Tulsi would get used to be around everyone else, especially when she realized they would all be hellbent on spoiling her. She had no idea how loved she was going to be, not just by Vaibhav, but by all his loved ones. He found her shaking and scared and hungry on the side of the road and her litter was nowhere to be found, but Vaibhav tried to hours to look for signs of any other pups or dogs that might have looked like her. Any time he tried leaving her behind to find them herself, she trotted after him with those same puppy whines and cries. He was hooked at that point. They were both lost and scare and in need of comfort and now they were both going to be okay.
Vaibhav greeted the Aroras, the entire family seeming to be present today. "Aap sab ko meri wajah se Amritsar aana padha... I'm sorry." Sahej's mom smacked him on the arm and pulled him in for a hug. "Chup kar..." He could hear the tears in aunty's voice even as she chided him, rubbing her back comfortingly. "O-ho... Aunty... Main theek hoon." When she finally let him go, Vaibhav greeted the others, raising his eyebrows at Raghav. "Bahot dher baad mil rahe ho, Arora sahab." Raghav rolled his eyes and grinned, "I'll let that slide since you were MIA, but I actually have a dual purpose for coming to town." Gurnaz held out one of the elaborate invitations to Raghav's wedding. "Ek toh tumhe theek dekhna tha. Uske baad... Apni shaadi mein tumhe invite karna tha. Tum, tumhari family, tumhari Baani... Meri khaas guests."
The truth was--nobody was as happy as Baani on this particular day. Not even Sahej, or even his family. Vaibhav was her everything and so being able to see him in front of her, in the flesh--to know she wasn't having another one of those rather vivid dreams she had for a few months now--it was unreal. She smiled as the little pup licked her hand and gently took her from Vaibhav, not missing the way she whined as soon as Baani had her clutched carefully. "Lagta hai isko bhi aapke bina kuch acha nahi lagta," she said with a whisper before watching him and nodding as he went ahead to greet everyone. But of course--it seemed like her Vaibhav wasn't in the mood to let her out of his sight either with the way he brought her with him. She hung back with the little pup as he greeted his best friend and his family again.
"Kya kaaron yaar--sab koi tere intezaar mein beqaraar ho rahe the," he grinned before wrapping his arms around his friend once more. "You honestly have no idea how stressful the last couple of months have been," he murmured before giving the other man a smile, "jaa--sabse mil le," and with a grin he pushed his buddy over to say hello to his big brother and little sister as well.

Now that he was back nothing was going to stop him from marrying the girl of his dreams. They'd come too far to wait any longer and Vaibhav honestly could not spend a second separated from her now that he experienced losing her. He knew what he signed up for, but he was also selfish when it came to her. Vaibhav didn't want to be without her anymore. He watched her greet the puppy in his hold with gentle care and smiled as Tulsi in turn licked Baani's hand in an approving manner. "Here," he said, handing over the fur baby to her new mom. "Acha hai. It's good she'll have you and everyone else to love on. She's a little clingy when it comes to me." That much evident with the way the dog whined and looked back to make sure he was still there. "Main sab se mil loon?" he asked, taking her hand to make sure she was still with him while he did. When he turned to greet his wellwishers, Vaibhav wasn't expecting anyone of note, but he was clearly wrong. "Sahej, tunne bataiya nahin teri family aayi hai." His friend's brother was a bigshot celebrity in Mumbai these days, but he mostly saw any Arora as extended family of sorts.
Baani’s smile told him easily just how pleased she was with what he’d said about marrying her now. She was already his; body, mind and soul. It’s how she had made sure not to give up hope that he would return to them alive and well. She knew it in her heart that he was okay and now he was standing in front of her. “Mujhe koi aitraaz nahi hai,” she told him with a bright smile as she stared up at him. “Main toh kabse wait hi kar rahi thi ke tum aaoge aur mujhe sahi se aapne ghar laoge,” she retorted with a grin.
When he gestured for Sahej to bring this person over to meet her, she was almost eager to see who this person was until she spotted the adorable little puppy in his arms, just looking around at all the strange faces before she looked back at Vaibhav as he explained. Her hand was instantly reaching for the little one, letting her sniff her hand before she rubbed her between the ears. “Tulsi bada hi pyaara naam hai,” she agreed before lowering her face to the little pup’s, “tumne mere Vaibhav ka itna khayal rakha jab main nahi thi—iske liye thank you,” and with that she looked back at him and shook her head. “She’s not going anywhere, ab se yeh humari ghar ki nayi sadasya hai.”

At one point, if he'd made the wedding comment, people might have thought he was joking. While his tone was still jovial today there was also a sense of finality to it. There would be no waiting around for months for the wedding to happen. He just wanted to marry this amazing woman and start living his life with her. After almost losing out on this and thinking it might only remain a dream, Vaibhav was not going to leave anything up to chance. "Sach keh raha hoon, okay. No more waiting around."
Before he forgot, Baani reminded him that someone was coming with him. That's right. She was hiding behind everyone and still hadn't met their new baby yet. "Aye Sahej, idhar aa usse leh kar." When his friend approached with the sweet puppy, Vaibhav grinned as he introduced her. "Yeh Tulsi hai. Maine naam rakha hai iska. Mujhe yeh Pakistan mein mille... sadak pe. I tried to get her to go back to her litter, but she just wouldn't stop following me. Pichle ek mahine se yeh mere saath hai. Bahot pyaari hai. I couldn't just leave her behind."
There were other people waiting to greet him as well, Sahej’s siblings of course and Simrat but from the moment Baani saw him—she wasn’t willing to share his attention anymore. She needed to reassure herself that he was there, he was real and he was staying right there in Amritsar for the foreseeable future. She knew she couldn’t demand it for the rest of their lives but for now—she needed to get her fill of him, she needed memories to be created to wipe out the terror they’d lived through, not even knowing the ordeal he’d gone through. She’d ask him about it of course—needing to hear about his experience, to truly try and understand him but none of that mattered right now.
She inhaled the scent from his army jacket, reminding herself and grounding herself in that moment. This was all she craved when he’d been gone and it was enough for her. “Jaane ki koshish bhi ki na—toh main peeche peeche aajaongi,” she warned him with a soft laugh. His words to his grandmother had her smile growing wider as she shook her head, still holding him close. “Tu na—sab ke saamne yeh kya bol raha hai…” but she loved every moment of it. Because she was his—from the moment their love became evident—she knew she wouldn’t belong to anyone else but him.
“Jaa—sab se mil le, warna sab kahenge ke maine tujhe jaana nahi diya,” she murmured reluctantly releasing him until she remembered the words he’d said on the phone. “Ek second! Tu kisi aapne saath laaya hai? Phone pe tu kuch keh raha tha…?”

The puppy was in safe hands with Sahej which allowed Vaibhav to greeted everyone freely, but it was when he finally laid eyes on Baani that true happiness finally shone on his face. He had missed his family, but they knew what he was signing up for. He wanted to be in the army since he was young and they all knew that there was a chance he could go to war or something could go wrong at some point. Baani... He had made promises of a long life together with her and to think there was a moment he worried he'd broken that promise to her only made him want to hold her and never let go.
"Maaf karna," he mumbled, his arms wrapping around her tightly as he forgot about the crowd of people waiting to greet him and welcome him home. She was all that mattered to him. "Ab toh main kahin nahin jaane wala tere bina." And that was the god honest truth. He wasn't ever going to put her through this again. "Bebe! Viyah di tayariyan shuru kar. Hun mere toh nahin wait hona." The oo's and hoots and hollars that followed were expected, but he was happy to be back and didn't want to wait anymore. It was time to make good on those promises he'd made her.
Sahej didn’t care that Vaibhav probably wanted to hug his family, his girl—he had missed his best friend and truthfully he’d been worried sick. Seeing him now in the flesh was truly more than he could express in words and so he hadn’t waited for anyone but just hugged him tight, only backing away when he heard the little yipping. It had him raising a brow as he pulled away before chuckling at Vaibhav’s words. “Acha—toh tu itni der gayab tha—mujhe ek niece laane ke liye?” He chuckled before holding the little pup in his arms, turning around as he watched his best friend go to greet his family.
Baani watched him looking very obviously for her but watched instead with happy tears in her eyes as he greeted his mother and his adorable Bebe—all of whom had been so stressed and worried during his absence. It was when she heard his father call out to her though that she let out a soft laugh and made her way in front, not even sure how to greet him with everyone watching them. But ultimately nothing else mattered as she took those tentative steps towards him, as if committing this moment to memory before she was in front of him. “Badi der kardi tune,” she whispered, her tears falling easily now as she quickly wrapped her arms around his torso, needing to feel him in her arms, reminding her that this wasn’t some mirage and he was actually there.

He smiled so wide it hurt, but his eyes scanned the crowd of familiar faces to find his Baani. When Sahej practically collided into him, Tulsi grumbled in his arms, but he did his best to shield her from the attack of affection. With one arm he hugged his bestest friend, his eyes beginning to prick with tears now that he actually had physical contact with someone who cared about him. Vaibhav had longed to hear someone talk to him like this with such familiarity and zero formality. "Sorry yaar..." he mumbled, backing away slowly only for the pup to make sure Sahej understood he startled her with his hug. She yipped at the shorter man to which Vaibhav tsk'ed. "Tulsi nahin... Yeh tere chachu hai." Only because he knew that Tulsi was sweet and wouldn't ever try to bite anyone without being provoked, he plopped her into Sahej's arms. "Cute hai na?"
Speaking of cute, he was still looking for his precious Baani, but his eyes landed on his mother who was obviously in tears waiting for him. He approached his family and offered them the tightest hugs to ensure they knew he was actually here and that he was safe. Bebe raised her cane to smack him, but tugged him in for a hug instead, patting his back in a sweet, affectionate manner. When his wandering gaze became too obvious, his father chuckled, "Baani, tu peeche kya kar rahi hai. Idhar aa. Yeh khotha tenu dhoond raha hai."
As soon as she'd hung up that phone with Vaibhav...she'd been quick to call Sahej and Simmi, letting them know that he was coming back. And of course she'd been right there with his parents, eager to let them know as well that their son was coming home. She'd heard his voice and she knew he was okay. The atmosphere in the household and truly in the whole of Amritsar was happier in Baani's eyes. Things probably hadn't changed much in the city but for her--she was looking at everything in a new perspective. She'd gone to get his favourite vegetables to cook for him and even the decorations she'd purchased to put around the house--everything felt more vibrant all because he was safe and was coming home.
They of course didn't know which day in particular he'd be back but as soon as the loud shouts of the kids running through the alley reached their ears, everyone was outside waiting for him. And everyone--meant everyone. She hung back in the doorway watching as his parents and family flanked the entry, Sahej and Simmi also there with Sahej's siblings nearby as well. He was so loved, so loved and so cherished that it made her heart happy. The familiar sound of his car was enough to give her goosebumps as she struggled to stand on her tippy toes, trying to see him over the other people waiting to greet him.
Sahej didn't even pause or notice the little puppy in his arms as he approached his best friend, his other brother--his arms wrapped tightly around the man, "jaan nikal di thi tune--hum sab ki," he murmured as he clapped him on the back, just so glad to see his best friend here in the flesh.

Vaibhav had come to terms with the fact that there was a very high possibility that he wouldn't make it back home. It didn't mean he wasn't going to try, but he knew that anything could have happened when he was out in the middle of nowhere. He could have starved, frozen to death, been shot, or even been captured by the authorities. He thanked his lucky stars and no doubt the prayers of all those loved ones waiting for him back at home that he was a short drive from being in the comforting embrace of his family and friends. It felt like their small nook of Amritsar was eagerly awaiting his arrival as he looked out at the neighbors and familiar faces of those in the community smiling and waving as the car slowly pushed through the busy streets. Word that he was back would no doubt reach his family before he got there.
His new companion in the form of a sweet pup named Tulsi was napping in the seat beside him, her head on his lap. He couldn't wait for her and Baani to meet. She was going to love Tulsi. As the car finally slowed to a stop on his street, he felt an overwhelming sense of contentment now that he had returned to where he belonged. He got out of the car, slowly waking the puppy so she too could meet everyone and see her new home. He got out of the car and picked her up in his arms as he approached the awaiting throng of loved ones at the doorstep.

"Tumhe acha nahin lagta lekin mujhe lagta hai." If anyone else had a problem with her tagging along then they could take it up with him, but so far nobody had any issues and that was good enough for him. "I'm not compromising on this. You know na, main tumhe kitna miss karta hoon jab main wapas jaata hoon?" Sometimes he wondered what life might have been like if he worked a regular old job after college and didn't have such noble dreams of serving his country. He would get to be with her everyday. Hell, they might have been married by now if he lived that life... but he didn't. He was in the army and he was going to do his duty. "Haan theek hai. Agli baar main bhi jaaunga aur uss Zaara Siddiqui ko milke aaunga." He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, but laughed immediately after the fact. He could get the chance to meet any supermodel or actress and he would still say his Baani was the most beautiful woman in the world. "Acha chalo... Thoda soh jao? Subha uthke sab kuch saaf bhi karna hai na, wapas jaane se pehle?" He gave Baani a kiss on the lips, followed by another kiss to her temple as he drew her closer to snuggle.
Sometimes Baani wondered who she would be if she didn't have him in her life. He was absolutely everything to her and it was clear he knew that too. "Pata hai Vaibhav, lekin phir bhi mujhe accha nahi lagta aise tumhare saath sab jaagah tag along karna. I know you need your time with your friends and all too," and while Sahej was pretty good about making room for Baani during their hangouts, he wasn't Vaibhav's only friend. "Aur haan--pata hai mujhe ke tum bhi chahte ho mere saath time bitana, toh aise mat sochna ke mujhe nahi maloom." Sometimes she wished she could travel with him for longer and spend her days there with him--but that would never be a possibility and instead she should just feel grateful that family got to visit when they did. Baani felt reassured when he spoke about going to the gurudwara because that was always important and she nodded before leaning into his embrace, needing that familiar warmth and comfort she so missed every single time she had to be away from him. "Haan baba, of course gift pe hum dono ka naam hoga," she smiled before pecking his cheek and nodding at his words. How was she supposed to have fun without him? He was her person--the one who truly made her life worth enjoying. "Mannat ke bahar photo lungi, lekin andar tab hi jayenge jab hum dono saath ho. Deal?" She knew about Sahej being related to that rather handsome actor Raghav Arora--but honestly she'd only want to meet him with Vaibhav by her side. A film actor like that--or anyone really would intimidate her.

It was admirable the way she tried to ensure he had his time with everyone while he was back, but she was his better half. There was no way he wasn't going to do his absolute best making sure he spent as much time as possible with this wonderful woman. "Yeh bhi theek hai," he joked, "Baani, sab koh toh pata hai. Jahan main, wahan tum. Tumhe kya lagta hai? Mujhe nahin waqt bitana tumhare saath?" He needed his time with her terribly if he was going to go back feeling recharged enough to last him until his next trip home. "Of course gurudware jayenge hum." Everyone knew that, that was one thing they did together every time he came home and right before he left. It was their tradition and their was no way he was going to deprive either of them of that. "Main bhi... Lekin iss baar Saanvi di aur apne jeeju ke liye meri taraf se gift lehke jaana okay?" He hated that they hadn't gotten a chance to meet yet, but at least this way they knew that he so wished he could. "Lekin you have fun okay? Aur Mannat ke samne photo kheech ke wapas aana. Waise, agar chaho toh shayad andar bhi jaa sakti ho," he chuckled, "Main Sahej se baat karoon? Uska bhai shayad milwa sake."
So blissfully unaware they both were about how their life was inevitably going to change due to the events waiting to transpire in their future--it was almost laughable if it wasn't gut-wrenchingly awful. But they were unaware, which meant she was smiling at him as she spoke and almost voiced her displeasure at having to share him with everyone else, but how could she ever be upset with him for that? He was so loved--it made sense that everyone wanted his time. "Aise mat bolo, warna main tumhe kisi aur ke saath waqt nahi bitane dungi. Aapni nazron se durr hi nahi hone dene wali," she warned him with a teasing smile because while the words she said were the utmost truth--they both sadly knew she'd never keep him from anyone who was important to him. "Lekin haan shopping toh ek baat hai, lekin phir gurudware jaana hai, ek baar kal aur phir wapas jab tumhe...pata hai na?" She didn't like saying it, but it was a tradition she'd formed. Baani often went to pray, finding a sense of peace there that was unmatched, and since the first time he'd gone away--they'd gone to pray together, and when he'd returned safely--they'd gone that very day to pray and give gratitude. Since then a tradition was born and Baani did her very best to uphold it. "I wish ke tum bhi mere saath aa sakhte Mumbai," she voiced softly, hating how absolutely guilty she was probably making him feel. But while she normally tried to squash her feelings--there were times like these where they just bubbled up and made themselves known.

If only he knew that their next meeting wouldn't be for a while... Vaibhav had no idea that misfortune that was about to befall him when he returned to base. Being in hostile territory meant that anything could happen, even during times of peace. Had he truly felt like this would be the last time he'd be spending time with her for the long months ahead then he would have insisted they get engaged and maybe even married during this visit itself. How was he to know though? He was just happy to be here right now and already eagerly looking forward his next visit when he would be able to pop that question officially. "Tu bataa. Jitna time chahiye, kudiye, tu leh." He smiled, glad she would get the opportunity to get out of town for a while. Her cousin's life in Mumbai was so drastically different from her life in Amritsar that he felt it was exactly what she needed whenever she got to visit. They had offer him a standing invitation to come and visit, but Vaibhav never had enough time to visit his loved ones at home and also travel elsewhere. He tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and nodded, "Bas bataa dehna kab chalna hai shopping. I'll come pick you up."
Being alone with him meant she could easily succumb to her true personality which did happen to be a woman who was madly in love with the man in front of her. Initially whenever they were around people, she tried to keep her feelings in check, not wanting them to be smothering him but when they were alone--he would never have any doubt as to how much she loved him. Still she enjoyed teasing him from time to time as well which was what she was doing tonight, "woh toh hai--sab tumse darrte honge," she murmured with a thoughtful sigh, "lekin main nahi darrti," she grinned before pinching his long nose and laughing. When he did speak up about making her his wife, she knew it was the truth--they'd have never been indulging in something like this if it wasn't. She just knew she had to be patient, she couldn't be demanding of him and his time even if sometimes for her own reassurance she wanted to take him to the nearest gurudwara and take their phera's--she would never deprive her family and his of that moment. But for now, she just gazed at her man and smiled, eager to spend the next week together. "Mere liye iss baar kitna time nikal sakoge? Main isiliye pooch rahi thi, kyunki tum shayad Saanvi di ki shaadi mein wapas aa na pao, lekin main chahti hoon ke mere saare kapre tumhari choice ke hi ho."

He pulled her close, wanting to cherish the way her body melded so perfectly against his own. Her scent was so intoxicating that Vaibhav found himself nuzzling his nose in her chocolate brown tresses so he could inhale it, memorize it and save it for those days that he would far away serving his nation. "They wouldn't dare. They know I'll kick their ass if they try. Tum sirf meri ho okay? Shaadi bhi tumhari mere saath hi hone wali hai." When he would officially propose, it would be infinitely more romantic than just laying in bed and telling her they would be married. She knew he was fully intending on making her his wife. It was just a matter of when. Vaibhav had made up his mind. The next time he came home, he would be back long enough to make his intentions clear both with her and all their loved ones. He would have done it this trip, but the soldier didn't want to rush things. Baani deserved to be spoiled and pampered and most of all, he wanted to be able to show her that he wasn't just here to get engaged and rush back. He wanted that time off to be relaxed and leisured so they could take their time and celebrate properly with everyone they knew.
Being with her in the stillness of the moment was just as good as making love to her. He knew he'd found the one with her because he was fine either way. They didn't have to be sexually active to love each other, but she gave herself to him happily and that made him feel like the luckiest man on the world. It was a privilege to get to be with her, but otherwise he would have been just fine holding her hand and stealing kisses until they were married. He had to laugh. Of course she wouldn't want the caretakers seeing the remnants of their busy night here. "Theek hai. Yaad karaa dunga." He sighed, not really want to think about his time on duty, but since she asked about his friends, he indulged her. "Sab theek hi hai, jaan. Tumhare baare mein hamesha poochte hai." It was more like they constantly teased him about her ever since she came by to visit the last year.

She kissed him back eagerly, loving the way he truly claimed her as his. Something she coveted each and every single time he came back to her. She had a desperate need to be his and somehow he just knew and understood it in a manner where he really did give her everything she'd ever sought after. "I know," she whispered before feeling him pull out of her, that ache and hollow feeling coming over her before she watched how much gushed out of her. "Abhi ke liye..." she repeated with a knowing smirk on her lips before she pulled him close once more, "kal yaad karana--sheets aur sab kuch dho ki hi jaayenge," she murmured even if it was something they did every time she still wanted to make sure he'd remind her in case she forgot. Her head rested against his chest, just over his heart and she kissed his skin gently before peering up at him. "So...saach mein kaise ho tum. Tumhari last chitti bahot pehle aayi thi. Base pe sab kaise hai?" They were also members of his family now and knew about her and so she often liked to know about them, after all--they were the people who were taking care of her Vaibhav when he was away from her.

He shudder in her arms, the pleasure of his climax too intense for him to escape. The way she moaned in that sweet, needy way showed how much she approved of his load inside her. It felt like forever before he was done spilling inside her and even then Vaibhav wondered if he still had a few more drops to offer. Such was her effect on him. He pinned her petite body between himself and the mattress, giving her a deep kiss on the lips as he basked in the feeling of finally being one with his girlfriends after what felt like eternity. "Shit..." he exhaled, gingerly pulling out of her and watching their mixed release slowly ooze out from between her pussy lips. "Abhi ke liye araam karlo..." Which meant they were going to go again at least once more tonight as soon as they had a minute to catch their breath. Now that he had her, naked and wanton in his bed, he had to have her again and again. After all, laying his claim on her was his right at this. He pulled her against his body, letting his hand gently caress her as they cuddled.
He felt so...incredible to her. He felt strong and large and just everything she needed as he moved over top of her. She felt enclosed in a cocoon that was made just for them, and knew once more that he'd protect her from everything. It was inherently who he was and she was thankful that he'd not only given her his love but was ready to make her his partner. He continued moving in and out of her in such a way that she was almost terrified of having yet another orgasm. She'd never had two in quick succession like this but sometimes--the body did mysterious things. "Oh...oh Vaibhav," she couldn't help it but the way he was moving within her had her truly cumming a second time in such a short period of time. But she felt him freeze, his lips against her neck and her body arched to meet his in such a way. Her breasts pushed against his chest, her one hand needing to claw at something--his back becoming her canvas while the other hand tightened it's hold on his own hand while she gasped and felt him bursting into her, her own body releasing it's second climax while she stared at him in awe--her breathing fully erratic.

He had handed himself over to his pleasure, his lust, the man not seeing or hearing anything except the way his lover was moaning for him and the way her body writhed beneath his as they moved together in sync. It was easy enough to take over the reins and begin fucking her passionately. His need for her was showing through especially now as his hips slapped rhythmically against hers. The sounds of their lovemaking echoed throughout the bedroom and he knew that had the other two still been in the house, they would have probably heard them, but thankfully they were all alone to enjoy this as loudly and enthusiastically as possible. He felt the tight, hot walls of her pussy constrict around his cock and he shuddered at the extreme pleasure. It only took him about two more minutes of frantically thrusting into her before he to froze up deep inside his girlfriend’s heat and experienced his release. He grunted and groaned into the crook of her neck, letting her have all of his load inside her.
Vaibhav was everything to her and she knew very well that he felt the same way about her. If he didn't--then she'd be able to tell. He was so caring and he loved her so much that sometimes she just hoped he knew that she loved him just as much. Especially in moments like this though, the way he was giving her just what she needed, not making her hold back at all--letting her be as loud and as vocal as she needed to be. But Baani would be lying if she said she didn't love it when he rolled them over. It was not only sexy but it was powerful and having him thrust deep inside of her with his strength had her already seeing stars. She could barely string together two words as she nodded, "there--there..." she groaned again before feeling him almost draw himself out--making her weak with need to be filled up again before he slammed into her. "Oh my god....yes," and her eyes seemingly rolled back, her every nerve telling her that she was officially floating thanks to him and the orgasm he'd just given her yet again. "Oh--Vai--Vaibhav--tum--yes, yes..." she needed to feel him inside of her too, she needed to know that he was satisfied and feeling just as good as she was in that moment.
