what is a kin? :)

Otherkin is a belief, just like any other belief. Like how some people believe in God or how some people believe in magic. You don’t have to believe it’s a real thing, like you really don’t. But it’s not like you’d tell someone who believes in God how idiotic they are for believing in something you don’t. Or at least I hope you wouldn’t.

In short terms, it’s a way for someone to connect to something in any way they like. Let’s use a fox as an example.

Some people use it to say that they were a fox in a past life, while other people use it to say maybe they were just supposed to be born as a fox. Some people use it to say that their soul is the soul of a fox, while some people say they use the fox to figure out who they are as a person.

It’s different for everyone.
