Analogue and Digital in watches and audio recording
Analogue means a representation of the real thing.  An analogue watch has hands which are representative of the shadow of the sun going round as on a sundial.
Digital read-outs, just mean the display uses digits.  There can be an analogue digital watch.
Vinyl records were produced from recordings on magnetic tape, also analogue, the sound literally moving a cutting needle in the blank master disc. The sound made its own form in the groove.  Other master discs were then produced from the original and these produce a "pressing" for the retail records.
The reason the sound is more natural is partly that all the frequencies produced by the music affect the cuts in the groove, even those frequencies we can't hear.  This results in a more rounded, natural sound.
Compact discs and especially MP3 files, use compression, which cuts out the sounds we can't hear to save storage space, resulting in a different quality of sound.
When they were first released, a lot of people thought that CDs gave a better, sharper sound quality.  Serious audiophiles have pointed out that if you spent as much money as a CD player cost, on a better cartridge, you got the high quality sound from that as well.
The more materialistic of the two the analogue pressed vinyl records, tend to enhance the user experience with their seemingly better sound quality.  However, this enhancement could be offset by the less convenient mode of operation.

Research into how the materiality of books affects can affect people with dyslexia
Literary Media and Dyslexia
Estimates vary, but at least 10% of the population are affected by dyslexia. Some stylistic approaches to page layout and design can help dyslexics to read more easily.
Colour choices can have a great effect on how easily a dyslexic person can find reading, either from a physical paper book or a digital display.
The use of black and white can be an effective way of making an image appear more graphic and even clearer as there is no colour to distract from the impact of the content.
Colour has advantages which may not be obvious. Colour can be used to add interest or highlight important text and a colour image gives a completely different impression to one in black and white.
Backgrounds in warm colours like peach; orange; yellow or cream, make the view of the page seem less harsh and easier for a person with dyslexia to read from. The same applies to the use of blue for writing. The hard distinction of black and white is actually a disadvantage for someone with dyslexia. Clear fonts such as Arial also help.

Board game materiality
Rogerson, M. J., Gibbs, M., & Smith, W. (2016, May). " I Love All the Bits" The Materiality of Boardgames. In Proceedings of the 2016 CHI conference on human factors in computing systems (pp. 3956-3969).
A research paper about how materiality affects a players view of enjoying a boardgame, while also comparing the physical boardgames with their online counterparts.  The view held by most avid players being that the gameplay experience was enhanced by the tactile components and allowed for greater expression during the game.

Research into process and daily rituals
The importance of having daily rituals as being more than just routines.  How the self placed importance of these can give a boost to your mood; adding a sense of predictability and calmness to the moment.  I have found that these practices can relate to mindfulness.
“Daily rituals are meaningful practices and are internally motivated.”
I can link these theories with the process of setting up and listening to a vinyl record.
