The next Smurf to be draw in my new style, it's SmurfBlossom!!

Not fully happy with the face shape and the back of her hair (which is why it's up when showing off a concept for the design on thr back of her head), but it is just a quick ref for future art, afterall. I'll figure out all the little things as I draw her more.

More info + headcanons under the cut:

SmurfBlossom is the beefiest of the Smurfy Grove Smurfs. Kind of the Hefty of the girls, except more bubbly and hyperactive. I wanted to draw her club/staff thing from The Lost Village, but I ran out of time and space to do so, but I headcanon that it's had to be magically reinforced cuz Blossom keeps accidentally breaking it.

The flowers in Blossom's fur are real flowers. The Smurfy Grove Smurfs in my au grow and cultivate different plants in their fur as added camouflage. I based it off of the symbiotic relationship between sloths and the algae/moss that'll grow on them sometimes.

The designs on the back of Blossom's head are glow-in-the-dark markings (added via different dyes) that are used for identification and extra protection from nighttime predators. I wanna make it look more like a face next time I draw it. Not all of the girls have dyed patterns, but they still have ways to mimic eyes on the back of their heads via beads or masks that glow in the dark and/or have glow in the dark patterns on them. I'll post more concept art as I draw more of the Smurfy Grove Smurfs.

I want to make both the boy Smurfs and the girl Smurfs pretty similar and androgynous, with only some dimorphic traits. The main dimorphic trait is tail size, as those that were delivered as girls have smaller tails than those that were delivered as boys. I also want for those delivered to the Smurfy Grove to have slightly webbed paws, but I'm not sure what practical purpose it serves yet. More will be developed later on.
