i like to pretend i already died and asked god to send me back to earth so i can swim in lakes again and see mountains and get my heart broken and love my friends and cry so hard in the bathroom and go grocery shopping 1,000 more times. and that i promised i would never forget the miracle of being here

When you find your own feet in the runspo tag and inspire yourself to go for a run.  ^_^

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will. - Mahatma Gandhi.
I’m going to shave 5 minutes off my 5k in the next two weeks. The hills are my friends. Crushing legs err’day.

I had this thought the other day while I was running in a place I’d not run before. Knowing you can take a path you’ve not run before without fearing the distance is a kind of freedom that you can really treasure.
You start with a mile near your house, then one day you take some other streets you’ve not run yet, each time adding a bit to your distance. It takes time but eventually you can be on some trails you’ve never run before and come across a path stretching off into the distance. You know that as long as you’ve got enough water (and you know how to get back), that path is yours to explore. All of sudden you’ve built an engine that can take you on all kinds of different adventures. And that’s an amazing feeling.
Happy weekend running to everyone whether you’re doing your first mile or your off for a 20-mile trail run. Just remember to keep asking those questions.

Run streak day: 27
Miles for the year: 130.55
Todays run was pretty awesome, 5 miles on muddy trails is exactly what I needed!!
Also hit my personal goal of 80 miles this month, which I haven’t done since last spring, and I got to run trails!!!
I ❤ trail running!!

The trail up to the summit was covered in wild blackberries that were just turning ripe. We stopped and ate for a while before continuing the climb.

The thing I love about road races, is that a completely average guy like me can compete against the world’s best. I mean, I don’t stand a chance of even coming close to the elites, but in theory we are competing. I like to think that in a parallel world, thousands of runners ahead of me cramp up, drop out and I win the Boston Marathon.

Kicking the day off right by crushing some morning cardio. Who’s with me?
Morning cardio sucks? No it doesn’t. Morning cardio means that I have the opportunity to start my day off ahead. It means that both of my legs work, and that I’m healthy and fortunate enough to do something many people would kill for the opportunity to do.
Whether you’re doing 5AM cardio, heavy squats on leg day, or hitting the batting cages to practice for tryouts, remember that you’re never going to succeed if your methods create an unwanted burden on yourself.
Find a way to be thankful for what you do, enjoy what you do, and embrace the struggle that makes you great. If you’re constantly dreading and complaining about these aspects of your life, you’ll never succeed. I recommend you change your attitude, or quit while you’re ahead.
Every day is an opportunity. Act accordingly.

This is why I have never had a Cinnabon. I have walked by the store longingly for many years, but I’ve never given in because I know that once the flood gates open, I will probably only ever eat Cinnabon for the rest of my life. Every cell in my body would be made of cinnybun…forever!
Would you trust yourself with the dozen cinnybuns box from Cinnabon because I know I would eat them allll
Absolutely not lmfao I would trust myself that I would eat them all tho

Running will be there 7am while he’s on his work shift. The hills and trails will be there when there are no arms to comfort you. The clouds will gaze down upon your most glorious moments when no soul is there to witness them. The trees will never utter anything about your messy braid, no makeup or sweaty shirt. Only love what can love you back unconditionally.
