"Yeah that's what we're trialing, one day a week for now. Well most weeks." she laughed, "Not working now during them just catching up with- life I guess?" Paloma shrugged. "Wait what? You're- engaged? Congratulations" Paloma hugged him again, "How? When? Tell me all," she said still holding his hand and giving it a light squeeze before letting go. Paloma was definitely a sucker for love, especially loved for people she wished the best for.

"Oh wow, that's amazing Paloma! Have you thought about taking her to the daycare? Even just so you can have a Mom Day." Edgar nodded with a smile. "Fall is always the best season; the kids have more attention," he joked, though it was true. Suddenly it occurred to him that he might not have told Paloma. "Oh, my god. Do you know I'm engaged now?"

Paloma smiled watching Alma grin and looked mesmerized by Edgar, "I'm good you know. Trying to get back out there slowly." she nodded, "And by out there I mean I started working one day a week. Well, some weeks. Whenever she lets me really." Paloma said with a dry laugh, it has been 10 months but she was still getting used to having someone attached to her hip. "And how's it going with you? Happy to be back to school?"

Edgar returned the hug with his own smile. Pulling away, he shook his head, chuckling. "Oh, no, it's fine." He crouched down to be more level with Alma. "We're friends, aren't we?" he cooed. Even if he was still marginally terrified to hold her. Getting back up, Edgar winced at the way his knees cracked. "How've you been Paloma?"

"Hello there stranger" Paloma smiled and gave Edgar a hug, "Fancy seeing you here" she smirked, it was actually weird they'd not bumped into each other more regularly when she was picking Sofie up from school. Paloma sighs as she looks down on Alma in her pushchair, the little girl was so intrigued by the man in front of her, "Alma mi vida, stop looking at uncle Edgar like that, you look creepy." she laughed.

Now that Paloma was easing into going back to work she seemed to enjoy the little days out with Alma that much more. After working the day before she decided to treat herself and her daughter to a walk and soft scoop ice-cream, at least while the weather was still decent. Maybe Paloma was a little too quick to give Alma the spoon to try and scoop some ice cream herself as the baby managed to somehow get it on herself, her mother and the person passing by the bench Paloma was sitting on. "Oh my god sorry," she winced starting to rummage through the big bag attached to the stroller.

being new to town meant having the luxury of spending the day at town hall to sort out housing, job and everything else in between. diana walked her way through her new home, heading towards the town hall following the directions she was given.

"And I'm sure she feels the same way, your life carried on here too." she smiled nodding, "Oh mi vida, I'm sure it can only be a good thing she's here" Paloma's expression softened, she's not sure how she'd feel about seeing a close relative here, it has become visibly more tense in Huntsville over past few year. Paloma wasn't one to care about the supernatural nature of the place, but even she is struggling to keep ignoring all the extraordinary things happening here.

Lachlan poured them each a drink while she spoke and sipped his own. "It's been a long time, I've missed so much getting trapped here." He did sigh a bit then turned his attention back to Paloma. "Maybe having a familiar face will make things feel a little less... shit?" He offered the word again.

Paloma couldn't help but smile at the girls playing together, as a single child she always thought what it would be like to have a sibling, well at least until her parents died after which she was rather glad no one else needed to suffer through that but her.

"It is a long time," Paloma nodded in agreement, "But hey it's amazing you get to reconnect. Shit situation but we can make most of it right," she shrugged casually then made a face when she realized she shouldn't probably use that language around the girls, how has she not learnt yet. "Anyway, it'll be nice to meet her," Paloma moved swiftly past feeling that little bit awkward to concentrate at what Lachlan said, "And it's so exciting, she'll be meeting her niece! Not to mention you can ask her about how the other hermanitas are doing."

Sofie nodded in response, she didn't have anything against Paloma but it was all Lachlan she was annoyed at. "Okay, I'd like that." She nodded again then turned her attention to play with Alma instead.

"I'm a little nervous about this but it'll be fine, she'll get to meet Sofie this time and you of course." He let out a sigh and unpacked the food from the bag he had brought with them. "Strange. It's been twelve years."

Paloma observed Sofie and Lachlan's interaction as she took few things from the bag they took with themselves, mostly colorful toys that Alma straight away made a grab at. "Your hair is getting so long," Paloma smiled at Sofie, lightly brushing through the girl's hair and smiling in an attempt to take the edge of the conversation, "We'll have to do a little styling session and see what sort of braids we can do with it."

She then looked up at Lachlan and put a strand of his hair behind his ear affectionately, the family resemblance between him and Sofie was striking, no wonder their attitudes were so similar. "Of course it's okay, I can't wait to meet her," Paloma said brightly, she actually was excited about the prospect if not a little nervous, she was never part of a big family, even this - the four of them, was an adjustment for her lonesome ways so her mind couldn't help and be a little anxious. "How's it been so far? Seeing her hear I mean."

Sofie was having a bit of sulk on the blanket, arms crossed and turned away from them which Lachlan had opted to ignore as he handed Alma over with a smile.

"I wanna go play with my friends." Sofie piped up before Lachlan could answer Paloma. "I already told you not yet." "That's not fair!" "Well life isn't fair." He shot back at her then sat himself down on the blanket, shaking his head to Paloma about her, he knew she was getting older and more independent but her attitude recently had started to get worse. "At least put your hair up." He offered her a hair tie which she snatched and hurriedly bundled her long auburn hair up. "Less of the attitude or we're going home." That caused Sofie to gasp and pout further. "That's what I thought, you're to stay here until I'm happy with you."

With a sigh, he finally turned his attention back to Paloma. "My sister is in town, she may join us if that's ok?"

Paloma has smoothed the blanket and put the basket they took with them to sit down on, "Okay what's the game plan?" she asked looking first at Sofie with a smile then making a silly face as she took Alma from Lachlan's arms and sat her down on the blanket. Paloma couldn't help smiling as she saw their daughter sitting and starting to look around for something to either crush in her little fingers or put in her mouth for a chew.

Paloma had started back her running routine with variation of success. And today's run came with an additional unexpected milestone - Alma in a recently acquired stroller. The start seemed okay if not a little awkward and the baby fell asleep quickly but the peace didn't last long as Alma woke up fussing and cry. Paloma was lifting her out to try and sooth the baby when she spotted woofie goldberg running her way. A smile spread over Paloma's face as she leant down to pet the dog with a rather confused Alma in her hands, the mother was honestly just glad the dog made the girl curious and she stopped crying. It didn't take long for Paloma to spot Zain sitting on the bench and after she petted woofie the woman got the dog to follow her back to it's owner as she pushed the empty pram along holding now beaming little Alma on her arm. "Hi stranger." she smiled down to seated Zain, "I think your crew might be sniffing around for new friends." Paloma said with a small laugh.

where: main street who: open to all zain had been a shell of his former self after everything that had went down months ago. he had promised kiara that he was trying to get it together but reality had been different than intended. he had been nowhere to be seen unless someone was able to catch a glimpse of him out walking the dogs but other than that he might as well have been a ghost.

shuffling his way down the street while he was walking the dogs, zain found a spot to sit down at a bench while the dogs wandered around him. "alright guys, don't go too far"

Paloma felt weird with both of them being out of the house, this was the first time they left both the girls with someone who wasn't well, one of them. Somehow Paloma thought leaving Alma with other would come sooner, but she was learning so much about taking things at their own pace rather than overthinking and internalizing it. She smiled softly back at Lachlan "Thank you for sorting this out, it feels weird not to have the carrier around," she laughed looking down at her outfit as if the carrier could magically appear on top of it. Paloma sat down, "Are we celebrating the coming summer? Cause in that case I'll have some cherry wine." she smirked.

Who: Lachlan and Paloma Where: Country Roads Typically, Lachlan and Paloma never got any time together but he wanted to take her out for the afternoon so they could try being adults again instead of parents so when Vincent agreed to look after both girls, he made them a reservation here, had them both dressed up and was currently leading her into the restaurant. "Whatever you want, it's on me." Lachlan smiled at her.

"Oh I'm shit with suggestions really." Paloma smiled at Briar with a small shrug. "Maybe something about the joys of childbirth so you wouldn't get an idea to do it anytime soon. No offence, mi vida" she made a silly face as she looked down at Alma nestled in the carrier.

"But yeah I was surprised to find a Crazy Rich Asians when I got here but I guess they keep restocking if people accidentally bring CDs and stuff into town." Paloma nodded, she only started going to the video store more often recently, getting stir-crazy at home with Alma had lead her to renting movies even if it's just for background noise why she busy herself around the house.

briar was still adjusting to life in huntsville, and while she had people around her, she still found herself getting stir crazy. the commune was friendly and welcoming enough, but being out in town brought a form of serotonin that she didn't know she needed until now. that's why she'd wandered into family video, searching for something to keep her brain occupied.

"the collection here is better than i expected," she chuckled and turned her attention to the person beside her, though her voice was still soft. "do you have any recommendations? i'm not picky."

"You have a wonderfully brilliant mind, Edgar, sabes" Paloma smiled, she was fascinated that someone can think of a whole script let alone bring it to life in this place. She also saw the buzz it generated around town making everyone forget all of this town's worries if only for some time.

Paloma couldn't help but let out a laugh as Edgar blushed and turned away, "You know I used to get paid good money to show my tits and now I have to wipe one out every hour for free. No actually that's not true, I do it for some quiet time" she laughed.

"Oh totally, I just wish I could nap as much as her." Paloma rolled her eyes but a smile didn't disappear from her face. "I hope you're not loosing any sleep over the play?"

He smiled as he watched Paloma interact with her baby. It always warmed his heart seeing parents be loving toward their children. Edgar chuckled, cheeks tinging pink ever so slightly. "Sorry sorry, I meant nothing of it. You still look lovely Paloma, I promise."

His smile grew at the other's comment. "Don't worry about it. You've been understandably busy. Who knows, I may end up accidently writing a whole other play later down the line." From where he was sitting he caught just a flash of some of Paloma's skin and his blush grew as he looked away respectfully.

"Well, don't we all want a nap after a good meal?" he teased.
