It was inevitable, with all these people squashed together in a crowd, that a fight would break out. Well, less of a fight, more like people trying to initiate a mosh pit to an artist that didn’t inspire one - in this case, Tyga. Bodies kept getting flung into Leo’s side, and he kept pushing them away, only for another to come his way, getting involved without really meaning to.
Someone else came flinging towards him, pushed by whoever, and Leo grabbed, instead, ready to tell whoever it was off for standing on his beautiful shoes when the blonde girl looked at him. Really looked to, the sort you give someone you know but haven’t seen in a while. “Tessa!” He yelled in her face with a large grin, excitement lighting up his green eyes. “Tessa! It’s me! Hey!”
Tessa was more than a little out of her depth in the middle of the mosh pit, surrounded by several people who were not only taller than her, but stronger than she could ever be. She wasn’t even sure how she got into Tyga’s set. She remembers a few shots, two boys, and the rest being history... She was flung about, pushed by different people, and she tried not to show that she was slowly becoming more unnerved by the second. That is, until a familiar pair of hands grabbed her, hands that she hadn’t seen in years. She looked at his face, his mop of dark curls, and a bright grin split across her lips. “Leo! Oh my God.” She flung her arms around his neck, pulling herself all the more closer to the man she’d assumed she’d left behind in Milan. “What are you doing here? I--Can we go somewhere I could hear you better?”

“Honestly, I’m still surprised we have it,” she admitted with a laugh. It had been a while since they had played the game, but as soon as they started, it felt like just yesterday. She looped her arm through Tessa’s as they followed the boys they defeated, who were a bit miffed over losing, but also seemed eager to get them some drinks. “How long do you think we can use these guys for drinks before ditching?” she whispered to Tessa.
Tessa clung to her friend tightly, leaning into her as they followed the boys. “Oh, a few more rounds, at least. I want to be drunk before we leave,” she whispered back, giggle on her lips. It felt good, hanging out with Chloe like these again. Life had all felt so serious lately, and with her friend so close, it almost felt like she was in college again. When things weren’t perfect, but they were a little bit lighter. “I want something fruity, boys!”

“I am, actually,” Connor admitted, though he had a feeling Tessa wasn’t about to let that continue - and she affirmed it a moment later. He gave an exaggerated groan, “C’mon Tessa, you know I hate being in the middle of crowds.” He waved his hands absently in the air around his head to indicate the on slot of motion and noise that was sure to fill his head if he got mixed up in the crowds. He was having just as much of a good time at Monster Jam enjoying the music from here. He had doubts about Tessa’s idea. “Why you gotta ruin my fun?”
“But you’ll have me, Connor,” Tessa responded, fully intending to drag her friend out whether he wanted to or not. While she understood what it might not be pleasant for long stretches of time, she hated the idea of him being all alone. It seemed so sad at an event such as this. She gave an exaggerated pout, leaning into him. “I’m fun. And I want to dance with my friend.” She reached for his hands, hoping he would give into her. “One song. Just one, and I’ll come back here and give you some peace and quiet. Please, Connor?”

This time, Maddie was going all out. It was already the middle of all the event and she was getting used to the massive crowds. Though not so much that she was roaming freely in the middle of them all. She still stayed to the sidelines, avoiding anyone who walked directly at her. What also didn’t help, was the fact that she always felt in a fight or flight mode, ready to bold, or ready to hit someone in the nose. Something she remembered her dad teaching her when she was a little girl.
With the cocktails in her hand, she made her way to the table with two other girls. “Okay, I swear to god, people here creep everything out of me. I don’t know why am I not shivering.” She grinned, placing the drinks on the table. “But… Why shouldn’t we have fun, right?”
@untriggeredtessahastings @amberhorne
Tessa, ever the reckless idiot, had been having the time of her life at Monster Jam. She’d relived parts of her childhood, met one of her new icons, and generally had a fun time. Unlike her friend, she seemed to not notice that she didn’t quite belong in events like this. “Maddie, you have to learn to calm down sometime,” she teased, though she meant in in good fun. She took a cocktail from her friend, taking a sip of the drink. She needed this. “But yeah, we should have fun. We deserve to have as good a time as anyone.”

top 5 hottest people in town?
HONESTY HOUR
“I mean, a lot of people are in town for Monster Jam, so that’s just not a fair question. I mean, I can’t put Lizzo and Rhianna down an equal number of times. One would have to win out, and I’m just not ready to make that kind of decision yet.”

An adventure you haven't gone on yet, but would like to?
HONESTY HOUR
“I never got to go running with the bulls in Spain. And I’ve never been… in one of those shark cages. I’d love to see the Great Barrier Reef before it’s gone. And I’ve never been caving, not anywhere! Honestly, there’s so much I’d love to do that I don’t think I have anywhere near enough time to do it all. But isn’t that part of the fun?”

Maybe it was something about the town being full of supernaturals, but something about a man following her around the event was even more alarming than it would normally be - which was still quite a bit. He shoved that thought out of his mind, sure he was just being paranoid. After all, he could just be a normal creepy guy, and hopefully after Kip went on the ride with her, he would leave her alone. “I understand.” He said softly, giving her a small smile again. “Oh, really? Yours isn’t too bad either.” He winked playfully, that serious side of him gone again, now that they were onto a new subject. “I sound like your little brother? Not exactly the highest praise, for someone over two hundred years old.” He said with a laugh. “No, not anymore. When they were invented people were very scared of them, though. Besides, I think if it broke and collapsed it would be much more exciting.” Kip followed behind her into the yellow car, and sat down on the little bench, turning towards her only slightly to keep their conversation going normally.
“Thanks. Glad to know I don’t look like a total creep.” Tessa was beyond thankful when he started smiling again, not much in the mood for someone worrying over her at a music festival. She just wanted to throw the guy off, hopefully send him on his merry way, and then have a good time dancing with her friends. Maybe spend some more time with this handsome stranger, if she played her cards right. She giggled a bit at his words. “Well, my brother’s kind of a kid genius type, so you should be honored, really.” She hoped Levi was doing well at home with Chase. She’d be babysitting him another day, having decided to split up the Festival days with her brother. “Yeah, I’ve read up on the history of Ferris Wheels. Weird that they’re so tame now, given what else we have.” She watched as they closed the door behind Kip, only then looking out to catch the stranger’s eye. Fuck, still out there. She sighed, before realizing that she was still holding his hand. She chose to ignore that, turning her attention to her new companion instead. “He’s just watching me... Like, that’s creepy, right?” The ride started up, moving them to load another couple onto the next car.

Though she already had a few drinks, it made Chloe surprisingly better at playing beer pong. “The dynamic duo strikes again!” she exclaimed, high-fiving her partner Tessa, having won their third game in a row together. The boys across the table looking for disgruntled at losing, but she hardly seemed to notice. “I guess all those years ago with us playing at your school parties really paid off.” ( @untriggeredtessahastings )
Tessa squealed as Chloe won them their game, high-fiving her friend. The whole routine felt just like old times, back in London, where she and the witch were damn near unstoppable at any sort of party game. “We definitely got some good practice in. Maybe we should go Pro.” A competitive streak ran in both, and she relished in their third victory in a row as she looked over at the boys across from them. “Oh, c’mon, boys! We made a deal; three wins in a row, and you’d buy us drinks. I want something fruity.”

The vampire cracked a smile again, amused by the compliment. “Thanks, it was a gift.” To be honest, he couldn’t remember a time before he was Kip. Christopher was only a name for when he was in trouble, when he was a kid. As the blonde leaned closer and spoke of a man following her, however, the smile on Kip’s face faltered slightly and he nodded a bit, immediately understanding why she would grab someone else to ride with her. “How do you know I’m not even creepier than him?” He asked teasingly. “Yeah, it’s fine. let’s go.” He took a step towards the next car on the ride once they were ushered to, specifically not looking back at the man she was talking about. “What’s to lose? Our heads, maybe, if the whole thing collapses. But you’ll be in a lot more risk than I am if that’s the case, so I’m good either way.”
Tessa could see the change in Kip’s face when she told him there was someone following her, and she offered up her best grin to try and appease him. “Probably nothing, and I normally wouldn’t freak, but--” But she’d rather be safe than sorry for once. There were a number of thrills on Tessa’s bucketlist, and being stuck in a confined space with someone who’s been following her was not on that list. “Oh, honey, not with that face. You’d have to work hard to be creepy,” she teased right back, keeping his hand pretty firmly in hers as they walked forward. If they looked like a couple, if the guy behind her understood that her little human self was maybe taken by someone who could take him on, he’d leave her alone. Soft giggles left her mouth at his words, and she shook her head. “You sound like my little brother. Founder’s Day this year, and he’s going on and on about ride failures.” She steps inside the car, a nice bright yellow, and waits for him to follow behind. “I’ve been on worse things than this. You scared of a little Ferris Wheel?”

Kip wasn’t the type of man to get easily bothered by things. For example, an attractive woman forcing him to sit next to her and talk for a few minutes on a ride? It really wasn’t that big a deal. It wasn’t like he was absolutely dying to see any of the bands, anyway. “Fair enough, I suppose.” He told her, chuckling softly at her logic. “Christopher. But most people call me Kip.” Mostly because he introduced himself as such, most of the time. “Oh, I might just take you up on that. You’re really that invested in a ferris wheel?”
Kip. “Cute nickname.” Tessa knew that it was a child’s logic, but in the moment, it seemed like a good enough way to keep him around. She moved a little closer, her hand still holding his as they made their way up the line. “There’s been this guy following me,” she admits. “And I just want to ride the Ferris Wheel without worrying about getting stuck with him.” She takes a small breath, daring herself to not look back at whoever had been following her. She knew it was probably nothing, and it’s not like these things normally freaked her out, but Monster Jam brought a lot of people to the area. “So you get to be my knight in shining armor, and I get you a few good drinks” She flashes him a charming grin, hardly noticing as the couple in front of them was being ushered into their car. “I mean, what’s to lose?”

While current Tessa might have been the most excited to see Lizzo, there was one performer that Tessa as a child would have killed to see--Britney Spears. And, as Tessa took a little time for a Human Team french fry break, she could hear her old icon playing somewhere nearby. She nearly squealed as she caught wind of her, turning to Amber. ”Okay, I swear to you, I used to know the choreography for Baby One More Time by heart. Honest!” She chuckled a little at the memory, remembering how her sister had laughed as she tried to recreate the whole schoolgirl outfit from the video. Part of her wishes she still had a version of that outfit. “We should go... Humans gotta stick together, and I have to see Britney.” She shoved a few fries into her mouth, trying to finish them quicker.

Kip wasn’t super into the carnival rides portion of the Monster Jam. He had never experienced that kind of thing as a child - they were only invented in his seventies, so while the initial intrigue got him to ride those kinds of things as they were popularized, he simply lost interest. Besides, without someone to go on them with, there was no point. He simply planned to walk through the area towards one of the concerts, when his hand was grabbed by a stranger. “Why do you have to drag a stranger to ride it with you?” He asked with a raised eyebrow, an amused glint in his eye. “And how do you plan to repay me, exactly?”
Tessa was thankful that the man she’d picked at random was allowing her to drag him along like this, knowing it’s not likely that she’s picked another human in all of this mess. The man was still watching her, perhaps a little put off seeing the small human just hold this man’s hand. She kept their hands together, just in case that was the reason. “It’s a big venue. I don’t see anyone I know, and you were honestly the first person I saw.” She offered him a bright smile. “I’m Tessa. Tell me your name, and we won’t be strangers.” She paused for a moment, trying to think up a way to repay him. “I can buy your next five drinks, if that sounds good? If not, honestly, I’ll do right about anything. Just ride the ride.”

Tessa had been feeling good all day. She’d seen Lizzo, a literal American icon, in the flesh for the first time, had gotten decently tipsy while jamming out to ABBA, and had been on numerous rides throughout the day. She lived for days like these, moments when she could ignore the little problems she had been ignoring in her everyday life. Little problems like the one she was about to bump into in line for another drink. “I--Mark.” She took a small pause, not quite knowing how to react around him. She figured, in that moment, to wait for him to make the first move. See how he reacts.

“Hey, so I don’t mean to be one of those people, but I need your help.” Tessa had been excited to ride the Ferris Wheel that day, no Levi in sight to make her ride the thing five times in a row. However, the second she got close to the line is when she noticed someone following her. Some guy she’d seen at a bar the night before, and she didn’t like that at all. Which is what led to her pulling a poor, unsuspecting stranger into the line with her, hand held tightly onto his. “You just need to ride this with me once, and I swear, I will repay the favor.”

@untriggeredtessahastings
Monster Jam was one of Connor’s favorite events. He loved being able to hear the music live, to just sit down and drown in the lyrics for a few hours. One thing he wasn’t so fond of that came along with the event? The crowds. He never got on well with crowds; they were overwhelming to his senses, what with all the noise and motion. But he had a place off to the side that tended to be a little less crowded and kept him plenty close to the stage to hear the music. It wasn’t like it mattered much whether he saw the bands or not, after all. So he was settled upon a low stone wall, sipping his drink from a plastic cup and bobbing his head to the beat. It took a minute for him to sense who had approached and settled beside him given all the noise and movement, but after a minute he smiled gently. “Hey Tess. Enjoying the concert?”
It was only Tessa’s second year of Monster Jam. Her parents hadn’t wanted her traveling up all that way when she was younger, and, once she was old enough, she had school and traveling and the proper time never seemed to line up. Being a resident of Hollow Grove gave her no excuse, and after attending last year, she’d been looking forward to having fun again this time. She loved everything about the music festival--the crowds, the music, the atmosphere. However, sometimes she enjoyed taking a step back for a moment so she could breathe a little bit. And Connor... well, he’d seemed all alone in his own little world, and that wouldn’t do. It was Monster Jam. She sat down next to him, beer in hand as she bopped around to the music. She bumped her shoulder into his as he noticed her. “Yeah. You enjoying sitting over here by yourself?” she teased, offering him a smile in return. “You know I can’t let you do that, Connor.”

Eric had finally decided to come out of the hole he had built for himself the last few days, and begrudgingly chosen to rejoin the outside world. But to do so, it would first require coffee – preferably with a lot of bourbon. Eric walked down the street aimed at his favorite coffee place. He was so deeply in thought whether he wanted the chocolate or the blueberry scone that he nearly ran into the small younger women. She was becoming more and more familiar, and Eric couldn’t think of a better person to run into then someone like her and her spunky quick-witted personality, Tessa. “After you,” he stated a smile pulling on his lips as he opened the door for her.
@untriggeredtessahastings
The past few days, Tessa had skipped her morning exercise, the cooler air making her want to do nothing more than snuggle up in bed. But she’d somehow found the strength to get up and go this morning, bright and early. Now she was in desperate need of coffee, and could think of no better place than The Society. If she was lucky, Connor would have her drink ready when she came in. As she neared the door, she almost missed the looming shadow heading her way. Almost. “Eric,” she greeted cheerily, watching as he started opening the door. “You know, when people say that they run into each other often, they don’t mean literally, right?” She could think of a few better ways for him to get her on her back, but she bit back the words, giving him a sly smile as she moved through the opened door.
