God I hope friend-sibling-roommates Santos and Whitaker are Robby’s special children next season and I hope Langdon has a full aneurysm about it. Love him but I hope it almost kills him truly

all this being said re: robby going on sabbatical and noah wyle talking about "fifteen hours to maybe fall in love" and sepideh moafi coming in as the new attending if they do try to force a romance between those two rather than letting sepideh continue her long and wonderful streak of playing hot queer women on television i will not be pumped i'll tell you that for free
#I would slash noah wyle’s tires#it’s robby being haunted by collins or NOTHING#we need mommy issues mel king yuri with her

if it turns out noah means 15 hours is just enough for robby to fall in love with the new attending that’s coming on, I will be taking a hammer to my TV
john wells last week: 'this is not where you’re going to get your romantic dr. ross and nurse hathaway story, and it’s a bit liberating' (in regards to traditional slow burn) followed by noah wyle this week: 'it's just enough time, 15 hours, to maybe fall in love'

#like not to make everything about my dead ship#but going forward every possible romantic flame of robby’s is going to feel a bit forced to me knowing it was always meant to be heather#in one way or another#also a lot of wells’ interview had major undertones of damage control re collins’ leaving/HER getting fired#the pitt

NO STOP because the idea of an inverse robbycollins reheating of dougcarol’s season 5-6 arc on ER where heather leaves the pitt when her residency ends to take a lucrative position in seattle in order to be closer to her family in portland.
on her last night in pittsburgh, they sleep together and robby is the one begging her to stay, but he wakes up in the morning and she’s gone.
on the season 2 Fourth of July shift because she left the city and him the night before dr. yearntron3000 walks around the pitt pretending not to be devastated by her absence, and suppressing all the anger and regret, until it’s a little over 4 months later and heather shows back up in pittsburgh unannounced and visibly pregnant with his child.
she tells him that she didn’t think the pregnancy would even get this far, but now that she’s reached the 20 week point for the first time she’s committed to her previous plan of being a single mother, with or without his support, and that he shouldn’t bother to come to seattle and try to work things out.
oh, and also it’s twins.
dana is the only other person who knows that heather had been back in pittsburgh while robby spirals in silence over what to do. jack only finds out after he has to force the truth out of him when he finds him having a panic attack on the roof one night.
neither heather nor robby want to try and force something to work just for the sake of the kids, yet both want the other back in their lives, and of course they’re too stubborn to admit it.
robby eventually resigns himself to the fact that maybe he isn’t meant to be a father and that the twins and heather will be better off if she raises them alone with his financial support from afar, falling back into his habit of focusing only on the people he couldn’t save.
but then a case with a child and their shitty absentee father makes him realize that he can’t let himself hurt heather and their kids like that, so he abruptly leaves at the end of his shift to take a flight to seattle and try to win heather back.
despite heather’s initial shock, they fuck again that first night that robby’s in seattle. it’s passionate and reverent and emotional, and for a moment it seems like maybe they’re going to be able to rekindle and make things work after all. but they end up arguing the whole rest of the weekend.
yet just as robby is heading to his flight back to pittsburgh, heather goes into labor four weeks early and he’s there to help deliver his twin daughters.
he gets suspended after spending nearly two months away without following the proper leave of absence protocol to be in seattle to help heather recover. the recklessness angers heather, leading to a fight about how they actually plan on making this work with both of them hesitant to uproot their lives to the other side of the country (again, in heather’s case).
when his suspension is over, robby returns to the pitt and over the next few months we learn he’s been flying to seattle every few weeks to see his daughters while things are still tense with heather.
heather struggles to raise the girls alone while balancing her career and untangling her emotions about robby. dana not so subtly informs her that there’s an attending position newly open at PTMC.
a case with a terminal patient saying goodbye to her loved ones leads her to realize she’s always been in love with robby. on a whim, she decides to apply for the position, then leaves the twins with her mother and flies to pittsburgh to try and fix things with robby because girl #fuck the lawsuit.
she gets the attending position and heather and robby raise their girls together in pittsburgh, finally allowing themselves to have everything they were too scared of.
(alternate ending where robby is the one who decides to leave and move to seattle, promoting samira mohan the youngest chief attending of emergency medicine in history and the show is now samira leading with the first day four™️ now all as attendings because robby’s sudden running off to seattle gives us a whole season of samira running the pitt by herself for the first time a la s4e15 john carter yup yup YUP like I know y’all see the vision here)
#here wells and wyle I changed it just enough for you so it’s not too obvious#anyways this got away from me#she’s hallucinating your honor#girl the lawsuit#the pitt#robbycollins#robby x collins#dr robby#heather collins#michael robinavitch#ER#the pitt headcanons

Writing Jewish Characters (The Pitt)
hey y'all, (this is a bit of rant) i see a lot of people writing the pitt fanfics where robby's a dad, which i love! in many of these fics his kids are named after him or someone still alive. robby is a jewish character and something that is very different about judaism than other religions is that children are never named after someone alive. the general idea is that the angel of death could get confused. i know that there isn't tons of knowledge known about judaism so it totally makes sense for people to make these mistakes, but robby is jewish and i believe it's an important part of his character.
if anyone has any questions about judaism please ask me, your local jew!
edit: I am half sephardic and half ashkenazi (what robby is) so thats where my knowledge mostly comes from
#fics where his kid is named michael jr have never sat right with me bc I think he’d be weirded out by naming a kid after himself#and then learning this really confirmed that feeling for me#the pitt#dr robby

Trinity mentioning the show Friends to Javadi implies that the episode Noah Wyle guest started on exists in the Pitt universe which implies that ER exists in the Pitt universe which implies that John Carter exists in the Pitt universe.
Was Robby watching ER as a med student? Was he going out and picking up girls who fawned over him looking JUST LIKE tv doctor John Carter?

i think that, in addition to many other things, what javadi really values about mckay as a mentor is that she immediately sees javadi as an equal. when javadi gives her "i'm 20 and i deserve to be here" spiel, mckay's first response is something along the lines of "wait that's so cool. and believe me, i know how it feels. i'm a 42 year old R2." she doesn't really dwell on javadi's age and continues with the typical small talk (what rotations have you done, do you have a specialty chosen, etc). for javadi, who's used to proving herself worthy of her spot to everyone including her own parents, it's probably so refreshing to have a mentor who's first instinct is to treat her just like anyone else. mckay doesn't give her special treatment, even teasing javadi in the same ways she messes with other coworkers she's known for much longer and not hesitating to call her out when she messes up or makes assumptions. prior to this, it's implied that javadi is used to people either a) assuming she doesn't belong due to her age, b) walking on eggshells around her because her mom is peering around the corner, or c) some combination of both. for mckay to just...not care and treat javadi like any other med student is what starts off their relationship so strong. mckay's used to people assuming things about her, so she's not about to do that to anyone else, and it's exactly what javadi needs to feel like she's able to do her own thing.
