        So... after this spring semester I’m hoping to come back here. Keyword: HOPING. I miss writing, and life has been a progress to get back to some form of normal when so many good and bad changes happened all at once. Life just gets chaotic and hard when you least expect it, but eventually, things have to get better. Or I’m hopeful that they will. I hope everyone has been doing well and taking care of themselves! <3333

       “...n-no.” It isn’t that Waver wants to lie on purpose, and it isn’t as if he can lie directly to Arash’s face. The Archer is too nice, too friendly, too... everything. He looks down at his feet, fingers fidgeting at the bottom of his sweater. There were excuses he could give if he really wanted, but all of them sounded stupid when he rehearsed them in his head. All of it had been to cover up the fact that he had only witnessed one of the child Servants put chewed gum in one of Arash’s pockets, and that Waver had tried to fix it and made it worse. How was he supposed to know that hot water would have made it melt and get stickier?! Then when he tried to do some fire magecraft, the entire pocket went up in flames. He knew how to do laundry, but not intensive leather repair! 

       Looking up from curtained hair, Waver can only frown and pout, sighing in defeat. “I don’t even chew gum, okay? I didn’t even give anyone any gum, so it’s not like it is my fault, y’know. Geez. I tried to fix it, so... just don’t be mad at me. Maybe you shouldn’t leave your stuff around... or yeah.”

       What is that supposed to mean? No one in his position would want to feel anything. A magus should be numb to the unfortunate, to not allow their emotions to be worn on the hem of their sleeve for the enemy could use it against them. Yet, as much as he is a magus, El-Melloi II is more human and visibly so. He can wear a mask when the times calls for it and steady his hands if to feign being brave, but to say he feels so loudly, that is both an overstatement as it is nowhere close to how he feels. Pursing his lips, he rights his posture and stares ahead, looking elsewhere than down at Yan Qing. 

       “Do you enjoy feeling things then? It is an unnecessary waste of time to allow emotions to get the better of us at a dire moments,” he starts, a lecture at the tip of his tongue.  “To feel and speak of them, you know as well as I do...” Gaze narrows, eyes very much so at the wall while attention is fully given to the Assassin. “I do not do such... things. Not in untrustworthy company at least. If you have been witness to it, you must know then my opinion of yourself.”

       Small talk is tedious, wasteful, and ultimately, exhausting. He has no interest in discussing the weather or making idle chit-chat to fill dead air. Conversation should be meaningful.        A pause is given, noting the tone his words might be misunderstood. “...not that I speak ill of you or suspect you would do such a thing.” He and Koto might not have been close, but he takes pride in his judgement of character. Being able to read the details of another person and decipher between lines of who they are; that much he knows how to do. 

        “You seem to be the sort to feel guilty from using one’s secrets against them.”
