Do you remember that little girl? I'm sure you've seen her picture before, but you didn't know her story or what she was suffering from because you hadn't read before.

This is my little girl Ronza, she was born in the war and she is now one year old and her birthday was two weeks ago. She didn't celebrate it either. Ronza suffers from malnutrition and she appealed before.

Today, we had her blood tested, and the result was heartbreaking: 🔴 Hemoglobin level: 7.3 🥺

This is extremely low and means she is suffering from severe anemia that threatens her life.

Under normal conditions, this could be treated.

But here in Gaza…

There is no adequate food

No proper medicine

No functional hospitals

No safety and no means to provide her with basic care

Ronza is suffering from extreme weakness, pale skin, and lack of energy, and she is in urgent need of medical treatment and proper nutrition — simply to survive.

truthfully though when i see people reminisce about the past as if the time we live in is uniquely bad in the grand scheme of things it’s kind of like. beautiful. throughout all of human history people have reminisced about past eras. in the bronze age they reminisced about the stone age, in the iron age/classical era they reminisced about the simplicity of the bronze age (AKA the “heroic age” to the greeks) in the medieval era they reminisced about the roman era, and in the early modern period they reminisced about the medieval era. these are all specifically documented sentiments that i’ve read. romanticizing the past is a deeply human thing to do especially after the invention of recorded history. it’s such a fun perspective to have. that being said this is objectively the best time to be alive for one simple reason: healthcare

I love being highly specific, but like almost throwing darts at random concepts levels of totally judgemental sometimes. it makes insecure people who are absolutely in the in-crowd because of their natural beauty and talent think they're unfuckable monsters. Like the other day I was complaining like "I hate it when people write a funny joke but they have used the word 'moss' or 'mushroom' to denote an incomprehensible or mystical phenomenon taking place- its the poor man's 'eldritch' with none of Lovecraft's genuine mental illness and childhood compulsion/contamination-fear-based avoidance that slowly made him act increasingly racist into adulthood, which was at least a psychological building block in his brand of alien-terror anyway" and this girl who loves that Pinterest shit got sad as fuuuuck like she was like "is that bad? I don't know? Is this wrong? Is it not cool anymore to love moss?" Yes girl. It's wrong because I say it is. And you have to listen to me and take my word for the lord's.
