Not Trainer School exactly, nothing that official, but I went to this really big camp for Ranger training and let me tell you there were some stories.

The one I remember best is when someone got the bright idea to prepare a ’surprise’ for the participants of an endurance race, apparently also known as setting up Stealth Rock along a fourth of the track. You know. For fun. There were some pretty rough injuries after that.

Then there was also that one guy who’s Wailmer evolved in the middle of the lunch tent. That was a mess to clean up, especially with a pretty recently evolved Galvantula underneath the thing.

I have a somewhat similar one, from when I was working towards my PokéCare certification a few years ago. There was this one Psyduck in the training grounds, really angry fella, he would try and pick a fight with anything that moved.

One day, a Drifloon got close enough to get him going, so he started chasing it. The Drifloon didn’t particularily like that, so it started floating off like they tend to.

But that Psyduck wasn’t going to give up. He climed some boxes and managed to get onto the roof of a shed. And then he jumped, visibly realised he wouldn’t reach halfway through it, evolved all of a sudden and fell flat on his face.

What’s the weirdest way you’ve seen a Pokémon evolve?

The "weirdest" evo I've seen would be Chompy, no doubt. She evolved from a Gabite to a Garchomp, not 'cause of a battle or a dangerous situation, but 'cause she got so fixated on running after a Carbink that was floating away that she decided she needed to FLY in order to catch it.
