its kinda wild to me that pokemon's devs will make two amazing near open world games at the same time in only 3 years and then be immediately ready to start working on legends z-a which is already looking like one of the best pokemon games, and people will call them lazy bcuz theyre mad about how the visuals look

but then people will praise and adore smash bros when that game literally replaced its main collectible with pngs they took off of google, and has left the returning characters with their same outdated movesets from the n64 and gamecube, but everyone is too busy gargling sakurai's ball sweat and hyping up the disney copyright to care or ever criticize the game ever

my hottest take is that complaining about pokemons visuals is a waste of time when

the games look great especially Z-A and graphics are the least important part of how good a game is

gaming as a whole is almost entirely consumed by games obsessed with realistic visuals that cost millions to put together, create really expensive games, and all look kinda the same and end up aging poorly

instead of gaslighting oneself into thinking Z-A looks bad why not complain about that new monster hunter game literally breaking computers bcuz its so overdetailed but in the end its just obligatory realistic graphics and looks kinda bland tbh

the internet and gaming industry desperately need more whimsy. thank u nintendo and gamefreak for enforcing art direction please never resort to realism

(also realistic graphics dont even look good ngl like games like final fantasy 7's remake or the newest street fighter or pretty much everything sony makes thats not astro bot just look kinda uncanny valley to me. pokemon games look wayyy better tbh)

Its actually fucking insane that Pokemon S/V had "customization" but you were in a uniform with 1 color that you couldn't change and they NEVER UPDATED THAT despite later making a $35 dlc

I want to slap the shit out of parts of the pokemon fanbase sometimes because of how hard y'all will reach to complain and say a game looks bad.

I understood when you said Sword/Shield looked bad.

I understood when you said Legends Arceus looked bad.

I understood when you said Scarlet/Violet looked bad.

But saying Z-A looks bad because buildings look the same is just fucking stupid, IT'S A FUCKING CITY OF COURSE SOME BUILDINGS WILL LOOK THE SAME!

Pokemon Legends Z-A graphics discourse is how I KNOW the graphics bullshit surrounding Pokemon is all performative.

Beautiful, colorful, excellent style, clean graphics, perfect art style for a pokemon game and people are still coming out of the woodworks saying it looks like a GameCube game.

They literally have nothing, NOTHING, to hold on to but still keep saying the same shit over and over as if people don't have eyes.

I'd say a hypothetical about them releasing a pokemon game with perfect graphics and these people still claiming it looks bad, but Z-A literally is that.

Legends Arceus at least had “Ah yes this is how this pokemon used to evolve before modern times” but in ZA it would mean environmental pressures have forced them into new evolutions to adapt to being French
