the twin sibling of Eugene Hayes. She also has blonde hair and green eyes. -Iris is a mind witch. Unlike her brother, she practices her magic and has stronger powers. She cannot read people's minds through skin contact. She can heal just about any ailment with her magic. -Iris is frustrated on why she can't heal her twin brother's illness. -She has interests in science, mainly she wants to research different types of ailments and curses and hopes that she can use her magic to help people who suffer from either scientific or supernatural illnesses. -Iris also has a strong sense of justice and wants to treat people equally no matter what their background is. -She isn't a part of her brother's criminal activities, but she doesn't discourage him from stopping. Iris would only interfere if her brother put himself in danger. Iris has bailed her brother out of jail plenty of times before. She loves him but is also annoyed when he gets himself into consequences. -Iris has a flower birth mark that wraps around her right wrist. It's usually covered by gloves. Charlotte Danforth -Charlotte comes from a wealthy middle class family. They are a type of magic practitioners called shadow witches. She and her family practice dark magic such as possessions, curses, hexes, and other bad stuff. -Charlotte hates if anyone refers to her family as a cult. It is more of a secret coven that do business dealings to anyone who wants to mess with dark magic. -She has amber color hair and hazel eyes. -Charlotte is lawfully evil. She does have close bonds and people she cares about, ex. Eugene and Iris, and her family (and a few others later on.) But she isn't above murder, torture, and harming someone with her magic. -She is Eugene's partner and they have a close relationship. While she doesn't participate in Eugene's crimes, she does support them and "takes care" of anyone who tries to harm him or his sister. -While Iris doesn't entirely approve of Charlotte's use of magic, she is glad Charlotte doesn't actively target people and won't hurt innocents. They actually get along swimmingly and have respect for each other. -Despite not visiting them often, Charlotte does have a good relationship with her family and they approve of her travels and relationships with Eugene and Iris. She does write to her family whenever she can. Though she doesn't send them in a usual way. Ex. One letter was contained in a still beating heart. Don't ask where she got the heart from. -Charlotte can see ghosts and spirits. (Even spirits attached to people) As far as Charlotte is aware, Eugen and Iris are twins triplets adopted by a quaint, hardworking, and warm couple (Charlotte was created by my friend Eris at @unhingedexperimenter who gave me permission to write about her on tumblr from discord)

"Yeah, I know. Who would've thought?" Henry definitely wasn't happy with learning that information at all. "Oh, that poor boy. No wonder he copes in such a way. To have a father like that man." Henry shook his head at that. Dr.Two-Brains was surprised by how his boyfriend reacted to finally getting the picture. The villain quickly apologized to the poor employee and finished ordering their food. Henry was now in deep thought about his student. It didn't take very long for them to receive their food. Dr.Two-Brains paid for it, and they left for the villain's warehouse. "Shockingly, the kid is still much better than Calvin. That's for sure. He might be a pain in the neck, but he's nowhere as insufferable as Calvin. The only reason I can't stand him is pretty much because he kept flirting with my daughter when she's WordGirl." The mad scientist huffed. "He actually makes an effort to get along with others unlike that prick. I'm shocked that he actually listens to you. You have a knack for making an impact on others." Henry really wanted to help the kid now. Perhaps find another way to direct his anger and frustration through other means. They just about arrived at Dr.Two-Brains when Henry spoke up. "Dearest, you said that you needed to speak with me about Lucian. What was it that you had to bring me here to speak about?" The mad scientist's eyebrows furrowed at the question. "You'll need to be seated inside the warehouse when I do tell you. It's not something you'll want to hear or believe, but please. Trust us." That made the teacher's stomach twist up. It must be something really serious. Dr.Two-Brains parked, and they got into the lair where the four were waiting for them. Alan was with Hugh, holding onto his hand. They all looked grim and angry. Hugh still looked quite shaken up from the counter. "He's here with me, guys. Henry, please sit on the couch." It didn't take Dr.Two-Brains to tell him twice to do as told. Henry seated himself upon the couch. They all exchanged knowing glances, which only fed into the dread the teacher had been feeling. Dr.Two-Brains sat beside him as the others surrounded them. "What about Lucian? Did he do something?" This made Hugh frown, avoiding Henry's gaze. "Something like that, yeah. Last night, Hugh was alone at his apartment while Alan was out making his rounds about the city. During that time, Lucian showed up at Hugh's door. He wanted someone back from him. While Lucian did, in fact, receive said item back. He had noticed Hugh tampered with it. Lucian wasn't very happy with that." This made Henry more curious by the moment. What did Lucian want? Tamper with what exactly? "Lucian tried to force information out of Hugh with violence. If Alan hadn't shown up, our friend would've been hurt from it. The item that Lucian wanted back from Hugh was HJ7, your formula. He claimed that Robert sent him to fetch it. Hugh also said he felt the same wrong feeling coming from him, yet much worse. It was much more intense. He wasn't happy to see Hugh take some of the formula from the vial Robert left. We don't think Robert is a bad person, no. We're not saying that at all. He might not have any say in any of this. I'm so sorry, love. We believe that Lucian is Robert's version of Hyde.” Henry's face was drained of color, his blood ran cold at what his boyfriend revealed. Not only confirming that Robert did in fact ingest his formula but had been continuing to do so. As well as knowing that Lucian had attacked an innocent person because of the formula. That means Robert's counterpart was willing to resort to violence. Did this mean Robert was repressing a violent nature of some sort? He hated to think of it. “Robert…and Lucian are like Hyde and I?” His tone was confused. “I'm afraid so, Henry. I'm so sorry. I wanted to tell you gently. You deserve to know what we found out. While Robert himself might not be a threat, Lucian has made it clear that he was one. We didn't want to spring this on you so soon but you need to know.” Hugh spoke up. “He wanted to keep the formula a secret from you so badly.”

Henry felt devastated for his oldest friend. "That's absolutely horrible. I can't possibly imagine what Robert is going through. Even though he had issues with his father, this would no doubt affect him greatly.” His heart ached for Robert. Having lost his father due to a murder. Who could've done that? Was it the same person who attempted to kill Mr. Danvers Carew with the fire which Hyde got framed for? “You said it seemed personal. Why do you say that, old friend?” The lawyer took a moment to answer. “The murder was grisly and there wasn't anything stolen from the crime scene. It sounded more than just a robbery gone wrong. If it was truly that, expensive items would've been missing yet it all remained. I'm honestly shocked that Robert never told you. You two were always so close. Practically inseparable from college.” Henry looked visibly uncomfortable and solemn due to what his friend had said. “Thank you for telling me this. I do hope Robert will tell me about this on his own time. I won't force him or rush him.” Gabriel nodded at that. “Are you going to tell him?” The teacher seemed hesitant to answer that. “I will, once he has his own problems sorted. I would rather not add onto his problems with my own.” While it was true, Henry also didn't want to make things more complicated for Robert. He knew that his best friend had HJ7 and possibly could have ingested it. Leading to his own soul being split. It would only stress him out which could lead to his possible version of Hyde to get better control over him. It would only serve as ammo Robert's counterpart could use against him. “That is quite understandable. You two have been through a lot. Also considering the incident with your former employee. Mr. Hyde. It's been so stressful for both of you.” Hyde felt nervous whenever Gabriel would mention him. It felt like he could so easily uncover who he truly was to Henry. It was why he never appeared around him either. It's not that they didn't trust him. Not at all. As crazy as Hyde thought he was, he didn't want to possibly lose a friend he technically never met. He actually liked Gabriel and knew that the lies Henry kept would hurt the man deeply. It was a shared fear between Henry and Edward. “Thank you for understanding that, Gabriel. Also thank you for helping me.” Gabriel offered him a warm smile. “Of course. I would do anything for my dearest friends.” It troubled Henry. Why didn't Robert say anything about his father? Yet again, Robert did keep it a secret that he had a vial of HJ7 too. Becky looked confused, she had known about the murder of Dr. Lanyons father before he did. She was sure he would've known. Before the young girl could think about it further, she heard a voice calling for her. It was her uncle's voice. She listened to him calling, luckily Gabriel was too occupied with Henry to notice that. She went over to her father and tugged at his sleeve. Making Dr.Two-Brains lean over so she could whisper into his ear. “Dad, Uncle Alan is calling me. It sounds really urgent, I'll be back as soon as possible.” The mad scientist seemed reluctant to let her leave but nodded. “Alright, please don't take too long. Be careful.” With that said, Becky left. The moment she was alone, checking to make sure it was safe, Becky transformed and flew straight to Alan's and Hugh's apartment. She wondered why he called for her instead of going there himself. It must've been something serious. When she arrived, Becky went to the apartment she knew they resided in. Giving the door a couple of knocks before it was answered by Alan. Behind him were the other three of the four. “Uncle Alan? What are the others doing here?” His expression remained stoic. “We wanted to tell you something. We need you to tell your dad to turn his phone on. We have urgent information to tell him. Something has happened. We need to tell him what as well as the information we gained from it.”
Becky looked alarmed at what her uncle had just said. "Does it have something to do with Dr. Barriton?" Becky inquired as she remembered her dad telling her about the blonde scientist. Becky never really met him since the guy was fired when she was a baby. Her dad did describe him as an absolute narcissus and prick who was Athena's cousin. Becky didn't hold it against anyone to be related to that psycho woman since her twin brother Eris was a good person. She held the man's character and lack of morals against him. Alan shook his head. "No, it wasn't Calvin. Have you heard any of the adults speak of a Lucian Bennett?" Alan asked his niece. Becky pondered the question a bit and shook her head. "Not really, no." She answered. "Who is he?" The four looked at each other, not really sure how to explain. Hugh decided to speak about the man and his encounter to a degree. "We are not entirely sure who Lucian is as a person, but we know he is like Edward Hyde. By that, I mean he is the counterpart of someone who took the HJ7 formula." Becky's eyes widened at Hugh's explanation. There was someone out there who had their own Mr. Hyde! "Does Dr. Jekyll know about Lucian?" Becky asked in an urgent tone. The others gave a nod. "Yeah, he is aware of Lucian. He is also aware of the man having his own variation of the HJ7 formula though he isn't entirely sure how it is possible." Jenkins explained. "Listen, Becky. We really need to get in touch with your dad. It's difficult to explain but Lucian had nearly gotten physical with Hugh. We need to tell your dad what we know and what happened. Alan couldn't fly to Henry's house since it would have caused some alarm and we know the others are still recovering from Athena's attack. That is why he contacted you." Patricia explained in a serious tone. Becky nodded as she understood the gravity of the situation. "Okay, I'll get my dad." The heroine then took off back to Dr. Jekyll's apartment. "Where did your daughter run off too?" Gabriel asked. "Oh, she remembered she had to go outside and call her uncle Alan and let him know she couldn't spend the night at his and Hugh's home this Friday since personal things came up." Dr Two Brains quickly explained. Utterson looked surprised at the response. "She had to take her phone call outside." The lawyer exclaimed with a slightly suspicious tone. Two Brains internally panicked. 'Why can't this guy be as dumb as the rest of the civilians in this city.' "Oh well it was special bonding family thing they had this weekend though Becky is no longer feeling up to it. She and her uncle Alan have unique traditions that are not meant for other ears to hear. It shouldn't take to long for Becky to speak with Alan." Two Brains exclaimed. Henry seemed to catch onto the hidden meaning of his boyfriends' words and decided to help cover for him. "It's a strange but endearing characteristic that my boyfriend's family has. They like to keep their personal businesses private, even if it is just regular, family matters." Henry added. Gabriel looked a bit confused but quickly shook it off for now. "If you say so, Henry." He then turned to Dr. Two Brains. "So your brother is dating Dr. Mann?" Gabriel asked Two Brains shook his head. "No, Alan is dating Hugh, but he isn't my brother. He is technically my brother-in-law. He is Becky's mom's sibling." The mad scientist corrected. In what seemed to be a short amount of time, Becky returned inside. "Hey, kiddo. How did your talk with Uncle Alan go on the phone?" Dr. Two Brains inquired. Becky greeted her dad with a smile but Two Brains and Henry could tell that it was faked. "It went well, but he wanted me to let you know to turn on your phone. Hugh and the other four have been trying to reach you and see how you were doing." Becky respond. Two Brains looked embarrassed and quickly pulled out his phone to turn it on. His eyes widened as he saw the missed calls. "Oops. Sorry. I turned my phone off because I was having a conversation with Henry and didn't want to be disturbed." Two Brains exclaimed. @unhingedexperimenter

"Aww, he likes you." Zosi sniffed at Dr.Two-Brains one last time before giving small bark at the mad scientist, wagging his tail. "I think he wants you to pet him." The villain seemed to be hesitant on doing so, but he slowly reached down and petted at his head. The church grim seemed pleased with this, going off back to Amber. Though Zosi kept giving him curious glances, not fully taking his attention off of Dr.Two-Brains. It felt strange to be watched so intently. "Uh, yeah. He's very cute. Oh, did you need more time to get ready?" Henry should his head. "I'm ready to go. Of course." Meanwhile, back at the elementary school, Gabriel had been thinking over the information he learned. It greatly troubled him. What was he going to do? What could he tell Henry? The man had been through a great ordeal. Yet he couldn't keep it s secret. The commotion that cause the building to shake had finally calmed. He hoped that people were safe and unharmed from what happened. He stared out of the window, seeing something in the sky zoom. He couldn't tell what it was, but it was extremely fast. Just what kind of city did his friend move to?

"Yes, he did." Henry appreciated just how much Rachel was concerned for him. He felt bad for making her worry. "I apologize. It was my student again. The same one with the robot. He was worried about me. Tobey stopped his rampage, and his mother collected him again. I didn't mean to make you worry. I needed to get Amber back to safety with Adrian. Speaking of, where is he?" He noticed that the man wasn't around. "He left to search for you." A voice spoke out that startled Henry. Even he was nervous around her after Edwards antics. He tried to hide the flinch, but Lucy had noticed. Yet she didn't say anything about it. Only giving a slight smirk at the reaction. "Queen Lucy." She laughed at that. "Henry Jekyll. It's good to see you in one piece." Henry smiled awkwardly at that. "Oh, Adrian had gone back for me? That's kind of him. Though I was dropped off. I didn't see him while coming in. I hope he doesn't worry too much." His phone began to ring. It was Dr.Two-Brains. "Apologies. One moment, please." He went off to his room and picked up the call. "Dr.Two-Brains?" The mad scientist spoke, his tone sounded off. Hiding his emotion. "Henry, I'm about to pick you up. Are you ready?" Henry smiled, feeling his chest fill with warmth. He was worried about him since Dr.Two-Brains left the other day."Yes, of course. We will be ready when you get here. Actually, would you like to come inside? There's uh a someone I would love for you to meet." He wanted to show Zosi off to his boyfriend. He loved that church grim so much. It would only be fair to have his boyfriend meet his beloved pet. "Of course." They said their goodbyes, and Henry joined the others back in the living room. Amber was giggling and squealing away at Zosi, being playful with her. Rachel was speaking with Lucy. "That was Dr.Two-Brains. He's coming to pick Amber and I up soon. Though I want him to meet Zosi and...Queen Lucy if she would like to." He looked at her. "I would love to." He asked out of politeness. She still scared him quite a bit. A few minutes went by, and the doorbell rang. Henry ran to the door and opened it, revealing the mad scientist in the doorway

It was understandable that Rachel would want to know where Henry was. Adrian appreciated that woman cared for him like she did. "He's uh, still back by the park. Henry told me to bring Amber back here to safety while he dealt with some boy on a robot, causing the civilians to panic. Now that I'm sure she's safe with you, I'm going to head back to make sure he is safe." WordGirl found the robot standing still in the middle of the road. "Stop right... there?" She wasn't expecting to find the boy genius talking with Henry once again. They both looked surprised to see her. "WordGirl!" She wanted to roll her eyes. What did Tobey expect? He goes on a rampage, and she shows up. That's how it usually went. "Dr. Jekyll?" Henry gave her a little wave. "It's alright, WordGirl. He isn't going to cause further destruction. Tobey seemed to be worried, and Mr. Utterson, being a bit distracted, might have upset him a bit." Tobey looked embarrassed and avoided looking her in the eye. "Really? You're stopping?" Tobey nodded. "I was... really worried about Dr. Jekyll. Not that it's any of your business. I won't continue attacking the city with my robits this time." Just then, a car pulls up. Mrs. McCallister got out of that vehicle, looking quite displeased and angry. "Mother?!" Tobey panicked at the sight of her. "You called my mother again?!" He turned to WordGirl, glaring at her. She raised her hands up in defense. "Not this time. She just happened to show up." Henry and WordGirl both watched as the woman took Tobey by the ear, giving it a gentle yank. "I run errands and happened to notice your robot going on a rampage. You are coming with me, young man." The boy genius tried to protest but yelped as she dragged him away. Leaving the other two alone. It made Henry feel bad, though it was just another day for WordGirl. "Are you okay?" She turned to her teacher. "I'm just fine. Though I do worry for the boys' ear." She shrugged at that. "He's used to it. Where's Amber?" She was curious where the girl was. "I had her taken home to safety with a friend. Speaking of, would you mind if I ask you a favor?" WordGirl raised an eyebrow at that. "What would that be?" He looked sheepish to ask, but if he walked back now, Henry would be late for meeting up with Dr.Two-Brains. "Would you be able to drop me off at my apartment?" She blinked at that. "That's it? Okay." Captain Huggy Face had been staring at the vehicle Mrs. McCallister had shown up in. He didn't know why, but something about it made him feel angry and afraid. A feeling that grew the longer he stared. He watched the vehicle take off after the woman got Tobey in the car. "Thank you so much." WordGirl was unaware of what was troubling her sidekick, taking hold of Henry before zooming off to his apartment. If Henry was honest, it slightly terrified him, but Hyde found it exhilarating. It didn't take long to get to the apartment. Henry sighed in relief once WordGirl put him back onto the ground. Tobey's mother was lecturing him, though he wasn't paying much attention to it. His frown deepened at the sight of the other occupant of the vehicle. "Hello, Tobey. It's been a while." The boy didn't reply. All he did was huff and look the other way." Calvin didn't take any offense to this, though. Tobey was wondering why the hell his father was here and why he was doing errands with his mother? They were divorced, and his mother showed Calvin nothing but disdain. Why did that change now? What caused his mother to tolerate the obnoxious man now?

With each passing moment, the ground shook even more intensely. People began to panic within the streets, oh no. That had confirmed both Henry and Hyde's suspicions. It sounded like Tobey was heading their way with his destructive robot. "Adrian, I need you to do something for me. I know what's going on. That isn't an earthquake, but..." Henry didn't get to finish his sentence before that strange man started shouting at the top of his lungs. How on earth did he manage to be there every time? "HEEEEEEELP! TOBEY IS ON ANOTHER RAMPAGE! HEEEELP?" The man ran to Henry, Amber, and Adrian. "Is the police station nearby?" They gave Exposition Guy, the nickname they've started to give him, strange looks. "Are you serious?" Hyde scoffed. "No, it's that way. You better get out of here soon, though." Henry pointed towards the direction the police station was located. "Thank you." He cleared his throat before running off in the direction Henry pointed. "HEEEELP! I STILL DON'T KNOW WHERE THE POLICE STATION IS!" The residents of this city were indeed odd. With Exposition Guy gone, Henry quickly handed over his daughter to Adrian. "Can you please take Amber and get her somewhere safe? I know what's happening. I know how to stop this. I hope. Please, before the crowds start rampaging as well." Adrian was hesitant to leave Henry, but he didn't want his granddaughter to get hurt. So he took Amber from Henry. "I'll bring her back to your apartment. We'll meet up back there. Please. Be safe." Adrian's tone was serious and pleading. The teacher gave him a determined nod. With that said, Adrian ran off. Amber was protesting. "Wait, Daddy!" Adrian felt bad, but he needed to get her to safety. "I'm sorry, little one. We have to get to safety. Your daddy will be fine." Well, he hoped he would be alright. He had to put his trust and faith into Henry. Tobey looked around, anger clear on his face. "Robits! Attack!" Hyde groaned in annoyance. "Great, what's his problem now? He was doing so well until now." Henry agreed with his counterpart. What could've brought this on? Did something upset him? Hopefully Tobey would listen to Henry again like before and they will talk things out. Becky seemed exasperated. It was of course Tobey making a commotion this time. Thankfully no one was around. “Violet, Tobey's at it again. Cover for him again, please.” Violet nodded at that. She quickly took off, fetching Bob on the way somewhere private. Once they were sure no one was around, Becky and Bob transformed. “Word up!” WordGirl took off and followed the trail of destruction that the boy genius had left in his wake. At least Mr. Utterson was unaware of her secret for now. She didn't have to worry.
Henry ran towards the panicking civilians running away from Tobey. “Mr. McAllister III? What is going on here? Why are you going on another rampage?” Henry shouted from a distance. Tobey was shocked to see his teacher come out of nowhere, at the sight of Henry Tobey pressed a button. Making his robot stop. “Dr. Jekyll! I…I can explain.” He seemed nervous, having been caught. “I couldn't stand that substitute teacher. He's just as bad as the others!” Tobey whined and stomped down onto the robot he stood on. “You mean Mr. Utterson? What do you mean he's as bad as the others?” Tobey crossed his arms and pouted. “He's just as scatterbrained as the other teachers we had. He's not like you!” This seemed to concern Henry. He was sure Tobey would've gotten along with his friend.

"Thank you so much. You being around is comforting. I apologize. That sounded a bit strange, didn't it?" Henry couldn't help but feel a strange comfort from the other being around. That it was much safer with him there. He felt embarrassed, but Adrian didn't seem to mind at all. "I'm glad that you feel safe with me around. I promise that nothing will happen to you or your daughter." There was that protective glint in his eyes once more. "You don't need to feel bad. That experience would shaken anyone up." Henry was surprised yet again. How did he know how Henry had felt? "You're more expressive than you realize. I tend to read people more than they'd like. I apologize if that made you uncomfortable." Henry shook his head at that before responding. "It's fine! You don't need to apologize for that. We were heading to the park. I hope you don't mind that." Adrian smiled at them. "Not at all. As long as you two are happy, I'm fine with it. It'll be good for her to have fun after... all of that." They didn't take long to find the park Amber had taken a liking to. Adrian watched as Amber took off for a swing. She immediately seated herself and waited for her father to catch up. The young girl looked up at her father expectantly. "You'll push me higher, Daddy?" He nodded at that. "As far as you know who will let me." He knew that Hyde would be the one scolding him. He didn't like the possibility of Amber falling off the swing and hurting her knees again. "Okay. Why isn't your friend joining us?" Henry looked over to see Adrian watching from a bench. "I think he'll be happier watching you play and have fun." That didn't sit right with Amber. If he was there, why can't he play with them like Rachel did? She allowed Henry to push her a couple of times before momentum had picked up too much. Amber jumped off of the swing. Hyde nearly had a heart attack at the sight. "Amber!" He shouted in panic, despite the fact no one else but Henry was able to hear him. "Amber! What are you doing?" Henry was more concerned than panicked. Having reacted much more calmly than his counterpart. "I'm asking him to play with us. It isn't fair he's just watching. Isn't it rude, Daddy?" He blinked at that. A smile grew on his face, heart melting at his daughter's kindness. She ran off to Adrian, taking hold of his sleeve and tugging at it. "Play with us! The swings are fun! I will let you play with Lucy if you do." The girl pleaded with him, looking up at Adrian with huge puppy dog eyes. His resolve was immediately broken. "If you want me to." She didn't waste any time pulling him to the swings and pointing at the swing next to her. "You can swing there." Adrian did as she said and claimed the swing, giving both Henry and Amber an amused expression. Both men shared a chuckle at the sweet gesture. Henry began to push Amber once more, Adrian idly swinging back and forth himself. Barely getting any momentum himself. “You're supposed to go higher than that. Like I am. See? It's fun! Though my other daddy doesn't like it when I go higher.” He wasn't planning on actually swinging but just to keep them company but it seemed she was adamant on Adrian having fun with them as well. “Alright, like this?” He decided to humor Amber and started to swing back and forth. She was happy to see that.

It made his insides twist up with various emotions. How dare that horrible man take this role that should've been his? Having such a close relationship with Henry and Amber. As if he were their family. As if Donovan didn't steal his life from him. Taking everything so dear to Adrian. Bitterness filled his heart. The only reason Adrian never said one word of the truth against that selfish and greedy man was because of Henry's sake. It made his heart ache so much. Having his lost son dangling there in front of him. Unaware of their true connection. Adrian was forced to go under the guise of an acquaintance and newfound friend. Hatred and anger festered within. Donovan Jekyll, the man responsible for what happened. He was there for the entirety of Henry's life. Feeding him lies upon lies. With Adrian missing every milestone in Henry's life. Though Adrian was relieved to find out his lost son hadn't turned out to be like the one who raised him. Henry turned out to be kind, caring, and brilliant. Selfless when it comes to his loved ones. Henry was happy with his life other than the horrible incident that happened. Adrian couldn't risk shattering Henry's life. Taking it from him like Donovan did to Adrian. So this was the best way he could finally be in his life. It was better than before. Where Henry had no idea who he was. Thankfully, he never once realized that Adrian had been there. Watching from the shadows and protecting him anonymously when he could. Adrian hadn't realized that Henry was his son until he came across an article in the newspaper. It was about Henry's institute. The Society For Arcane Sciences. There, in the picture, was his son. Happy, successful in life. When he found out about Amber. Adrian had cried, a mix of sorrow and happiness. Sorrow for losing out on such a joyous occasion, unable to celebrate with his son. Unable to celebrate his granddaughter. Happiness for Henry to have a child of his own. Amber's voice brought him out of these thoughts. "And this one is Lucy. She's from a nice man. He owns a toy store. I named her after Aunt Lucy." Adrian smiled warmly at her. They are the reason that Donovan didn't face Adrian's wrath. Knowing that they would be incredibly sad and horrified should anything happen to them. He treasured them more than himself. "Mister Barton? Why do you smell like daddy but with blood?" Adrian blinked at that. "What?" Amber put her doll Lucy with her other doll. Handing it to Henry. "You smell like daddy, but you smell like blood. You look like daddy, too. Are you family too?" She asked these questions with such innocence. Henry looked shocked and confused by what Amber said. "I'm sorry, her sense of smell is heightened. She is rather... blunt. Like her mother." He looked apologetic at Adrian, oblivious to what his daughter was pointing out. Henry assumed that Adrian had similar features as him to be completely coincidental. "Oh, it is quite alright.” It was recess time and Gabriel was in the classroom on his personal computer. He looked up the name Oscar Sterling but nothing came up. That made his strange feeling about the man grow even stronger than before. Something in him couldn't get the interaction with Oscar Sterling out of his mind all this time. He knew Henry through the horrible event that happened. Yet the way the man seemed so concerned and caring about his friend, it seemed like there was more to just passing concern. Gabriel also couldn't help but notice him speaking of Henry so fondly. It was… like a familial type of affection he spoke with. While the lawyer didn't think Oscar had any ill intentions towards his friend, he was definitely hiding something. It had been bugging him since meeting the man. Gabriel we clicked around articles to see if this man was featured in any at all. He didn't expect to see that familiar face to show up. Especially since it was an older article. He read through the article, eyes widened with shock. It was no mistake. The man in the mugshot was indeed Oscar Sterling. Though that wasn't the name used. No. This was Adrian Barton.

Henry's face drained of color as he hesitantly took hold of the doll Lucian held out to him. Amber was behind him, peeking around at the other man. She was staring at him with a strange expression. It wasn't negative but rather inquisitive. "Oh, thank you." Hyde groaned at the sight of Lucian. "How did he manage to find his way to bother me? Again! I know he has no clue we're the same person, but what the actual hell! He managed to bother both of us. Now get moving, Jekyll. There's no need to have small talk with him. I don't want Amber around that man. He gives me the creeps. ME." Henry silently agreed with him. He felt rather uncomfortable, but it was clear Lucian wasn't doing anything wrong. In fact, he was doing a good deed. Yet it felt like there were ulterior motives. Henry waved those thoughts away. Why would Lucian have ulterior motives towards him? They've never met before. This was probably just the last time they'd see the last of him. "You are quite welcome. Oh my. You're Dr. Henry Jekyll, aren't you? I knew you looked familiar?" Henry looked at him with shock. They knew that Lucian must have been from London or around the area but didn't know he knew of Henry. "Uh, yes. May I ask how you know?" His sense of uneasiness grew by the moment. "The papers, of course. I've seen articles about that institute of yours. It is quite a suprise to see you here of all places!" Oh. Right. That was where Lucian recognized him. Though it didn't make Henry or Hyde feel any better about this. Amber tugged at his arm. "Oh, right. Here you go, sweetie." Henry quickly gave back the doll to Lucy. She took it and held it tightly. "That man is strange." Henry and Lucian look at each other. He waited for the other to get offended, but the man only let out a laugh. "Children are so funny. What is her name?" Great. He's not letting Henry go anywhere anytime soon. Oh, yes. Her name is Amber." The girl tugged at his sleeve. "Daddy. That man smells funny. He smells like-" She didn't get to finish her sentence as the teacher quickly scooped her up into his arms. "Children, right?" He laughed nervously. There was a brief irritated expression on Lucians face that Henry swore he saw. He didn't know why until someone walked up to them. "Henry! You're alright, I'm glad to see that you and Amber are well." There was a protective glint in his eyes, staring down the taller man. That was the source of his irritation. “Adrian! That's your name, isn't it? I heard that you found Rachel with Victor. Thank you so much for helping.” Henry felt relief with Adrian now being there. Leader of the mad science league or not, he was a welcome sight. Henry also felt like he could be trusted. Though it still confused him as to why he acted strangely with Hyde that one time. He wasn't going to question Adrian now. “Yes, that is my name. I was hoping to run into you again. Oh, this must be a friend of yours.” Henry shook his head. “Oh, we have just met.” Lucians eyes flashed with annoyance. “My name is Lucian Bennett. Yes, we just met but I've heard of Dr. Jekyll's institute and his inspiring work in articles. When we both were in London.” Adrian and Lucian didn't break eye contact from the other. “How wonderful that is. Oh, it seems we are interrupting their little outing, aren't we?”

The canine barked excitedly at Rachel upon seeing her. He made his way over to her and circled around her while giving the occasional sniff. His tail wagged away happily. "Zosi! Henry and Amber will be so happy to see him here. I know Amber missed him terribly. Thank you so much, Lucy." She quickly went over to her table and placed the knife she was holding down. Rachel quickly went and gave the woman a tight hug before picking up the decaying canine. Zosi immediately gave her cheek a few appreciative licks. "Aww, look at you. You must have had quite the trip. I'll get you some treats as soon as I can." Lucy was happy to see her sister-in-law again, yet she still needed to find out what happened. "What troubles you? I can help ease these fears of yours if you would let me." Rachel had a tired smile at that. "Right, I was getting to that. Please, have a seat first before I tell you. It's a long story." Lucy felt more worried. The last time she heard, a strange woman had been bothering her. "Was it that woman? The one you told me about?" She was hesitant to answer. Lucy sat down onto the couch, Rachel seated herself as well next to her. Zosi made himself comfortable on her lap, happy just to get pets and scritches from one of the humans he had missed. Rachel finally spoke up as she scratched behind Zosis rotting ear. "Yes. Well. It turns out she was stalking Amber and I. She was trying to get into my head about Dr.Two-Brains, and I'm afraid I allowed her to do so. Athena Cartwright was her name. She 'warned' me about Dr.Two-Brains. She told me that he wasn't what he seemed. I'm ashamed to say I had Miss Ito look into him. That's not the worst part of the entire ordeal. As I said before, Athena was stalking us. I felt something off and didn't realize why until it was too late. When I was looking after Amber, Henry went to the store to pick up something. Left Amber and I alone. She saw the opportunity to strike. She came knocking at the door, claiming she was there to help. The next thing I know, she forces her way past me and into the apartment. Athena tells me she knows something else about Dr.Two-Brains, and I hesitated when I shouldn't have. I was supposed to be protecting Amber, and I failed at that." Rachel began to tear up, recalling the horrible event. Zosi whined softly at that, going onto his hind legs so he could nuzzle and lick at her face. Lucy immediately wrapped her arms around the other, hugging her tightly while squishing the church grim slightly. This helped Rachel calm down a bit. “Thank you. I hesitated when she said she had the information I wanted to know. She used that to her advantage to get that tranquilizer gun of hers out. I tried to fight but I was much too late. She was quick. Everything went dark. When I woke up, I found myself in Dr.Two-Brains’ lair. His two henchmen were such a comfort. They explained to me what happened and they were so kind. Athena had taken Amber while I was unconscious. So knows what that woman would've done to her if it hadn't been for Dr.Two-Brains and the others. She's no longer a problem. Athena perished during that confrontation but she had someone else working with her. From what they've told me. I was thinking it was the other person, that man who was with her. Thinking he came back for some reason to finish the job she didn't. That was why I reacted the way I did earlier.” Tears fell from her eyes. “Oh, Rachel. You've been through so much. I'm so sorry.” Lucy gave her a sympathetic look. “I'm still jumpy but I won't let anyone pull that on me again. I was ready to defend myself. Though I am relieved that it was only you. I have to admit, I feel much more at ease with you here. Though I'm not sure about Master Hyde. He is still afraid of running into you.” Lucy had an annoyed look on her face at that. “Damn right he should be.” Rachel couldn't help but laugh at that. Of course Lucy still hadn't forgiven Hyde for his stunts he pulled before. Though she won't hurt him now because Rachel made her promise not to go after him.
Henry felt devastated for his oldest friend. "That's absolutely horrible. I can't possibly imagine what Robert is going through.

"I'm glad to hear they're doing much better and that they're safe. They didn't deserve all of that happening to them." It was a genuine response from Adrian. Gabriel nodded in agreement at that. Adrian was genuinely relieved to hear that Henry and Amber were indeed safe. If he ever caught that bastard who helped Athena, even if he didn't actively help her, he still allowed for that to happen. Calvin was going to pay for being involved and allowing that woman to do as she pleased. "I must be holding you up, aren't I? I'm sorry about that. I'm sure you have to go somewhere since you got up so early." Gabriel was still giving him a strange look. It made Adrian feel a bit nervous. He had hoped that he wouldn't be recognized as the leader of the mad science league, and it was just that he had a striking resemblance to Henry. "Oh, yes. I was heading to the school early. Henry wanted to spend some time with Amber at home for a while, so I'm substituting for him. Until he feels it's safe enough for him to come back to teaching his class." Adrian figured that Henry wouldn't want to leave Amber or Rachel alone for a good while. "That's very kind of you." Gabriel shook his head at that. "I am simply doing what any good friend would do. Especially when Henry is kind. He is a wonderful friend and I'm sure he would do the same for me." Adrian smiled at that. It was nice to know that Henry had people looking out for him like this. "I'm sure he would. I won't keep you any longer. I hope you have a good day, neighbor." The lawyer couldn't help but give him one last lingering glance. Something about that man felt extremely off, but what? He knew next to nothing about him. "Wait, I never caught your name." Adrian blinked at that. "Oscar. Oscar Sterling is my name. It was nice to meet you." That didn't feel right. "It's nice to meet you as well, Mr. Sterling. My name is Gabriel Utterson." They soon parted ways, but that interaction stuck in his mind. He had still gotten to school early. Gabriel didn't pay the other teachers any attention other than introductions and explanations. The lawyer set up what he needed to in class. Placing out the plans Henry had given him on the desk. Soon, the kids arrived. Tobey was the first one to speak up about Henry's absence. Frowning and clearly unhappy with this. Unaware of what happened to his teacher. "Where is Dr. Jekyll? Why isn't he here?” Gabriel gave the boy genius a patient smile. “Something had come up in his personal life, so he had asked me to fill in for him temporarily. Don't worry, he's alright. I promise you that he will be back in no time.” Becky was sitting quietly, looking troubled herself. She was glad that Gabriel's attention was focused on the kid villain rather than notice her. Hopefully, it will stay that way. The day went on with no issues other than Becky having to excuse herself to the bathroom a few times. She had expected him to at least raise an eyebrow by the third time she excused herself and went missing, but Gabriel didn't seem to notice that at all to her relief. He seemed to have had something else on his mind. Their substitute came off as absent-minded at first. It was obviously grating on Tobey's nerves. “Great, another teacher who knows nothing. Just what we need. I hope Dr. Jekyll returns soon.” He grumbled quiet enough that the lawyer didn't hear him. It was clear that something had been on his mind and distracting him since morning. Well, Becky wasn't going to complain about it. As long as he didn't notice and realize what was actually going on. She kept thinking about how her father was acting. Becky knew that it wasn't because of the news with Lucian. Something else must be bothering him, but what? Well, she wasn't going to push her father into telling her. Though it didn't stop the girl from worrying about him.
"Ask Robert about his father? I think I could try. I could say that I heard about what happened through other sources so he wouldn't blame Gabriel for telling me. I would rather not have them start a fight because of me. If they speak soon." Hyde knew it was true. Robert would know that someone would've told Henry if he didn't explain how. "What are you going to tell him?" Henry was silent for a moment, thinking over his answer. "I'm going to say that the lodgers sent me some newspapers from London. So technically, he wouldn't have anyone to blame. If he has ingested HJ7, I don't know how unstable his counterpart could be. I don't want to risk any of them with their wrath." Hyde didn't like the idea of Robert going through the same thing they did. He could say he hated the man all he wanted. It didn't make it any less true that he was just as worried. "What do you think his counterpart would be like if Hugh was correct about him?" Henry hated that this was a genuine question. It was one he didn't want to think too much of. "It's most likey what he represses. It could be a number of things. He could be emotional, which could be dangerous. When people act on their emotions, there's often not much room for logic." Amber stirred a bit within her slumber. Causing Henry to gently rock her back to sleep. A hand caressing at her cheek to make her rest more easily. "I think they would be more sneaky. Robert is sneaky and devious when he wants to be. Maybe that's what he represses as well." Henry's expression twisted into an unhappy one at that. "I hope that they won't be too bad. Still, we will have to be careful. We don't know what they could be capable of quite yet." Hyde had let that sink in, becoming quiet.  "What do you think happened yesterday? That made Whiskers go off into our room to speak in private? He was in there an awful long time." Henry's eyebrows furrowed at that. Now he was thinking of it. "I'm not sure. It seemed serious. I do hope that he and Becky are alright. I'll text them after making sure Amber stays asleep." Hyde nodded at that. He was still nervous over that. He had gotten an extremely bad feeling the longer Dr.Two-Brains stayed within their room. "It had something to do with his friends, that I know. Perhaps they found something out, but Two-Brains couldn't speak about it with Gabriel around." Amber started whining softly in her sleep,  her leg kicking away. He got up, with Amber in his arms. Henry quickly located the item. Fishing out a silver dove pin with his free hand. The teacher moved back onto the coach. Rachel was busy in the kitchen fixing up coffee for him. He placed the dove down onto the coffee table and pressed a button. It made the pin open up and played a tune he was quite familiar with. The melody had calmed his daughter's fears, having calmed down immensely. Curling up into his arms even more than before. It made him feel better now that she was resting more peacefully. “It always calmed us down. I'm glad it has the same effects on her as well.” Hyde agreed with that. Soon, Rachel had come out with two cups of coffee, one for him and one cup for her. She looked rather exhausted as well. “Thank you. I'm glad someone is at least getting some rest. Even if it's not us.” Rachel smiled tiredly as well. "As am I. She needs it. Amber is a growing girl, after all." If Rachel was going to be honest, she feared resting herself. Fearing that, she wouldn't be able to protect the little girl once more. The little sleep that Rachel had managed, it was filled with horrible dreams that involved the girl. Unable to save her from Athena. Having Henry hate her for failing to keep her safe. It was unpleasant, and she preferred to be sleep deprived over having to deal with those dreams.

"I'm not sure where I've seen his face before, but I know it's familiar to me somehow. I can't seem to place it. I apologize for bringing it up again. It seemed to make him uncomfortable earlier.” Henry shook his head. “As long as you don't press any further with him, it's fine.” It bothered Gabriel to not know this, the answer was there yet concealed from him. It was a rather frustrating feeling. “Thank you, Henry. It was wonderful to see you again. I'm glad you are doing better now. I do hope that the horrid man will be found and dealt with. You and your daughter didn't deserve what happened. If they aren't able to find him, I could do so myself.” Henry smiled gratefully at his friend. “Thank you but I believe they'll be able to catch him and make sure he doesn't pull anything to anyone else.” Though Henry felt like he wasn't involved with Athena's plan but didn't want him on the loose anyway. Who knows what he could be planning for Dr.Two-Brains. It made his blood boil over how Calvin treated his boyfriend. It felt satisfying when Hyde had scared the hell out of him. As well as decking him. “I should allow you and your daughter to rest. I do hope you have a good night, Henry. I'm off to settle into my accommodation.” The teacher nodded at that. “Of course, you must be tired from your travels. Please, be safe. I do hope we'll catch up more tomorrow.” Gabriel nodded. “Good night, Henry.” With that said, the lawyer headed out. Leaving Henry with his daughter and Rachel. Martin didn't take long to gather the chemicals that Lucian had needed. A small collection of rocks caught his eye. They were all labeled, it was clear they were meant to be studied. He quickly tossed those in with the items that were stolen. “Why, thank you so very much. Your generosity knows no bounds. Your assistance will not be needed any longer tonight but expect me to return for you. Your skills are still needed for what I have planned. To save my poor friend from a horrible demise. Martin nodded at that. The man still intimidated him to be honest but felt sympathy for him as well. He came to a conclusion that Lucian needed to be intimidating to achieve his goals as a last resort. “Right, of course. Well. Would there be another way for you to contact me? I would rather not have you show up at my work again. No offense. It would raise questions and I'm already on thin ice around here due to a few mistakes I've made in the past.” He winced, remembering Patricia's threats and enduring her wrath. He would rather not go through that again if helping Lucian there and having an accident happen or being caught acting shady would incur her wrath. “Of course. That would work out perfectly for me. This is my card. You call it if you are having troubles. In exchange, you give me your number and address.” Martin didn't know why he felt the need to gulp at that. “Yes, this is to help your friend, right?” Lucians grin widened, looking as manic as Hyde would be. “Of course. Why would I lie to my newly made friend?” Lucian attempted to reassure Martin. Though he would use force if his act fell through. Though he knew that he wouldn't have to. “Henry won't want a man who attempted to hurt two innocent men.” Lucian would've scowled at Robert if they were alone. Lucian had Martin haul the supplies and such that was needed to where he was currently residing. It didn't take long to place everything where he needed it. With that done, Martin left relieved to be done for now. As soon as they were alone, Lucian faced a mirror, looking at it with contempt. “You know we need to save our doe eyed darling from that beast and that is exactly what I intend to do. Even if I have to crack a few eggs in order to accomplish that.” That earned a scoff from Robert but he said no more. Knowing it was impossible to talk his counterpart out of this insane plan of his.

Murder Au: The Surprise Visit
Henry Jekyll put down the papers in his hand and once more glanced at the grandfather clock in his office. The hands read a quarter to 11. Henry let out a deep sigh and turned his focus back on the papers on his desk. As he was trying to focus on his work, he heard an all too familiar groan coming from the mirror near the curtains. "Would ye stop acting so morose." Edward Hyde, his other half complained. Henry gave his reflection a hard, annoyed stare. "Aren't you the one who enjoys seeing me suffer?" Henry asked with a snarky tone. "Ah only enjoy seeing ye glum when ah cause it. It's boring when there is another issue that ye are worried about." Hyde retorted as he folded his arms with a huff. Henry rolled his eyes, ignoring his counterpart as he returned back to his work. Hyde frowned at this. "Why are ye even being so gloomy? Chubby Cheeks ain't here and ye are acting like the Society's been shut down." Henry turned his head back around and gave a glare at his counterpart. "I am concerned for good reason Hyde. It's nearly been an hour and Robert still hasn't shown up for our weekly financial discussions." Robert Lanyon was supposed to meet Henry at a quarter to 10 where they would enjoy a small breakfast while discussing the future and current finances of the Society. Henry wasn't immediately worried a few minutes after Robert hadn't shown up at the agreed time. He assumed his co-found might have had a slight delay in coming here. It would sometimes happen in the busy streets of London. Henry did become increasingly worried when Robert hadn't shown up after 30 minutes. Henry did eat some of his breakfast that Rachel prepared, he then asked his day manager to stay downstairs and alert if him Robert should stop by. Rachel agreed and Henry decided to tackle some paperwork while he waited. Unfortunately it was another 30 minutes that had passed and still no sign of his cherished friend. Henry's face morphed into a frown as he abandoned his paperwork and elected to stare at the clock. "It isn't like Robert to be this late and not send some type of notice ahead to indicate a reason for his long delay." Henry said aloud. "Lanyon is probably held up because of some stupid stuffy reason or another." Hyde commented. His smile then grew wide and his face morphed into a malicious expression as a thought popped into his wicked head. "Or maybe, Chubby Cheeks got sick and tired of this place and ye. He called it quits and decided he doesn't want anything more to do with ye and the Society." Hyde cackled at his evil theory. Henry turned his head to glare hard at Edward. "Even if Robert quit, he would still have informed me beforehand. He knows how to give notice about such matters." He snapped back. "Ye didn't disagree with me there, doctor." Hyde taunted with a maddening grin. Henry was going to go back to ignoring his other half when he heard a knock on the door, surprising but not unwelcome. "Come in." Henry called out. The door opened and Rachel, the Society's cook and day manager, peered in. "Rachel. Has Robert arrived?" Henry asked, feeling hopeful. Rachel shook her head. "No. Actually, I came up here because Sergeant Brokenshire is downstairs. He says he's here on important matters." Rachel replied. Henry noticed that the young maid had a slight look of confusion on her face. He merely chalked it off to her surprise at Brokenshire's unexpected visit. "Alright. I'll be down there soon enough." Henry exclaimed. Rachel nodded and closed the door, leaving the split man alone with his other half, not that she knew. "What the bloody hell is that peeler doin er'e? Ah ain't done nothing to warrant the coppers on me back, and ye haven't let me out much since the fire." Hyde complained with anger and annoyance. Henry frowned. He too was nervous about Sergeant Brokenshire's sudden appearance. He hoped none of his lodgers were in trouble and that he wasn't here to ask more questions on the whereabouts of Edward Hyde.

Mr. Seyk
You're a mystery I intend to unravel
You're a puzzle I will figure out by the weeks end
This is a fight I'd be willing to battle
I promised, safe and well I'll keep my friend
Watching you skulk around within the shadows
Intentions that are less than pure that I'll surely expose
Before you know it, I'll have you at the gallows
We shall see how this will come to a close
Your nights are numbered Mr. Hyde for I shall be Mr. Seyk
I see right through you, to him you aren't so friendly
All the sin and havoc you always wreak
I won't allow you to sink your claws into Henry
It all started with that name of yours
Only known through others word
Met with many closed doors
So many terrible things I've heard
My mission I assure you I will fulfill
You shall not have a moment's rest
Sleuthing becoming an unexpected skill
I swear with you on my mind I'm driven mad
What is this insanity that follows you?
What business do you have with him, cad?
A suspecting thought I hope isn't true
Tormenting and extorting a good man?
You shall do no such thing under my watch
Consequences for your actions and dastardly plan
All of what you are trying to do, I sure will botch
You will no longer be able to take from him
Behind bars you will find yourself in
I wouldn't blink an eye if you were to lose a limb
I find myself expressing the displeasure within
The minutes are running out for you
The name that haunts my dream, Edward Hyde
A face that is eerily reminiscent yet of who?
Unpleasant emotions festering, these I refuse to hide.
My mind spoken so clearly, something thought to be fantasy
What was that concoction that changed so much in me?
Pride in my words I know isn't just vanity
Never have I felt so careless and free
You're nearly within my reach, so close
Edward Hyde you will no longer be able to flee
The future I envision, what I desire most
My dearest friend smiling and laughing
Unbothered and living like no other
No longer just thoughts in passing
Joining him, nothing else I'd rather

Martin's face drained of color, seeing the grin on the looming Lucians expression. "You need my assistance? For what exactly?" The poor unfortunate scientist knew that the only way he could get out of this situation was by going along with Lucian. "I need you to fetch me some supplies. Won't you be a dear and do that for me? You know your way around this place while I do not. I fear I would get lost. Though, I am quick to learn my surroundings of you were to guide me as well." That was definitely not a request. "Alright. You... you won't hurt me if I do as you say?" The cloaked Lucian tightened his grip on the others shoulder. "Of course not! Why would I hurt someone who is assisting me? That would be quite preposterous, don't you think?" Martin nodded at that. "Yes. I suppose that would be. I will help you. What uh supplies do you have in mind?" The other was silent for a moment. "Chemicals, mostly. Maybe parts for a device. Do you have any experience with inventions? Perhaps make a device that could temporarily take away powers from a super powered being?" Martin didn't want to admit it. He did help his cousin with those hypnotizing devices of his yet nothing like what this man wanted. "I have never made a device like you described." Lucian thought for a moment before speaking up, releasing his tight grip on Martin. "You seem like an extremely smart man. I believe you could build such a device for me. You see, I have a tale of woe to tell. My dear friend, he's in danger. I wish to rescue him from said danger, but I can only do so much against super strength and abilities. I'm terribly sorry for using force not too long ago, but I had no choice. I didn't want you to alert security before I could explain myself. I wanted to make sure I could trust you. Dr. Smalls, my poor friend could get harmed or worse. If I don't save him from the fiend who has him in their clutches. I truly am not a violent man. Only when the situation calls for it." There was a scoff that only Lucian could hear. He ignored it. Though Martin seemed to be buying what Lucian was telling him. "I could... gather up what you asked for. Perhaps make a power inhibitor that won't harm the one it's affecting. No one will be hurt?" Lucian patted the scientists shoulder. "Of course not. I only wish to help! I was so desperate that I came here to steal. Again, I apologize for frightening you. I didn't know what else to do. Unfortunately, I do not possess the same knowledge as you do." Martin considered his words before responding. "Alright, I already agreed to help. Though, why not find a hero to help you?" Lucian was quick to shake his head. "You see, the one who has my friend in his diabolical web, he has fooled them. I don't know who I could trust, but something tells me that you could be." Martin's eyes widened. "Corrupted heroes?" They heard someone walking towards them, their heads turning in that direction. "I would say more, but I fear for my life as well." He whispered to the scientist before finding a hiding spot. He remained undetected as the other scientist gave Martin a short greeting before moving on. He waited a few moments to make sure they were gone before remerging. “Now that we've cleared things up, would you do as I asked?” Martin nodded. “We'll have to be quick. I'll have to erase the memory from the security cameras so they won't know I helped you steal.” Lucian was starting to like this gullible fool more by the minute. He was so incredibly easy to manipulate and intimidate. Robert would complain but no one had gotten hurt. Which is what he wanted.

Amazing! I love it!
so I wrote a short fic-
The cellar wasn't her first choice to run to. But it had been the safest place registered by her brain. Not too many people came down here. It was really the maids and workers during meal prep. But Rachel had out done herself with that. So cinder knew she could be here without being seen.
She felt like she would break into a thousand pieces like a glass shattering. She heaved as sobs wracked through her body. When was the last time she allowed herself to feel this way? Cinder dared not shed tears in front of anyone. Not to feel much. All her previous courtships ended with her heart being broken. She tried to be cautious this time but it all just felt real. She thought he was different. Thought this time was different
But it's never ever different!
The brunette should have known better. She stared down at her wedding band before yanking it off and tossing it somewhere in the dark.A sound of footsteps broke her out of her crying session. She had thought they were coming from above…but no they were down here as well.
"Hmmm what's this…?”
A small gasp escaped her hearing a voice. She quickly wiped her tears away with a handkerchief. An attempt was made to compose herself as she called out.
"Henry..?”
“Not quite love” familiar green eyes seemed to glimmer in the dim lighting as the figure approached. He has picked up her ring, staring at it as if examining it.
"Oh…it's you..” she couldn't hide the slight disappointment in her tone. Why had she hoped Henry would come after her? It was all just a foolish daydream. Henry didn't love her. He didn't even want to marry her! It had been a fluke…Hyde made a mock hurt gesture. “What did wittle ole me do?”
“I didn't mean it like that…” her usual snarkiness towards the blonde wasn't present. She was quite thankful for the bad lightning. Not wanting to be seen having a breakdown around her sorta frienemy. And yet in some ironic twist it always seemed like he was around more than her supposed husband! Perhaps it was the dance they shared and misadventure that caused Cinder to see Hyde in a different way.
"Ah.. somethin’ eatin’ away at ye?”
“No.” She says. “Just…had something in my eye.”
“Rightttt…” he drawled in a tone that said he didn't believe her. “Wouldn' happen ta be a certain brown haired bloke in yer eye causin’ yer tear ducts to be working overtime, eh?”
