Attn: World  -  O-pin-eh-yawn
In a land of the pretend society called America, a girl who had long beautiful flowing hair, cut it short and someone commented, "You looked prettier with longer hair." "Oh," she replied, "I think I look pretty with long and short hair!" "Yes/No, they replied, "I think differently." "Of course!"
The End!
Because
OF
COURSE
YOU
DO!!!
Why the bajeezuls would we think the same ALL THE TIME? We are different people with different perspectives and experiences!!
Ha ha!!
What is this joke? Caring so much about other's opinions... Have we really lost such a strong sense of who and what we are, that we need someone else' opinion to confirm our sense of belonging??? You are! I am! WE ARE!
Be confident and respect other people's opinions.
RIGHT!! Of course!.... Easier typed/read/said than done, true, but then how can we develop, grow ourselves in that direction? Make that goal our sunlight, if we happened to be pretending to be plants.
Practice mindfulness.
Try to observe yourself from a different perspective, even if it's just seeing yourself as a completely different character in the room, maybe watching you like you were a TV star - (You are now Leave It to Beaver Kid. 100+ points for commenting his name! 0 points for me on that one...)
Find your higher power.
- If you are an atheist, surrender to the power of science!! (Yoga is the most anciently man known science by the way, please study it if it calls to you to do so. I enjoyed Mind the Body, Mend the Mind, Meet the Spirit by Dr. Raj Kapoor! Very informative, fascinating, scientific book!)
This could be identified through
God
Allah
Christ
Yaman
The Great Spirit
The Universe
Spirit Guides
The Sky
Energy
(Please Comment and Leave What/Who you consider your higher power!)
Again, lesson 1. We all hold different opinions.
The key point of spirituality, is that all paths lead to the same destination.
Contemplating the meaning of life and death will lead you were you need to go. Please don't be afraid or turn away from the fact that what is born, must die. It's only as scary as change- run and it chases you, accept and live with it, allows you to understand it better.
Please don't believe your opinion is superior to other's. When you live a path seeking non-harm, truth, love and kindness, you know what is best for you, and that's all you can do. Work on yourself allows you to open up and heal others with less agony that sometimes comes when trying to help others.
*Please take other's opinions lightly on petty things. When does an opinion makes your heart close up? What if you tried and opened it again? Just breath into it instead of reacting from it. I literally mean, just go through out the day, watching the way your heart feels, people!! And just watch it react to everything!!
When two people can hold their own opinions as lightly as they hold the opinion of others, then great conversations, exploring each other's world's and perspectives can take place with the most grace. This is often when opinions can take on a new form, with new awareness and knowledge. Maybe the opinion is so grounded it doesn't change though, and that's fine too!
Please leave comments on your experiences and onions.
Bonus Questions: Is onion a good word for opinion?? Should I also add to the title: Homework Assignment #1 Do people like doing homework? Do you?
By the way, no this didn't actually happen to me lol! But that is how I feel :) (Or didn’t happen yet? LOL)
*Breathing Meditation Looking forward to hearing your opinion! Haha!! You know I will take it very lightly!!! xDD
--Unless you give me constructive criticism! Help me learn please! THANKS! (That’s another great essay, the less you react offensively, the more you can learn!!)
(Also want to note that it’s not wrong to feel offended! Understand why you feel disrespected, and be able to express that without losing control of your emotions. You can be passionate and calm! Is whatever happened worth putting all that passionate emotion into? How strong and important are your beliefs on the subject? Is it because it speaks against truth or is violent/harmful?)
Love Always,
Sunshine
