it's possibly gotten a lil less noticeable bc one of my partners who played Kimimaro a while back isn't on their Kimimaro blog anymore (haven't seen them on their Korekiyo blog in a minute either tbh), I don't believe my main Tayuya is around anymore, and Shorp who plays Kidoumaru is lower activity these days I believe

if you're looking to reread my old threads and stuff, gosh ... uhhhh I think the peak of Sound Village and Naruto stuff in general when I was writing a lot of it was like, maybe 3-4 years ago ? possibly a little earlier than that

atm the main interactions for Sound Village stuff I have are with @kimimarothechosenvessel's Kimimaro and anyone who plays w me thru anons (tho I believe @anarchyhorde is gonna be adding Kimimaro to their blog if they haven't already, unless I'm mistaken dfjadlkfkal forgive me I haven't been here in a BIT-)

but like !! the good news is Sakon, Ukon, Juugo, and Hitomi are some of the muses I have the highest desire to write when I am here so ... it's just a matter of me being on here more and then also finding others who either play different Sound Village muses or would want to play with my Sound babies or just wanna give me random asks to write them

Has the year been hard ? Yes, things have been difficult. But that isn't going to stop Elsa from doing her annual Christmas concert. This is one tradition that won't die no matter what. All of Japan is watching, and ... well, all of the world is probably watching. As always, she wants to be an example and an inspiration.

This year, it's going to embody everything she holds dear and everything she thinks is important to being a hero. Not just a professional hero ; a hero in heart, in the everyday things.

When the music begins, it's a soft piano. The stage is dark, and Elsa sits knelt in the middle of it with only a soft white glow around her. Her features are barely even visible, only a silhouette. There are screens up in the background, pure white at first as she vocalizes the first few notes.

Then she starts to sing.

It's one of the first songs that she released officially. Something that shows her true beliefs, that comes from her heart.

As she sings, the screens behind and above light up with photos. It's not some egotistical slideshow ; it's a montage of photos of the people she loves. Sometimes with her, and sometimes on their own as if those specific pictures are precious to Elsa.

There's a picture someone must have taken of her and Lo during a rescue, both looking tired but fulfilled to be doing what they're doing. A snapshot of Jin, during one of his days of work at her agency, sitting behind a desk with another employee training him on the phones, and both are smiling. A family photo of Elsa with her sister Anna, her brother-in-law Kristoff, and her nephew Askel, taken in Norway in front of the same rocking chair where Elsa and Anna's mother used to rock them to sleep. A series of photos of Elsa and Hawks taken from the set of a talk show where they're hugging while wearing each other's knockoff merch.

In between the break of music and the final verse, there's even a short video clip, edited for the volume to be a bit louder, of Renata working at her agency. She's tying up Shuichi's hair, seemingly after a long session of some therapy or a bad morning or something, as they talk about something that's unclear.

The most impactful part of the clip consists of Shuichi side-eyeing whoever is behind the camera, followed by Renata ruffling his hair and beaming at the camera, ' Look at my beautiful boy, sabes que ? He is maybe a little different, but Dios mío, he's so incredible. '

After all the pictures fade from the screens, a black background stays. The words ' WE STAND. ' scroll across in Japanese, English, and Norwegian.

And in a move that is perhaps ill-advised and that she knows will make her controversy worse, Elsa stands up. She stays in shadow, and lifts her hand up ; a single spotlight illuminates her palm. There across her palm is a recent but healed tattoo, consisting of a snowflake at first glance.

Inside the snowflake, however, is a star with the kanji for ' port '. Within Japan, this is the symbol for a person of privilege, usually a hero, who displays that they are a safe place for villains or struggling people who need help. Often those who use this symbol are painted as villain sympathizers or derided for giving sanctuary to truly horrible people. But heroes and civilians who want to make a difference and acknowledge that there's more to villains than bad people are starting to take this symbol back.

The last verse rings out with Elsa's hand still raised above her head, displaying this symbol for the world to see. She is a safe place. As a friend told her, she's a ' good hero '. And even though it shouldn't be a contradiction, sometimes it is. Despite knowing the backlash she'll get for it, both because of the way Japanese culture tends to view tattoos and because of the symbol itself, she holds her hand high. Any cost to her can be borne.

This is who she is. This is what she stands for. More people should stand for it. That's the message she wants to send : I am a safe place for those in need, and if you can be, then you should be too.

I was off work for two and a half weeks after surgery and then about a week and a half after I got back to work I got Covid and I'm FINALLY almost 100 % from that

five more days and I'm finally off light duty

I've had a rough couple weeks in general, but the cherry on top is that I'm currently sitting in the ER waiting to be transferred to another hospital because I've got appendicitis and I need surgery either tonight or tomorrow, ASAP

I woke up with pain in my stomach on the right side and middle and thought it was just a pulled muscle but it wasn't getting better so I had a bad feeling and, welp. :')

I haven't had surgery since I was in high school 12 years ago so I'm really scared but I'll keep you guys updated when I'm out

BUT ANYWAY I promise I will be around at some point this week, likely after Thursday but maybe sooner !! my doctor put me on a new preventative med for migraines which is also used for epilepsy and while I'm cautiously optimistic I wanna make sure I'm not experiencing any of the more nasty side effects before I try to be too social or focus too much on stuff (so far so good but today was only my second dose so *fingers crossed)

BELLUM. GUYSSSS MY FIRST SAKURACO BOX CAME TODAY

I'm trying to eat healthier but this is my motivation omg I love Japanese snacks so much I had to try a few already, these are to replace the urge to buy chips and candy and fast food and premade meals, THESE ARE MY REWARD FOR EATING HEALTHY THE REST OF THE MONTH

unsure if I will be able to eat the mini shrimp tempura (I LOVE shrimp but the last time I had it about ten years ago it made my mouth feel funny, like not a full blown allergic reaction but enough that it made me paranoid, I MAY try these shrimp tempura or I may just give them to a friend at work who was interested in seeing the box as a whole)

BUT I should be good with everything else

I'm gonna cry these things are amazing, highly recommend if you like Japanese snacks ... the founders offer several different types of boxes and the SakuraCo box is traditional snacks from local artisans, it's a little pricey but tbh worth it especially if you just do a single month (... I might do another or I might switch my subscription to try a different type of box huehue ... the shipping is BRUTAL tho but I think I can swing it at least for a couple months)

this month's theme was Festivals of Tohoku and I am SO blown away

so far my favorite thing has been ... either a tie between the apple cream senbei cookie or the miruru ... but the pear gummies are also like. freakin life changing oh my GOD I LOVE PEARS

the SakuraCo box also comes with a piece of kitchenware, and the one I got was a STINKIN CUTE kitchen towel with kitties ! plus there's a booklet all about the theme which also lists allergy info and descriptions for all the snacks

like as u can see, she's changed a bit from the past, usually wears her hair up now, has put on a bit of weight, dresses more casually and never really wears her old hero costume unless she's showing someone her calavera mask (that she is completely in love with)

but

she was happy back then doing what she was doing, and she's happy now doing what she's doing
