-- was picked up by the jedi order at a pretty young age. always a trouble maker, known to not follow the rules when he should.  -- was in a crash that killed everyone else on the ship, including his master. the only way for him to be saved was to be replaced with mostly mechanical parts.  -- took over his friend’s position as a jedi master on the council. takes the job seriously, even if everyone thinks he doesn’t?? will do anything for the clones he’s in command of and treats them all like friends n family aaa -- has been mistaken for a droid before, and has absolutely played it off as if he was a droid to sneak in somewhere or to just mess with someone lmao -- doesn’t use a last name? has one, but he’ll never tell u what it is

i wouldn’t say cayde is necessarily superstitious tbh. the ace of spaces, which is a big symbol for him, can be seen as an omen and sign as bad luck, but it can also be seen as a symbol of transformation and can represent having faith in others, forgiveness and unconditional love, which tbh describes his character very well.

035. What is the most important rule your character lives by?

the vanguard dare is the big obvious one, but cayde also has plenty of rules he keeps to himself. the most important one is working for the good of everyone. despite his complaints and jokes about it, he does take being vanguard very seriously. he doesn’t want to just be there for his hunters, but for every single guardian and non-guardian alike. cayde makes a point to make it be known that he’s there to help anyone, anytime. he’s the person you can always, always go to, be it for advice (which, he’s actually pretty good at although he pretends he’s not) or the need for an extra hand in a fight.

i’ll talk about this more later, but cayde ( despite being the disaster he is ) is actually pretty good with people. he knows when to back off and really stop talking, even though it doesn’t seem like it. he’s your friend, and he’ll always be there for you when you need it -- even if it means sneaking off from the tower and prompting a whole lecture from zavala. 

068. How strong is your character’s sense of responsibility? What kinds of things trigger it?

oh it’s extreme lmao. cayde isn’t afraid to take matters into his own hands, and even more unafraid to do dangerous tasks alone. he’ll take any burden he can lift off others. like i said before, he actually takes his duty of vanguard very seriously, and will do anything to help anyone who needs it. if a mission or task goes wrong or fails, he’ll always find a way to blame himself.

-- is a very skilled mechanic!! especially after years of having to repair himself out on the field -- actually really likes just sitting quietly in the company of a friend? like when u just chill w someone and ur not really interacting and doing ur own thing but its just. nice sdfgkdfk -- doesnt sleep much. has the worst sleeping schedule?? a pretty big reason is because when he does sleep, he often gets nightmares that’re bombarded with the pieces of memories he can’t quite make sense of. the only time he really gets a peaceful sleep is when he passes the fuck out from overworking himself -- zavala and ikora both have their own cards in that card system he has -- despite his complaints and what he says about it, the vanguard really gave him something to latch onto and work for. he considers ikora and zavala close friends, despite their differences and clashing opinions.  -- this is a whole other meta i’ll write when im not half asleep but becoming part of the vanguard also really. drove it home that he could be something more?? a lot of his recklessness and ‘i’m not doing as im told’ attitude really stems from him not wanting to follow a path others laid out for him, and choosing his own way. he only has shards of memories, but somewhere he knows he didn’t exactly become an exo or guardian by choice. -- sometimes sneaks off from the tower lmao u can imagine the trouble he’s gotten into  -- numerous times he’s had to call ikora for help and beg her not to tell zavala sgfkdfk -- hes an awful liar. he’ll try. but u can see right through him and he hates it  -- absolutely wears odd socks what’re u gonna do about it
