A/N: So let me just start off by saying, I am not a writer and i have no idea what the heck this is. I was really just in my feelings last night and I thought maybe writing something would help me get it off my chest and honestly I think it did. I guess if you decide to read this, enjoy!? Let me know your thoughts.
Warnings: mild swearing, somewhat OOC Tsukishima??
Summary: In which you’re sad and Tsukki comforts you.
“Hey dumbas- what’s wrong?” Tsukishima’s playful tone switches to one of genuine concern as he pauses at the sight of you curled up on your bed facing the wall. He stands just past the door frame of your offwhite bedroom staring at your unmoving form. At the sound of your boyfriend’s voice you quickly wipe the tears off your face in a poor attempt to compose yourself before turning to look at him.
“I didn’t know you were coming over,” you manage to say, trying hard to keep your voice from cracking. Worry crosses Tsukishima’s usually unwavered complexion seeing you lay there with a red nose and glistening eyes. In three strides he crosses the room and sits himself on the bed next to you. “What’s wrong?” He repeats. His eyebrows are pulled together and he searches your face for some kind of hint to what could have happened.
You avoid eye contact and bite your lip, embarrassed to confess to him what the problem really is. He sighs and lifts his hand up to cup your face, turning it so you look at him, “Hey, talk to me.” He pleads softly. You close your eyes for a second and take a shuddering breath to calm yourself down before you speak. “I-it’s really not that big of a deal.” Your voice is shaking and you look away again hoping you can get out a full explanation, but you feel another wave of sadness crash over and before you can stop it tears are falling.
Tsukishima just pulls you into him and holds you there, safe from your thoughts for a few more minutes as you pull yourself back toghether. Once your breathing finally evens out and the sobbing has stopped he gently pulls away and looks down at you again. “Are you ready to talk about it?” he asks.
“Yes.” You respond after a second of pondering his question, then the words come tumbling out of your mouth.
“Its New Year’s Eve on Friday and I wanted to have some friends over to celebrate because my family never does anything and I thought it would be fun to spend it with some people from school, but it turns out most of them are busy and honestly that was completely fine by me, I understand, however I talked to some of them more and it turns out a majority of the people I asked to come decided to go to some other party together with a bunch of people and I wasn’t invited to it and I don’t know, but I just fell really left out and like I don’t have friends who want to do things with me. I know this is a stupid reason for me to get so upset. I’m sorry for dumping all of it on you too.” You look at him hesitantly, unsure of how he will respond. He just cups your face again and gazes at you in awe. “Baby you don’t ever have to apologize for your feelings.” He says to you. His thumb brushes over your eyebrow as he continues, “I’m sure whatever party those people are having is going to be lame anyways, why would you even want to go, especially with people like that?”
“I don’t know, I guess I just like to feel included in things.” You respond quietly.
“You know what, I think the guys from the team are doing something Friday night, how about you and I go to that together?” he asks in an attempt to cheer you up. You chuckle softly and say in a knowing tone, “Kei you hate social gatherings, much less parties.”
“Tch, it’s New Year’s Eve dumbass, everyone goes to parties.” He responds in his usual tone, but you know he doesn’t mean it to be harsh.
“Ok, I’d like that.” Is all you say back, closing your eyes and leaning into the touch of his hand on your cheek. He leans down and kisses your forehead. “Thank you Kei.” You speak just loud enough for him to hear. “Whatever.” Tsukishima scoffs, pulling you back into his chest. You lay there listening to the sound of his heartbeat with dried tears and a soft smile on your face, his arms wrapped securely around you.
