Palestine Action managed to sabotage two RAF planes at a UK base before they left for RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus. This is the location from which the RAF provides arms, supplies, and direct support to the Israeli military, including flying surveillance and target-gathering missions over Gaza. So, naturally, the British government is now moving to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation, with Keir Starmer claiming they're a threat to 'those who defend us'. This is a desperate and pitiful decision, one that only proves how effective Palestine Action has been in frustrating the UK's support for the Israeli war machine. And as the song of the French Partisans goes, if they're taken down, someone else will take their place.

"Claire's mam has got lymphedema, she's oozing, honestly she's about to split! It's her feet where it's coming out. She needs. Proper. Medical. Care.
God... The world's gone to hell!"
Not seen my mam for a week and I'm getting an update on whose ill / close to death, as you do, on this beautiful sunny day

Amid these hardships, there were also acts of quiet heroism and ingenuity. One remarkable example comes from Carrozzeria Castagna’s exile in Venegono: the Castagna team undertook a clandestine operation modifying cars for high-ranking German officers – ostensibly to make luxury staff cars – but in reality they engineered hidden compartments in these vehicles.
With the cover of “test drives” and using the officers’ own cars as a shield, Ercole Castagna and his collaborators Giuseppe Seregni and Giuseppe Barni covertly used these vehicles to smuggle Jewish refugees and Allied escapees across the Swiss border to safety.
Under the nose of the Nazi occupiers, Italian coachbuilders turned cars into life-saving hiding places – an incredible story of risk and resourcefulness. In these darkest days, the artisans of Italian coachbuilding not only preserved their craft but also their humanity.

The UK should have gone down the italian route of buying and building small / tiny cars. In terms of land mass we're smaller than italy and most of our cities are built on tiny bits of land.
But instead we've copied the dumb americans and gone down the giant status-symbol SUV route even though a lot of em like the Defender 110s, 130s, XC90s etc barely fit on our roads and don't fit in any our car parks.
A lot of SUVs are underpowered too. And ugly. I say this as someone with a small SUV (had a small car and nearly died 10 months after passing my test when we were hit by a bigger car at 40mph).
I saw some stats that said more 50% of cars sold every day are SUVs, so given I'm a new driver I feel like I have to join em cos there's only one winner when a 2 ton SUV hits a 1 ton reasonably-sized car. If we'd have been hit by a Defender for example we'd probably have been killed.

Hey do all the people (mainly Yanks) who see Wigan, its food and its dialect as punchlines more than actual real aspects of people's lives know that the reason mushy pea runoff is "as good as gravy" there is because it's been an infamously poor, neglected working-class town for over a hundred years, and you think they "sound funny" because they're actually speaking Lancashire dialect English

Stephen Fry giving a lecture at oxford uni where he refers to the children abused in Rotherham as "child prostitutes"
What we have here is a privately educated oxbridge nonce speaking as though his view is knowledge, and coming from a prejudiced anti working class perspective where he sees 12 year old working class girls in skirts from deprived areas like my estate as "game"
Thick cunt

10 years ago when I was cleaning I nearly bankrupted the family buying a 400 quid Aircon unit
It took about a year ago to financially recover from it
However, what a fucking difference it makes in this heat. You get sleep more than anything so you're not trying to function in 35 degree heat with severe sleep deprivation
