i don't routinely share my art on here because tbh it's kind of a lot of work to actually go through the process of posting but i had to share this because i need people who will wholly enjoy it to see it and because like i'm so fucking proud of this like oh my god. i fucking drew that.

I saw your post abt antis going "proshippers need therapy" (as in anyone who draws things that wouldnt be right irl not just ships..well except gorey stuff for some reason?? Idk why that confuses me a lot but whatever) .Want to add when i went thru some godawful stuff as a teen (that i wont specify bc it could be triggering) that antis would harrass and accuse people of awful things for drawing out, my therapist TOLD ME to draw it out bc she knew i liked drawing...as a healthy way to help process it....thats what always gets me antis really know nothing yet act like they know everything. Also I'm sorry if being anon bothers you :") ik it does for some i just have some anxiety and would rather be anon hope that is ok :))

Antis are so weird in that regard because things are allowed to be as fucked up as possible UNLESS sex is involved in any way. As I say a lot, it's just puritan bullshit.

They'll never accept that a vast majority of therapists and psychology related specialists are FOR the creation of taboo fiction because it can help people in many different ways. As with all coping mechanisms it's not a one-size-fits-all and of course not everyone should be creating or exposing themselves to taboo content.

ALSO you're fine being on anon. I made sure to turn anon on for a reason. It's an invitation for hate from antis, but it also welcomes a safe space without judgment for those who are seeking it.

PRO TIP FOR ARTISTS:

if you're trying to draw something realistic, literally go out of your way to not focus on the details and not worry about being realistic at all. it will come out being more realistic than if you obsess over every line because in my experience when you do that it ends up looking ridgid and unnatural. i just started drawing something and went "i'm just gonna go all willy nilly and if it doesn't come out how i want i can do it again" and now i have a wip that i'm literally so happy with. with everything you have you have to relax.

behold, Jesus, in lovely's good omens fanfic headcanon, based on several sources. mostly the biblical canon and baphomet. i was gonna draw an earth form too with normal clothes and shit but this is outside of my comfort zone right now and i can't do too many unfamiliar things or i'll get super burnt out, so that's for another day.

i also added lamb ears and a mane at first because i wanted to incorporate the lion and lamb metaphors but it wasn't really working lol and also people woulda just been like "oMg FURRY"

Drew this a while back and was super stoked with how he turned out. I also loved the concept of his character when I first found out about him. Guy with long hair and muscle showing through??? Sign me up. I also think the zombie-unicorn is super interesting especially with the trend of kids liking the pastel/unicorn aesthetic recently. He also seems like a chill dude when I watched Freaky Fusion a while back.

Ethics aside, Ai art is inherently empty.

A thoughtless almagamation of pixel vomit. And don't even try to elevate it by using a collage analogy; collage has reflexion behind the choice of every element, every shape and placement, how each one communicates to convey meaning to the composition; every choice is deliberate, it has intention. AI doesn't. It's barely a regurgitation brought on by an incompetent producer with zero artistic knowledge. The only thing you'll get out of it is a vague feeling of unease, as its failed attempts to look manmade throw it at the bottom of the uncanny valley - look closer, longer than a quick glance while scrolling by, and everything falls apart.

I'd rather support a beginner putting their heart into their craft, watch them grow, because it has soul; AI doesn't, and never will, no matter how much developers try to emulate unconsenting artists. The best form of AI "art" resided in the surrealist eldritch horrors of the early dall-e days, when it didn't pretend to be anything else than an computer generated oddity. I miss it. Now it's all just grifters.

Stop consuming art and be critical of what you're scrolling by and resharing - actually look at it. Art is not a commodity, but an expression of humanity. You can't take that away.

pro tip for artists, if you only wanna draw up or down from a certain point and don't wanna draw an entire body or a certain part, just incorporate dismemberment :D sometimes you just wanna draw a head because shoulders are heard. as long as you draw the end of a spine and like, an esophagus and trachea if you're really gutsy (pun intended) then you're good to go ✨(sparkles emoji)

How do you get past the feeling of your work not being good enough to publish? I’m currently working on a one shot comic book with a local publisher and I have imposter syndrome really bad.
