look, Laura and Kevin should have taken that baby a year ago, Spencer never should have gotten into a daddy wanna be mode obsession, and the writers let Esme go to jail/killed.

Having 60 year old grandparents raise a baby would be a kinda nice story that hasn't been told, but this is GH. That baby will serve 2 purposes: comedy scenes and reasons why Laura and/or Kevin aren't in certain scenes.

Genie and Jon are cute with that baby, but as two of the show's best actors, they deserve more than diaper duty with Frank's latest baby obsession.

so, I'm giving up GH until Laura is free from her Esme propping duties. I just can't stand to watch my favorite character be written completely OOC to prop up this flop.

and honestly, if they gave Laura some type of POV regarding this defense of Esme, maybe I could stomach it. Like

Kevin wants to save her, so she's doing this as a favor to him

She sees a lost young troubled girl in Esme, just like she was (let's remember that Laura killed 2 people before she was 18)

She misses her own daughter, so she became obsessed with being a mother to this young girl

She doesn't want Ace to be motherless like Nik was. So she's helping Esme.

Laura deserves better. Genie deserves better. WE deserve better.

I'm gonna defend my fave for a second. I don't think Laura is purposefully ignoring Spencer's feelings on Nik. IMO, I think she believes that because Spencer is the one kid she did raise, he would be more like her: more forgiving of trash behavior. Is that right? HELL FUCKING NO. But I don't think she purposefully ignores him being angry and hurt by Nik. She has been his rock since basically day one. The writing sucks, but as a fan of both characters, I don't think Laura's intentions were to ignore his feelings. She never did. I just chop it up to plot point writing.

Secondly, when he was talking about his trip with Trina in front of Ebola, Laura and Kevin said that it was nice and were happy for him. What else should they have said? Should they have thrown him a party? Baked him a cake? Ebola is a flight risk. They want that baby near them and they know she is NUTS especially when Spencer talks about Trina in front of her. It's not that they feel bad for Ebola, just they are fucking scared she'll go nuts again and take Chunk.

Also, for those who say Laura should drop Nikolas for being a trash father... if she did, would you then say she's a bad mom for abandoning him and trying to bring him home to his kids? Because all my girl is trying to do is redeem herself from abandoning him 40ish years ago. She can't help it. And yet again, it's lazy writing because they aren't ready to bring back Nik full time, so she's stuck saying "oh he'll come around" because that's how they keep the "intrigue" regarding Nik alive. STUPID, STUPID, writing.

Laura still being one of Spencer's three favorite people after how all the writers try to shit on the Laura/Spencer relationship is a testament to Genie and NAC chemistry and acting abilities.
