Just in time for All Monsters Attack this weekend!

I remember Takashi Yamazaki saying he based some of Godzilla's mannerisms on his cat, so I worked some of that in with the arched posture. Just like an earlier Gamera piece I did, I left a gleam out of his eyes because it makes his gaze more piercing and lacking kindness. I call that "eclipse pupils", since it kinda resembles a solar eclipse. I did want to add the Shinden plane (which would be drawing Goji's attention, naturally), but...I dunno, just wasn't feeling it.

As I was going along, it started to give me some retro vibes; it made me think of some of the promo/merch art for the '98 Godzilla. I also LOOOVE Wayne Barlowe's dinosaur art, and I feel I channeled some of that here.
