I honestly am confused but am doing research

betty music video

first verse- james walks into homeroom and betty isn’t in there, of course james knows why and when james walks/skateboards home that day, she has to go past betty’s house and she sees betty laughing through the window. 

first chorus/pre-chorus switches to james getting ready for betty’s party, trying to hype herself up as she does so, going inbetween convincing herself and talking herself out of it, daydreaming about all the things she will say and hopefully they will do,  until she picks up the car keys and puts on betty’s cardigan

second verse- its like prom or a spring dance, and james is just nervous ppl knowing she might like girls and hates crowds, even though she told betty they would go together, james vanishes once they get there, so betty dances with other people, and when betty’s favorite song comes on james hypes herself up enough to ask betty to slow dance, but betty is dancing with a guy, james leaves the dance

second chorus/pre-chorus- james is in her car driving to betty’s house continuing the back and forth, slightly distracted, might almost hit someone or something, until she pulls up to Betty’s house

bridge-james is walking home from the dance just thinking about betty when the girl from august shows up (another music video is made for that) and james gets in, trying to take a bit of revenge on betty, but hurting betty more when the fling lasts the whole summer

pre-chorus/chorus- james is slowly realizing she’s standing in front of betty’s door (first i showed up to your party) knocks, (second i showed up to your party) and betty opens the door (the final more confident i showed up to your party!) and then james starts rambling about everything, fiddles with the cardigan and betty just smiles and takes her hand

outro-  the two run away from the party under the moonlight, kissing at stoplights and getting honked at and they are smiling, and maybe they pass the girl from august when they are driving (you know i miss you)
