au where yuu, a up and rising pro hockey player, is a huge fan of mika, a renowned figure skater. through connections, he finally has the chance to see mika in person and is excited to meet the other. however, he is shocked when mika, his idol, is actually a giant asshole with a huge ego

yuu's image of mika is completely shattered after their first encounter yet, no matter how hard he tries, the blond always shows up in his life again

au where yuu is raised in a very wealthy family. wanting a sense of normalcy, yuu begs for his parents to allow him to study at an all-boys academy far from home. they agree, but only if yuu promises to agree to wed once he comes of age

arriving at the capital, yuu almost gets robbed by a group of thieves, but luckily a man with a straw hat and a beautiful sword chases them off. yuu has no time to thank him, as the other takes off before he can

at the academy, yuu recognizes the man from before and attempts to befriend the other so that he could learn how wield a sword like him. the blonde, mika, is initially cold to him and refuses to acknowledge his presence at the academy luckily, his coldness doesn't last long, as yuu's an expert at worming his way into people's hearts. they begin to train and study together every day for the next 3 years. yuu even paints butterflies, one green and one blue, on mika's sword to symbolize their friendship despite their feelings being reciprocated, neither acts on their feelings. it's only when yuu is asked to return back home that mika finally builds up the courage to travel to yuu's hometown and visit him. he's disheartened when he realizes yuu is about to be wed off to a woman

yuu regretfully sends mika off, but begins to make a plan to escape his family's firm grip on him. during the wedding, yuu would drink a concoction that would stop his heartbeat for a period of time- enough time for everyone to think he's dead and for mika to retrieve him

however, when his messenger fails to find mika, mika travels to yuu's home to retrieve his "dead" body. he's a one man army as he kills the family's guards and carries his lover deep into the forest where buttetflies and flowers flourished

at the verge of death, mika manages to dig a grave for them to rest in. but as townspeople discover their grave and begin to bury them, yuu wakes up to find his lover, dead. its only then where yuu decides to close his eyes and follow his lover to the afterlife

au where mika is a socially awkward bounty hunter who's partnered up with yuu cause he quote, "has no friends." mika finds yuu repulsive and annoying, but eventrually grows a soft spot for the boy  when the other saves his life during a chase.

however, the moment they shift from mild enemies to friends to lovers, yuu vanishes, leaving mika alone once more. when no one bothers to find yuu, mika takes it upon himself to find his other half.

au where mika works at a cat cafe and yuus pretty allergic to cats but visits the place anyways cause he kinda fell in love with a certain blond employee. when a fluffy blond cat takes a sudden interest in him, yuu notices a weird kind of jealousy spark between the cat and mika

au based on the renaissance period where mika is heir to the throne and yuu travels the world as a merchant who sells hand-crafted toys. after hearing that mika's kingdom is the capital for trading, yuu quickly arrives despite not knowing a lick of their native language.

on a day where he manages to sell nothing, yuu, disgruntled with his lack of sells, stumbles across a beautiful, secluded pond deep in the forest. unbeknownst to him, the land is owned by the royal family and by being on it, he's techincally tresspassing.

fortunately, when he's caught by the mika, he's treated with kindness though is completely unaware that he has met the prince. despite their entire interaction being a complete shitshow, mika asks for yuu to return so that he could teach yuu his language and vice versa

although mika knows japanese, he pretends he doesn't in hopes that the man comes back (after all, he has no friends). at first, that's their entire ordeal until mika learns that yuu makes toys for a living. he secretly sends out one of his men to buy everything from yuu after learning that he hasn't made very much ever since he arrived. its then when mika realizes he has accidentally fallen in love with the raveonette, despite being wedded to another. fearing that he might not have much time to spend with yuu, he confesses in hopes that the other reciporacates. when he does, they share a cute kiss, leaving both of them flustered. the initial awkwardness fades pretty easily, and soon enough, they both are teenages blinded by love. however, things begin to go down hill when yuu begins to question mika's identity.

it's only when he discovers that mika is the prince when he overhears a couple talking about his odd absence from the public. when yuu confronts him about it, mika confesses everything (like, everything). yuu doesn't seem very upset about it, so when he stops visiting mika, the blonde takes the iniatives and invades his home he's shocked when he finds everything in yuu's small home empty, who tells mika that he's returning to his home country in 3 days in order to take care of his sick mother and that he doesn't know when or if he'll ever come back.

yuu holds mika close when the other begins to panic and hyperventilates, going back on his word and promising that he'll return. knowing that he was lying for mika's own good, the prince gets up and leaves, telling yuu that he wishes him the best of luck.

its been raining a lot where i live and i couldnt help but think of a au where yuu's apart of a tribe that feeds off the ocean and mika's the weather deity. mika's mood determines what the weather is like so when, for some reason, really bad hurricanes limits food supplies, yuu and his crew set out to sea to kill the weather deity. 

sadly, his crew dies when their ship gets caught up in one of mika's storms, but luckily he washes up on some island. when he wakes up, he finds himself laying in the weather deity's bed and to his surprise, he's not some angry god he thought he was. in fact, mika's really calm and takes really great care of yuu while he recovers. although the storms are less harsh now, yuu can't figure out why the storms keep reoccuring, so he makes it his goal to become close with the god in order to find out.
