◣♔◢ — The mention of a son struck a chord in him the moment she spoke of him; he knew, yes, that she'd birthed the child of another Fable (the identity of the luckless man that had incurred the wrath of the Snow Queen eluded him at the moment) though he hadn't sensed any disturbances in any of his own realms. If he left her, he was, no doubt, refraining from using his his abilities, whether as a precaution or simply coincidence. Perhaps his underlings were just as unlucky as he was, when it came to kinship.
“And you've no idea where either can be found? Who is his father? It would be no trouble to search for him, and I've no doubt it won't take long.”
Tumblr media
He didn't much know to console Lumi; he had trouble with all seven of his own sons, though they were all of his own fault. His nature had betrayed Winter, and by extension, his kin. Though he had no love to offer her in her final days of mourning, he had enough regret for the two of them. He had no doubt that she cared for her son, obviously--she wouldn't be so worried if she wasn't, and what mother wouldn't care for her children so unconditionally?
Lumi was never one to portray her true emotions to anyone outside her inner most circle of trusted acquaintances, however at this current moment in time she had none on which to call upon for such a delicate manner as this. It was so very unlike her to feel vulnerable, and yet the Snow Queen felt herself in the unfortunate predicament of asking the mighty North Wind to be the one in which she confided in. Her bitter, shallow ways broke cleanly for one person only, and thus the issue was no doubt rooted in him. She lowered her hand in favour for hugging her forearms close to her, and raised her troubled eyes to him.
Tumblr media
"My Son, North. He is the source of that which ails me so," she stated feebly, her voice a low note carried by the icy drift that collected about her, swayed by her impenetrable emotions. "He seeks the crude, ill-mannered man that is his father and has abandoned me.” Her despair seemed natural, though none would understand the true pain such an act caused her. She lived for her child; a concept many would never have thought her capable of.

◣♔◢ — His expression took a turn towards impassive, though his tired old eyes betrayed concern. Personal issue or no, it must've been important to trouble someone like the Snow Queen, normally shallow malice and sarcasm, and biting remarks should the mood strike her.
“Any notion is only foolish if it or its intentions are not truly understood. If something is troubling you, you should have someone to speak to it about.”
Tumblr media
“If you don't wish to, I won't press the matter, though I am willing to help, should you seek my assistance.”
The Snow Queen watched with little amusement as the North King erupted into laughter at her expense, though not out of malice or spite. She smiled politely, realizing her folly. How foolish of she to think that the King of the North Wind couldn’t conduct all business in one sitting, at one time. “Indeed, you are. Was your thought of my company merely something pleasing to pass the time while you did so? How cruel of you to think so little of me, North!” She laughed herself, a melodic sound that caressed those around her; a rare sound.
However, her smile faded as the snow does melt when he spoke of a possible distraction, her eyes flicking downcast for a moment before returning to his presence once more.
Tumblr media
"I am, yes— though it is rather personal to me. I wouldn’t trouble you with such foolishness that I can quell myself,” she explained, sighing lightly. “Though, I fear it may not be enough,” she raised a hand to her forehead, consumed with thought.

◣♔◢ — A great boom of a chuckle escaped the North Wind, and his lips twitched in the wryest of smiles, his amusement all too evident. Yes, he did have business to deal with--it was simply that he was quite skilled at multitasking.
“And I assure you I'm dealing with it, at this very moment. Chris sends his regards, so you know, though only a sidenote. My time is precious, and it is with great honesty that I say I'm justified in spending some of it here.”
Tumblr media
“You seem, and I apologize if my concern is misfounded, to be somewhat distracted. Does some matter ail you, Lumi? And in any manner can I assist you, should there be a problem?”
Watching him with intrigued blue eyes, Lumi inclined her head politely to the King of the North Wind, it evident that her chosen décor was not to his own personal preference. “Dearest North,” she began softly, her hand extending from her side to catch the gently falling snow that accompanied her person, “I would never delude myself into thinking that I could commit atrocities and not be discovered, especially if they were of a distasteful nature that you despise.” She stated, a small smile curving her blue lips.
Tumblr media
"I am content to have been visited, however you mustn’t think me wary or on edge for wondering why. Your time is precious, and there is no doubt business at hand you must pay attention to." She explained, allowing the snow to gently flit from her hand.

◣♔◢ — "... afternoon to you, Lumi.”
Though great in decoration and elegance, worthy of royalty in its own nature, this great hall of the Snow Queen's did little to appeal to his senses, aside from a pleasant chill air. A moment of thought, and he concluded the same could be said of Lumi herself.
Tumblr media
"Perhaps you could say it's simply a personal visit. Unless you were expecting me to make an appearance, I have no reason to hold any grievance with you.”
Tumblr media
"To what do I owe the pleasurable company of you, North Wind?”
