In this week’s Pod People, the mSW team answer some Reylo-relevant questions. Skip to the 59 minute mark to hear them discuss future Skywalker babies, Rey and Kylo romance, their virgin!Kylo headcanons and more.
Here are some choice quotes:
“Yeah, I mean who needs another celibate Jedi, let her like Kylo, whoever!”
“He’s not getting fucked, let’s be honest, anyone who’s beating up inanimate objects that hard? They need some kind of release.”
“When he took the helmet off, there was that pause with her in the movie, where she just looked at him and [gasp] oh, you’re not a monster.”
“If it went that way, on the Reylo thing, I don’t care, that would be fine, if the storytelling’s good and it makes sense, then I’m all for it. Some people think it’s an absurd notion that Rey and Kylo could have a romance, but if you recall back during episode VII when we first heard about the mind control stuff, we heard that there were going to be huge ramifications for that mind link that they had, and what they knew about each other. And there were huge ramifications in that film, but it was supposed to radiate beyond that film, beyond The Force Awakens.”
“I worry that if they had it in the films it would be like her love curing his dark side…it could definitely work if they had the right writers to do it…there are too many bad ways for it to go.”
“I would assume that if they went in that direction, they’d have a really great idea to make it work, so I’d be really interested to see it, because it’s something I don’t expect.”
“On paper, for what it is, I can see Rian Johnson doing that movie, in that way. But Colin Trevorrow? Not so much.”
“I would still like to see there be some kind of romance in the film that is meaningful, though.”
“It would be weird to have Star Wars without a really strong love relationship, i guess - like I’m ok with Rey ending up a badass jedi lady who don’t need no love, but also no romance in Star Wars at all would just feel really weird.”

There were a couple of times I looked at Adam like, ‘EEEEEE!’ and then obviously it was nice because I was laughing at bits. I think I’d much prefer to watch it together because you get a sense of how other people are feeling as well, and that’s exciting. But we all went downstairs and we didn’t really talk about it. We sat around and I had some pie because it was the day after Thanksgiving and pretended like we hadn’t just seen it.
Daisy Ridley on the experience of watching The Force Awakens for the first time with Adam Driver and Carrie Fisher (via starwarsnonsense)
Daisy legit fan-girled with Adam. If this isn’t enough to put to rest the ridiculous “they don’t get along” rumors, then some people simply have their heads too firmly and deeply inserted into their favorite stinky hidey-hole.
Also, now I want pie.

The in-depth discussion behind this tweet. Really an amazing discovery! Except (naturally) I don’t agree with them saying that because ‘Across the Stars’ is potentially hinted at in Rey’s Theme, it’s implied that she may be a Skywalker. To the contrary, I think the fact that Anakin and Padme’s love theme is subtly referenced in Rey’s Theme implies something else entirely… ;)
