Been MIA, and I’ve missed being on Tumblr!!! What’s been of me? Well…

- I started Practicum AGAIN for my clinical mental health counseling program.. it’s much better this time around.

- I joined a book club with former coworkers. It’s steady. I find myself not having a lot of energy to read. I have been (against my will) relying on audible. No offense, just not the best way I retain things.

- I have 8 clients! I take so long to write progress notes and treatment plans (no joke like hours) because I jump back and forth between client notes and tracking rapid fire thoughts on their treatment but also because I’m still finding my voice

- My site supervisor isn’t the best… for a therapist… I question her. It has reaffirmed to me that being successful doesn’t mean you’re great. However, there are clients that are seeking those types of services. But if you asked my HOT TAKE (which you didn’t) it’s that… if you’re not going to accept your clients for how they show up then you shouldn’t even be allowed to be in this profession. Our duty is to do no harm.. but she’s been able to hide behind the success…

- I got a new job… trying to be an RBT?! I thought working with kiddos who have autism which means ABA therapy was going to be a whole different spiel. I stuck out the month long training (I need my car payment), but I quit today! Nearing the end.. seeing how ABA works… another HOT TAKE.. WHAT IS THAT?! It’s giving the beginning phases of Pavlov figuring out conditioning.

- I adopted a cat the day before Valentine’s Day. His name is Ollie. It’s been a journey for us both! He will have a brother soon!
