I don't know what it is with people and snow, but I really can't see what people like about it. like, we get a full foot of coverage (or more) every single winter and it makes going anywhere - even just the block or so from my house to the Pokémon Center - an absolute nightmare
I heard it makes parts of the region easier to travel, and you know what? good for them. not here. I dread seeing those first few flakes fall because it means all the rest of it is coming soon. at least it all melts pretty quick once spring gets here

(@ilikeetheteaig) Awww!! Mimi's so cute!! What are their cleaning habits like? I've mainly heard from friends that they can either be very helpful or a little obsessive-
thank you! she really is, I'm glad to have her here
honestly, Mimi's been a bit of both over the years. I've noticed that it's mostly when there isn't a lot to clean up that she starts to get a bit obsessive over what she can help with, so that's something I've had to adapt to - mostly by giving her things to clean up, usually once or twice per day depending. though with Boldore around now, I've noticed that it's been less of an issue, since they... do tend to track at least a bit of dust wherever they go
she's also made a habit of stashing things she likes in one of the cupboards (which is now hers and has been for... well, since I moved here actually), which is usually where I'll find things when they've gone missing. small things, at least. always very neat and orderly, more than I'd expect with her little paws. she's a cutie

ah. well, I... can't say moves have ever come to me that easily (absolutely no idea what Boldore can do, for example, though I know it's a Rock type at least), but I'm glad you found something that let you... put all of that stuff to good use
give your Liepard some pets for me, if you can. she deserves them
what was your starter pokemon?
Snivy. And more recently obtained a gentle Totodile from Professor Elm that I've named Friend who's a certified emotional support Pokémon, if that counts?

if what I've read online is any indication, I can't even begin to imagine what... all of that is like. even the smaller influx of new trainers we get around my work has us scrambling sometimes, so as big of an event as that sounds exhausting, to be honest. though I bet a lot of people like it because of that energy, so who am I to judge
you know, sometimes it still feels weird to me that I work in a Pokémon Center but not... for the Pokémon Center, directly. like, the Poké Mart is still its own separate thing even though it's in the same building, it's just. I don't know. I think I kinda preferred how it was before the merger, but maybe that's just 'cause it's what I was used to as a kid

ah, the consistency thing was something they mentioned, but I don't remember hearing that about the crystals. I'll keep an eye on that, thanks (haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary with either yet, but definitely good to know)
poachers... eugh, it's annoying that that's even a thing people need to worry about. a few trainers we passed by as I headed back home did take a closer look that I would've liked... but from what I've learned of shinies since then, maybe I'm just overthinking it. definitely all the more reason to get a ball for them sooner than later... and I'll look into getting them tagged, thanks for the reminder (was in a post-vacation back-to-work flurry the past couple weeks and it slipped my mind).
...you know, I'm not entirely sure if I've seen that or not. I'll give it time, it's only been a couple weeks since I got them, but I swear I've seen crystal dust in Mimi's tail when I brushed her once, a few days after Boldore came back with me. I'll see if they start acting like that - thanks for the heads up, by the way - but who knows, maybe I'll find a secret stash of them at some point or something
(@unova-ex-nuzlocker) hey there, sorry for the question out of the blue, but I started... caring for, for lack of a better term, a shiny Boldore a couple weeks ago. the staff at the Pokémon Center gave it a good bill of health and sent me home with some information on the basics (how to feed and groom it, what kind of shelter it would need, etc.) but I was wondering if there was anything else I need to keep an eye out for considering it's a shiny? thanks in advance
Congrats on the friend, then!
Hm, do keep an eye on the consistency of its body and crystals. If there is ever a level of squishiness or give to its body, take it to the Pokémon Center as soon as possible. There are different minerals that turn it a color other than the typical orange, which sometimes can lead to some oddities in its makeup. Boldore's crystals should always be the same texture and feel as a phone screen, and be slightly warm to the touch. Different Boldore have different primary body textures, but it should generally be tough and firm. Anything else, be sure to get checked out.
You may have gotten told this already, but even so, better to reiterate, as issues like that are more common in shininess!
The other thing to keep an eye out for is poachers. Shiny Boldore don't have as many health problems and are generally more stable than other Pokémon with shininess conditions, but at the price of having incredibly valuable crystals. Be sure your Boldore is properly tagged if you've not already done so, and don't leave it unattended in public spaces. Not saying you would, just a general rule to follow.
That said, if your Boldore is one of the types that sheds parts of its crystals sometimes, you can legally sell that, too. Some Boldore just do that, different caves have different mutations and all. If yours is, it'll start showing signs of itchiness (rubbing its crystals against things, trying to scratch the spot, rolling, sometimes mild to moderate annoyance displays) when shedding, and eventually the crystals will come off, usually along with dust coatings from its primary body (sorry Mimi). Though it may also try to re-eat the crystals. They aren't really nutritious, they just like doing it.

(@goldenrodchef) Um. Hi, uh. What do you mean by that you want to find "a way out of this place"? Are you trapped somewhere? -Gen
no, not really trapped, just... I have some bad memories from when I was younger. and like sure, I moved away from home, but... Unova as a whole, and the things going on here, remind me of it more often than I'd like
so when I can save up enough, I want to leave. see some new regions, let Mimi explore to her heart's content. find a safer place for Boldore, one that's a better fit for what they need... that kind of thing
it'll be a slower process that it was since Boldore followed me home, but I mean... hey, the little guy chose me. I can't exactly not take care of him

...yeah, pretty well all things considered. it was more than enough to sustain both me and my pokemon, and even with Boldore around now I'm still able to save a bit up (though much slower). it's not as good as some of the other jobs I've seen, but for something relatively simple it's a really nice place to work
just make sure you do it in a smaller town, preferably off the beaten path, so that you aren't being bombarded by 500 different trainers at once every time a new wave of kids starts their gym challenge

ah yeah, I... have been there before. interesting to hear about the similarities, hopefully nothing's happening there like what Team Plasma was (or is, I stopped paying attention a while ago) trying to pull
(@unova-ex-nuzlocker) I'm not too familiar with Wyndon (haven't left Unova before) but from what I've seen online, it looks enormous. and busy. what's it like working there?
Fellow Unovian here! But yeah it is super busy, I'm surprised traffic isn't as bad as you'd think it'd be but it's kinda similar to Castelia if you've ever been there, I wish the apartments were bigger but it's cozy.

I'm Chloe! I use she/her and I'm 28 years old Just a humble woman living in Galar, I work for the Wyndon station and have a side job at the battle café so if you see me feel free to say hi!

Don't have much going on for me nowadays, back when I was younger I did participate in the league back in Unova and Kalos. Haven't done a proper battle in years.
I know owning shinies can be a bit controversial but Clara was a rescue back in Kalos and Nick I just so happened to hatch when I got his egg, they are both registered and well taken care of and they've been with me for multiple years.
I do have two battle teams but I have not used them for battle in a long time and I can't even use them for battle since I have yet to renew my league registration. Most of my pokemon are at the local pokemon centers keeping area as I don't have enough room for them in my apartment :(
I don't have much to write more than this but I will write more if I have any ideas!
\\\ OOC This blog is run by @whippiekippy This is a roleplay blog that kind of just does its own thing but warning for unreality but other than that idk what else would be going on, just here to have a fun time
This blog goes with general anime logic that Pokémon are sentient and able to communicate accordingly
NO magic anons or NSFW, I will just delete the asks
