Hi M. I read your book, IWWV, when it first came out and I loved it. I just reread part of it, the part where Oliver and James kiss, and I just have to say, thank you so much for that. The whole book, I was preparing for their relationship to end how most books would have ended it, and to have that scene happen how it did has stuck with me as one of my favorite scenes in the book. Even though it breaks my heart and just made me cry again. So thank you for that, as a gay who loves Shakespeare :)
This is exactly why I wrote it the way I did. A little more on this under this tag, but there’s a long, weird tradition of queerbaiting in fiction and particularly academic novels and I wanted to upend those expectations and stop excluding LGBTQ+ people from the fictional versions of the real world communities which depend on them to thrive. Anyway, I’m so glad to hear the book surprised you in a good way. Thank you so much for reading.

Ahhhh it’s the season!! I need to go spend my money urgently on a thousand scented candles, sweaters, cardigans, flowers to leave to dry on my desk, dark colored lipsticks, golden jewelry, soft blankets, and maybe another three books...oh, and make a playlist for this weather.
And maybe reread if we were villains but pls don’t tell anyone cause I’ve read it too many times already, they’d think I’ve gone crazy...

The thing that I like the most about listening audiobooks is the element of surprise. While reading a physical copies of books you can still take a quick look at the next paragraph and see what's coming. With audiobooks you have no idea what's going to happen until it suddenly hits you hard, flooding your body with adrenaline.

The thing about Shakespeare is, he’s so eloquent…he speaks the unspeakable. He turns grief and triumph and rapture and rage into words, into something we can understand. He renders the whole mystery of humanity comprehensible.

I shall be glad for October, when this queer, hot, uncertain September has gone its way.

Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment for each dollar spent. What I wonder is why everybody doesn’t carry a book around for those inevitable dead spots in life.

I always wanted to do the right thing. Be the right kind of person. But I never knew what that meant. It always seemed like there…like there was an impossible choice I had to make. Stark or Greyjoy. It’s not my place to forgive you for all of it.  But what I can forgive, I do. You don’t need to choose. You’re a Greyjoy…and you’re a Stark.
