Unpopular opinion:

Can people please stop fancasting Dimitri as a 30 yo man? He was 24. He was 24 and one of the best Dhampir guardians known ALIVE. He was so young yet it was considered a miracle he was even still alive.

When I reread the VA series, I had to pause and think about it because I'm the same age as Dimitri! It blew my mind to think of how YOUNG he actually is!

Part of the issues throughout the series is that so many young people are being put on the frontlines. I feel it kind of underplays that struggle when Dimitri is seen as a 30+ yo man.

Just thought I'd put that hot take out there. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

hey remember when rose hathaway was literally accused of murder and her best defense was that the murder was so poorly done that it couldnt possibly be her work

Adrian when he saw Sydney in her Greek costume at the dance:

not to keep droning on about them but

remember how sydney broke it off with adrian and after a bit of time apart adrian decides that it’s okay if she cant love him back. he understands. but it wont stop him from loving her. he was okay with just loving her anyways.

and remember when they got into a pretty bad fight and not even a day later, the evil witch they’ve been hunting together made sydney’s car explode with foam and she called him up and was like “i know things are bad between us right now but can you help me” and with no hesitation adrian agreed because even when theyre angry at each other and hurting, adrian loves her so much that he would never let an argument put her at risk

their relationship is like. beyond incredible. im still so emo over them yall i cannot get over it.

god remember when sydney and adrian were making out and his fangs accidentally cut her lip just a bit and adrian was like “and i knew in that moment i could have bitten her, and she would have let me” but he DOESNT even though there’s this intrinsic part of him that wants to, because he knows it could be something sydney would regret down the line and he respects and loves her too much to do something she might regret

or how about when he jokingly talks about how the world isnt ready for their children, because  with their brains, good looks, and the natural athleticism of a dhampire, theyd be too awesome and adrian momentarily worries that she’ll be disgusted by the thought of having non-human kids with him, but that worry is dashed away and she speaks about it so nonchalantly and damn he loves her SO MUCH

OH and remember when he’d rescued her from re-education and when they were in that vegas hotel room, sydney wakes up and freaks out because she wakes up in the dark and thinks she’s back there again, but adrian turns on the lights and calms her down and it hurts his heart so much to see her like that, but he tells her he’ll leave the lights on and im pretty damn sure he would sleep with the lights on for the rest of his life if it meant she didn’t have to fear that she was back in re-education

and let’s not forget how when he was in the throes of spirit and he forgot who she was, it was still her fear and worry and familiarity that made him lay off it before he could lose himself to it any further, and then he remembered her and decided right then and there that nothing, not even his magic, was worth forgetting himself or sydney or them and he decides he’ll go back on his mood stabilizers because his love for her is more important than anything (hell, that’s why he went on them the first time)

they’re just. SO GOOD YALL and they love each other so much and care about each other more than anything and it’s jsut so perfect
