listen....LISTEN!! this is one of the BEST articles/character analysis I have EVER read for veronica. everyone should give this a read especially if you dont care/like veronica.

What’s funny about this is, you never see Betty blamed for her serial killer father’s actions or any other character blamed for a parents’ actions, the argument is only used against Veronica as if she hasn’t been actively trying to stop her father from harming those she loves and the town of Riverdale for the entire series.

exact-fucking-ly. I literally couldn't have said it better. veronica is CONSTANTLY blamed for the actions of her parents and yet, with other characters such as betty, jughead, cheryl practically most of the kids who have shitty parents NEVER face the same consequences. its interesting that everyone thinks veronica (the only woc out of the main 5 characters) should pay for the actions of her parents but for everyone else it's okay because they're not their parents. miss me with that bullshit.

She is also reduced by many to her money, which proves how little some people watch the show. She is one of the only ones, if not the only, in a position where she can help her loved ones and she doesn’t ever hesitate to help, an act that is completely selfless, so why isn’t it seen that way?

good takes after good takes! the amount of people I've seen try to diminish veronica's whole character and relationships by saying she's only used by her loved ones for money is disgusting. and its not by just the fandom but the writers too (I'm not forgetting evan's tasteless and unfunny joke about the firefighting plot). it's completely disgusting and the lack of respect she gets from the fandom that is ENCOURAGED by the writers is not only frustrating but ugly asf. how many times has veronica given up her money to help betty or jughead or the serpents? how many times has she invested in the town with said money? joke all you like but a lot of your faves would be broke and in a lot of trouble if it wasnt for veronica and her money. NEXT!

Veronica deserves her own storyline during the time jump, one that is actually new. And before anyone says it, she should be able to be in a relationship AND have her own storyline — it shouldn’t have to be one or the other. The whole fake care act some people preach, saying they want Veronica to be single so she can finally get her own storyline is so frustrating. If Betty can get both then Veronica deserves the same treatment. She should be able to be with Archie and still get a real, leading storyline.

AGAIN, another fact. this fandom, and the b*rchies in particular have used this whole "strong woman" argument against veronica and archie's relationship for MONTHS! I'm sick of it. it is the definition and peak of white feminism. why can't women of colour be strong and independent leading ladies and ALSO have someone at their side who loves and cares for them and is willing to lend a hand if it's needed (and don't even try twisting my words cuz no, veronica does not NEED a man but she deserves to have the luxury of wanting one), why is that woc have to be strong in times of need or face their traumas on their own but for the white girls they're allowed to be damsels in distress and can be saved by the guy? its 2021, women can be strong and independent AS WELL as having a man who loves them. it's that simple. (and this is not just for riverdale but for any show where we have women of colour)

No one’s telling you that you have to like every character or ship the popular ship, but focusing on the ones you do like instead of creating a false narrative around the ones you don’t would be so much more beneficial.

and finally, this one is not just about veronica alone as it works for any character. but I am TIRED of people who don't like veronica (archie too!) or don't care enough to actually understand her character and scenes create these false narratives in their heads and create the WORST takes about characters they claim to not like. please don't go around giving your luke warm takes on a character who's storylines you can't even REMEMBER to make an argument against so you make something else. it ends up falling flat. focus on the things you like and know. stick to the status quo...I promise you it'll make yours and everyone else's fandom experience a thousand times better!
