Drive by, to me, is about Lana being ř@p£ď. In fingertips, in verse 6, she says: ‘when I was fifteen, naked, next door neighbours did a drive-by. Pulled me up by my waist, long hair to the beachside.’ To me, fingertips is the song where she references the most trauma in her life, this being one. In A&W verse 3, she says: ‘I mean, look at my hair, look at the length of it and the shape of my body. If I told you that I was ř@p£ď do you really think that anybody would think I didn’t ask for it?’.
The reference to her long hair in both is what makes it very plausible to me that Drive by is about her š@. Without those lines in fingertips I would not think this and think the long hair line in A&W is simply just a lyric but these two songs referencing the same things is more than just a lyric. Drive by, saying ‘it was a drive by, Sunday night, most of us were in bed’ really resonates with me and just makes me think this song is about her š@.
This is just my thoughts! I’m not that good at explaining things but I haven’t seen anyone else talk about this so I just wanted too.
