I started to play Ori but I don’t think it is a game for me. Which is weird because I thought it would. I’m really annoyed by the fluidity of motion. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue.

When I walked into this cave I saw nests and the music was so warm and home-like I immediately thought I would find other birds here. But they are a rebel camp? I like how they have abandoned missions because it tells me that these are the crows that were once mentioned in the lobby and secondly, that all crows are cursed(?) to be reapers in this world (I guess?).
They also called me the Foretold Crow and they have a some sort of religion going on. They also let me know that the shrines are built by them to aid other reapers! I found out that I’m missing only a couple so I backtracked to get all that I could find based on the squidman’s clues. I managed to fully upgrade my magic and I’m only missing one health crystal.

I found this medallion behind a door and later this door with the same symbol. I looked at my older screen captures and there is at least one similar door in the family grave area and possibly in the southernmost part of the graveyard.

Okay about the timeline now:
Lord Lockstone makes a deal with Death and creates the hall of doors (and old model doors?), the reapers and possibly the Death’s Door, unless it already existed and is much older (which I think is the case)
This is evidenced by the second Lord talking about the reapers and the mistakes of their predecessor
At some point a seismic event happens at the Death’s door and some reapers’ doors are shut and they are abandoned. Investigators are silenced/killed, all information about this incident is destroyed
This (maybe?) happens during the reign of the current Lord, as the 4th Lord (and others as well) are disappointed in their actions
As these abandoned reapers are dead and the old crow trying to open the Death’s Door is alive, they must(?) be younger than the seismic event
Other things that I have been thinking is again, the Guardian of the Door. THE Door, so I imagine this is about the Death’s Door. However I revisited the grave and it says A guardian of THE door. And I realized the first boss after the plant demon was also A Guardian of the door. So there hoes my theory that the guardian is Death itself with the capital D.
Still, the guardian’s grave does look like it might be related to the seismic event. When I killed a guardian, there was no earthquake though :/

I met rest of the ghosts of the Lords. Now I do think that Lockstone was both the first Lord and the one that made the deal with Death. Theodoor seems to have had a lot of love for the reapers :( and felt contempt towards their predecessor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Opengate was the third lord and they share the idea that creating the Death’s door was a mistake.
I also notice that the headpiece changes between the iterations of the Lords! So the statue in the head quarters is Lockstone and not the current Lord.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fourth Lord is disappointed at their successor, who is the current Lord.

In the Sailor area there was a puzzle to get this giant ass sword. The sword seems to have belonged to someone who opposed the Lord but I was unable to see their face from this angle. Or at least this shrine was made by people who opposed the Lord. Anyway, the sword is cool and all but I still prefer the red one for its speed and large range. The roll attack on this one is cool though!

About moonlight: there have been two references to moonlight, from the dialogue of the Gravedigger and the item description of the trowel.
Is moonlight something that happens in the endgame? So far I’ve only seen daylight. The commision head quarters has no time and everytime I leave to the "real world" I’m aging. However, death hasn’t touched the Frog King’s kingdom, so everyone is still aging but not dying? So the time is still essentially frozen everywhere, and there is no night or moonlight. Of course this might just be that the day-night cycle not being implemented for ease of game development. However, filling all the pots seems like an endgame thing which makes me convinced I’m going to see the moon then.

This puzzle was SOOO much easier this way than what was intended :D

Behind the gates was this door that I think lets me upgrade the bow and arrows? The boss did not seem impossible but I wanted to do some more hookshot exploration before I spend a lot of time on this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also found similar doors for the bomb spell and the hookshot. These I did not yet check out.
I also need to remember that there is a pot in this room which I have not planted. I keep not planting the flowers unless I really need healing, although I do know that eventually I need to plant them all. And I think the trowel will let me find any missing seeds I still don’t have, but only in moon light.

So many people have investigated this apparently. In the other case, after getting the bomb spell, there were notes that the investigator had gone to help others and had died while doing that. This time nothing about that? Was this one just silenced?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aren’t the giant souls essentially this? The soul of the Frog King says that death hasn’t touched his kingdom in a while (I assume because the Death’s door is closed) so wouldn’t this include the monsters in his kingdom (and probably others) as well? Is this text so old that the thought of even one undying person is strange?

On a bit of a happier note, the flower children are multiplying and they are coming from the doors I’m leaving open! Another thought I had was that the place I saw these for the first time was the original location of my mission. It’s called the Glade of Spirits or something, are these just called spirits?
I later found an ink-stained teddy and thought it might be Agatha’s but there was no special dialogue :(

In this arena I had to kill a big knight that I had previously skipped in the Garden. It wasn’t actully bad with the bomb spell!

Going up from the Sailor area and proceeding to a fortress. I met a Bard (that I already saw in the forest) and they told me that a giant monster lives in the fortress. Seeing this statue of the Lord of Doors made me think that hey, are they the monster? I quickly learned that this is more of a grave than the office I previously visited, so I’m not sure :D
There’s also LOADS of these doors here but still only 4 spirits, so I think my thoughts about the door in Witch’s garden were incorrect.
It funny that I figured out the manhole covers like 20 minutes before I have to use them to progress for the first time.
Tumblr media
The description tells me that there have been multiple lords. And (so far?) I found the graves of two of them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first one was Lord Lockstone who was the first Lord to make a deal with Death and created the hall of doors. Maybe it’s them on the statue in the office, and not the current Lord? This does not say though if he was THE first Lord though, only the first to make a deal with Death. And Death is written with capital D mind you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second one was Lord Theodoor who was the first successor, so the second after the OG. "Their transition to power was smooth and their reign egalitarian".
However, Theodoor did oversee the reapers as it seems. This makes me think that Lockstone was the Original Lord, because why would Theodoor have something to do with the reapers if there was not a deal with Death yet? Assuming reaping is a deathly activity.

Moving on to the west area. There’s six of these dudes. They are looking at the guardians grave? No idea what this could mean.
Tumblr media
You guys have nipple piercings in this world?
Tumblr media
The trowel was the Witch’s grandson’s! And the green pots are his pots!! How did he get one to the Frog King’s castle or other places though :D
Tumblr media
I also tried my umbrella because it was raining sleet. I do not know if it kept me dry or what to do with it yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also found Grunt whom I freed from the Mushroom dungeon. I now realize that I have seen others with the frog mask, the humanoid enemies! They are in all of the areas but have different masks depending on the ruler. Secondly, I found a book that told the story of someone and their squid friend. I think it’s the squid who has actually written it :D
