pleek im not even a tzjd girlie (Well I am not but not like big time because they are bit too cutesie for me sry esp now that they've been reunited like what the hell) but if this is what it takes to get you to web weave about tknp in the year 2025 ill take it. M, please what are your thoughts on tk, np, tknp currently...please please please. Your fics for them are the holy grail. I doubt they've changed much since you last wrote about them but I wonder what you think about TK's growth recently (best season ever, playing with Michkov is greaaaat for his numbers, 4 nations nod, worlds with some of our favorite characters). And do you think Nolan is the ultra pathetic one in this relationship, ie tk liked nolan but nolan LOVEDDDDD tk, if he doesn't injured?

i think tk doesn’t really think about nolan anymore at all and i think nolan thinks about tk all the time still. greatest tragedy of that ship is that everyone took nolan’s repressed posturing and tk’s easy breezy fake heart on his sleeve shtick at face value and figured tk was the down bad one when it was always nolan and will always be nolan. tk’s shmoozy little pisces self who can make you feel like he’s an open book while telling you nothing and had zero trouble replacing nolan with a second manitoba giant with a much more convenient career within minutes versus nolan who cared so fucking much about tk that he couldn’t even talk about him in a normal way and still makes his way through a winnipeg snow storm to see tk for ten minutes. tk has the career and the life nolan was supposed to have! tk 14th overall with zero hype who didn’t even get a stall in the flyers locker room at first but had to change in the middle of the room and is now getting nods for the olympics versus nolan who was the consensus first if it hadn’t been for the injuries with that insane pedigree and all those family ties to the nhl treated like royalty by the flyers that first year and what happened next! i think tk liked nolan but mostly he liked the effect he had on nolan and how much nolan liked him. meanwhile nolan looooved tk. almost everyone got unfollowed over the years even some of his closest buddies and yet he cannot bring himself to unfollow karly. still diligently liking her pics when they show a glimpse of tk. nolan shoehorned his way into tk’s building and tk moved to haddonfield to play happy family and he stayed there. meanwhile tk is always going to be iiiit for nolan, also because it reminds him of when shit was good and when he was good or could potentially still be good. the thing about these ships is you have a tk who’s like lol me and nolan are like a married couple and a nolan who bitches about tk but also has to stare at his knees through all of it and people are like lol tk’s so obsessed and nolan doesn’t gaf. but how did you act when you had a crush?? tell me fast. it was serious to nolan and the love was there!!! the love is still there!!!! but tk’s in a place that nolan can never reach all he can do is stare at tk’s life through his wife’s eyes and wonder god how did i read this so wrong!!!

Weird question but just wanting an answer. What is it about Jamie do you think makes a person like Trevor be so...lets use the world obsessed.

In Trevor's own words, Jamie seems to be introvrted, doesnt talk unless spoken to. He seems reserved, a bit boring, if you compare him to Trevor's rambouncios hockey bros.

I mean he's adorable, but i was scrolling through the 'drysgras' tag and there doesnt exist one interview where Trevor doesnt bring Jamie up...

It was clear thst Jamie played a big part snd the dude's life and i feel he may be extremely lost without him. So yeah, what is it about Jamie?

oh hi you’ve stumbled on what maybe be THE tzjd question. I think it’s the question every tzjd fic writer tries to answer, just a little, in every fic.

Jamie is just some guy- all he wants to be is some college guy hanging out and playing hockey, we’ve seen it sooo many times - and I think that is intrinsically interesting to Trevor. Trevor is happy to pretend to be some random college student at stagecoach with Jamie, happy to ghost the girls once they find out the truth. He’s finding catholic school rinks so they can skate with no pressure. And in return Jamie is agreeing to doing a special jersey signing promo day cause Trevor felt bad about changing their numbers. He’s showing up when Trevor needs him.

But also I think Jamie challenges him, he is the perfect combination of never letting Trevor have it easy, but also fond indulgence. You can see on Jamie’s patented fond face when he looks at Trevor chat about what alien YouTube video they watched or during a shared celly. But he also gave Trevor the cold shoulder treatment on the plane back. It’s never been easy but Trevor strikes me as the type of guy who likes the chase, especially when it comes with the kind of gratification Jamie offers.

I think Jamie genuinely likes Trevor in a way that’s unique. The easiest example is the fact he moved BACK in with Trevor. It was heavily implied that none of the vets wanted to live with Trevor and he only stayed with Sonny for a week right, like I think one of Trevor’s deepest insecurities is feeling Too Much, and he doesn’t get that from Jamie. Jamie is content to sit quiet in the car on the way to practice while Trevor rambles on, he’s happy to take artsy photos of Trevor on the rooftop and spend all their time together - something most guys in the league can’t fathom ! Trevor is A lot of personality and Jamie seems to really enjoy all of it, even the bits that annoy others. And really to me that’s romance !

what’s up with Jamie is that Trevor loves him so deeply and he’s just some guy ! I do think Trevor will be going through a major adjustment without him - they really did spend all their time together and sports writers are not being dramatic when they always bring him up because anyone with even remote insider knowledge knows this hurts ! How damning is that too, to be inserted into someone else’s trade narrative because everyone knows just how much you like him ! Cronin was not just talking about his ankle when he said Trevor wasn’t doing well. I do think Jamie will have an equally difficult adjustment in a very specific way because at the end of the day the grind of pro sports and lockerroom culture and the travel really isn’t that different, but to spend all your time with one guy and suddenly no longer have that support network, that comforting white noise of chatter always to keep the anxious thoughts at bay (Jamie saying it’s good to be on the ice bc he doesn’t have to think) that’s hard ! A different kind of missing !
