Drabble Jekira/Arasan tw: body horror, gore, violence

Your eyes are bleary, blood clinging to your eyelashes. It's hard to open them at all and when you finally do, you wish you hadn't. She's tied down to a chair. Your matesprit. The only person who'd ever treated you like you were meant to be alive. Sometimes you'd wondered if you weren't meant just for her.

You clench your hand into a fist, scrapes stinging. You have to get up, save her. There's no strength in your legs, it's futile to even try but you do. You force your left knee up and a sharp pain sends you reeling, breathing harshly through clenched teeth. You don't cry out. You won't let the highblood who did this know you're still fighting.

You see him in your vision now, bruised and narrow as it is, approaching her in the chair. You panic, scrambling against the floor only to end up biting your own hand to muffle your pain. Your leg is broken. You don't want to admit it, don't even want to think it, because that means you can't stand. You can't fight. You can't save her.

The highblood is in front of her now, speaking. You can only just make out the words through the blood pounding in your ears.

“You'd think a jade would know better. That freak should've been culled at birth. Really, I'm doing you a favor.”

“Shut the fuck up! Highbloods like you disgust me! She never asked to be -”

She's cut off when the highblood grasps her jaw, forcing her mouth open. He says something you don't hear, your heart beating a thousand times faster because you know she's about to be hurt. The cold glint of metal as he raises a pair of pliers makes you scream. For all your pain, this is what hurts you the most. You dig your fingers into the ground and try to drag yourself forward. It's not fast enough, not by a long shot.

You feel the rip and pop vibrate through the air as her first tooth is yanked from her gums. She shouts in pain, you moan in anguish. Blood runs over her chin and down her shirt. The next tooth is just as horrible as the first, clean and agonizing for the both of you. You're breaking. You have to save her. You can't. The third tooth is the worst. It snaps in half and you hear her scream as raw nerves pinch and bleed. Your breathing is impossibly loud.

You pass out, darkness consuming you.
