I have finished Spiritfarer.
The thing that upsets me, personally, is that Stella never eats. We don't know Stella's favorite food. Her personal space is a tiny closet that's out of the way of everyone else, no improvements or personalization available. Even in the end, she rows alone.

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.
and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.
there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.
i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

I wish they'd let Wyll be angry, specifically: angry for himself, not just for other people. I wish they'd let him yell at his dad. I wish they'd let the player tell Wyll that it's okay to love your dad but still feel hurt and betrayed by him. Let the guy vent all that pent up negative emotion for goodness sake. Give him a scene or three where Theo Solomon could flex his voice acting skills.

Just finished 1000xResist. That’s a hell of a story. A fantastic density of themes, ideas, and characters. I’m gonna think about it a lot.
A game with a lot to say about family, generational trauma, identity, memory, oppression, resistance, change, survival, and a whole lot more.
I also appreciate that it takes a hard line even when allowing choices. There are choices that are wrong, and it won’t tell you while making the decision, it has been telling you all game long.
For gameplay it doesn’t have much going on, it’s more of an interactive story you explore. It uses that interactivity in interesting ways; to explore story and place in ways that could only be done in a game, I think. But it is largely walking and talking.
Strongly recommend anyone and everyone play it. It's on Steam and Switch and worth every penny.
