Turkey Burgers w/ Sweet Potato Planks - Cooking With "Us"

Hey friends.  I've been cooking a lot lately and I thought it would be rad to share some of my pictures and recipes with you guys!

Quick background:

I like to cook healthy and fresh foods in attempts to prove that eating "right" doesn't mean eating cardboard. I also use as many organic ingredients as possible. Although the taste difference between regular produce and organic may be slim, there's certainly a lot of health benefits to eating "organic".  Don't get me wrong... Carissa and I love cheating sometimes, especially when we travel. But if we are at home, this is how we eat, and we love it!

Tonight's Meal:

Turkey Burgers with Sweet Potato Shanks

Toasted Whole Wheat Sesame Buns Organic Ground Turkey - worked in some cayenne pepper, oregano, garlic salt to the ground turkey and then made patties. Next, I sautéed the patties in a pan with organic olive oil and a butter substitute on medium heat, about 6 minutes on each side. When I'm cooking the last side, I drop on the cheese so it melts by the time it's done :) Spinach Avocado Fresh Mozzarella Whole seed dijon mustard Spicy ketchup Fresh Tomato

Sweet Potato Planks - Because these bad boys weren't fried, I can't call them fries...so I went with planks ;) I cut up some sweet potatoes into plank shapes, put em' in a bowl, spread olive oil and salt & pepper on them. Then placed them on a baking sheet and baked them for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. I then took them out, threw them in a pan with light butter, and sauteed' them on a high heat until the edges browned up. - Lastly, I cut up some fresh chives and threw them on top.
