CLOSED STARTER || @wcnderlnds
Rosa Diaz x Jake Peralta
Rosa watched the scene in front of her unfold as if it was something that happened everyday. It was amusing to her that things seemed to go so terribly wrong for her coworker. At least, she was pretty sure he was her coworker. She had seen him at the station, and she was almost positive they had worked a few cases together. He was a good detective, but she didn’t really know him that well. In fact, she didn’t really know any of her coworkers that well. It was, for the most part, because she didn’t really like to get close to people. The closer she was with people, the more they knew about her, that left her open to get hurt. Rosa was strong, she didn’t enjoy being put in situations that left her emotionally vulnerable. It was a defence mechanism. In another life, maybe things were different for her, but growing up in Bar Harbor, or at least that’s what she believed, she had never had the chance to meet people who taught her otherwise. When she was caught watching the scene, she panicked, although the panic didn’t show. She wasn’t scared, but she was a little caught off guard because now that she was caught watching that meant she had to say something.
“You get yourself into situations like this a lot?”

Amy had been tired of work, she loved her job but it was tiring her some times, she had decided to stop at Patty’s to grab something to eat, she smiled talking to the waitress and cleared her throat “ever just get tired of your job even though you love it to death? Like I love my job at the station but all these late nights and all the hard work I’ve had to put myself through, it isn’t as lovely.”
Rosa had only started working as a detective at the Bar Harbour Police Station a few months ago in reality. Of course, since Rosa remembered nothing of her past life, she believed she had always worked at the station and that her status as a detective was secure. She was surrounded by coworkers who she had to try and refrain from getting to know. Rosa sat across from one of them now, wracking her brain, she had to ponder what exactly the other woman’s name was. She knew it started with an A, and if she thought hard enough perhaps she would have been able to recall the whole thing. Of course, Rosa didn’t try and reach for it because reaching for it meant also offering up personal information about herself. Rosa wasn’t one to share intimate details with everyone, it made her uncomfortable. “No.” She said plainly, “I love my job.” She finished. She wasn’t sure whether her coworker was talking to her, or the waitress, but she had offered an answer anyway. “Especially the late nights working on a case, the more I’m at work the less I have to be other places.”
