So there's a snippet of conversation you get after you bring Grunt's pod on board the Normandy

"Is it true we have a tank containing a baby krogan down in the hold?"

"Not a baby. He's a fully-grown super soldier ready for combat."

But I took this screeshot on Horizon and realised that actually...he's not.

Now. We know how tall Garrus and Femshep are - he's 7ft, and she's 5ft 3. It's difficult to show that kind of height difference in-game, because everyone needs to fit on the same screen, but we can clearly see that Garrus's model is still visibly taller than Shepard's, standing on roughly level ground.

We also know that Wrex, who is definitely a fully-grown krogan, is a Certified Bigboye at 8ft tall. He's bigger than Garrus. And as we can see in this random screenshot from ME1 that I just grabbed off DuckDuckGo to make my point, his model is, albeit only slightly, visibly taller than Garrus's.

They had the technology in ME1 to make Wrex (slightly) taller than Garrus, who in turn is (slightly) taller than Shepard. And they still have the technology in ME2 to make Garrus (slightly) taller than Shepard, so they could have made Grunt visibly bigger, and deliberately chose not to.

Which has some interesting implications actually because you may have noticed that in my screenshot up there, Grunt, supposedly a fully-grown krogan, is the same size as Shepard.

Grunt is 5'3. Assuming Wrex is of average height for an adult male krogan, Grunt is adolescent-sized; he's got another three feet of growing to do.

Anyway. Grunt is baby: confirmed

So uh, I slipped and drew Subject Zero Kaidan. Like, he kills Vyrnus and instead of joining the Alliance later on, becomes a homicidal maniac, plus tattoos. I tried to incorporate an Alliance uniform with his new outfit, and a headcanon popped up in my head that he may have actually joined the Alliance, but was made CAT.6 pretty damn fast and ended up killing a whole ton of people in revenge. Hence being in prison when Shepard gets to him.

BUT I DON’T KNOW.

this is gonna sound like a shitpost but the best advice i have if youre consistently coming off wrong is to start talking like an elcor

you will feel like a dumdum at first, but once you get used to it youll realize that telling people what kind of thing you're about to say ahead of time flattens their anxiety a huge amount

ive been starting every question with "question:" for awhile now and i almost never get people reading too much into what i mean anymore

it seems super dumb, but "what are your plans tomorrow?" gets people asking me what i have planned despite me obviously being in the process of figuring that out, whereas "question: what are your plans tomorrow?" gets me a quick rundown of their schedule, followed by "why?"

it also makes it really easy to work tone indicators into your verbal speech. if you're always saying "question: [your question here]?" then no one blinks when you say "genuine question: [question that could read as sarcastic]?"

it also gets you out of your own way for any types of things you struggle to say. "can you make sure to do the dishes before you go to bed?" feels like an argument waiting to happen, but "request: can you make sure to do the dishes before you go to bed?" gets the words flowing on a neutral word while making it clear that you're not looking for a fight

so yeah. suggestion: talk like an elcor
