Tetra can’t help but break into a small smile as Aryll speaks, the girl’s tone bright, but slightly nervous as well. She’s such a sweet girl.

The pirate captain found that she apparently had a soft spot for young kids during the brief amount of time that Link’s sister had been onboard her ship. Of course, Aryll had been a bit more secluded at times, but still.

“Well, bein’ a pirate isn’t all fun an’ games. There’s a bunch o’ challenges out on th’ sea that most islanders don’t really need t’ worry ‘bout. Big Octos, fer instance. Those blasted squid show 'emselves at the worst times. Thankfully, yer seagull friends normally warn us when there’s one 'round,” Tetra winks at Aryll, “An’ as fer bein’ a princess… I don’t know much,” she confesses, “'Tis a title that I didn’ know I had 'till recently, an’ I still don’t really get it.”

She honestly was still trying to grasp what being descended from royalty truly meant. One of the things she did know was that responsibility was one of the greater aspects of it, and even though she was definitely capable of that(she was the captain of a pirate ship, after all), it still made the teen a little uncomfortable.

“Also, ya were technically a pirate fer awhile back there, remember?” Tetra adds, “I’m still a bit impressed with how well ya did.”

——  ◍ Challenges ?? Aryll could take a challenge or two !! Small fists curl up in defiance, believing Tetra to be dismissing her —— the compliment to her seagulls visibly relaxes her posture, however; she returns to a relaxed state of rapt attention.

“I was a pirate... ??” The girl bites her lip, trying very hard to remember. It only takes her a couple of seconds before a smile spreads across her face. “I was a pirate !! Can i be a pirate again ??!!” She adopts the doe eyes all young children know, the ones that are hard to refuse (not that Tetra would refuse anyways, right ?? Aryll is a capable young islander. She can even wield a telescope, for goddess’ sake !!)

That WAS impressive. What a big bird it deemed to be. He’s just glad the bird didn’t fly off with her…that would be a bad episode to replay. She could be exaggerating on how big this seagull actually was but given the track record, he’s believing her.

      The older blonde’s head shake upon the inquiry. No seagull he’s ever seen has been claimed to be that pudgy. What in the world did it eat?

   Twilight hues flicker down at the weapon in his hands. The poor thing had it’s string snapped after multitude of use. Rest in peace, you will be missed.

      ❝ Just fixing my bow. I kinda used it too much and the string snapped on me during a bit of target practice…wanna help clean it after I get a new string on? ❞

—— ◍ A smug smile paints Aryll’s face when it’s confirmed she saw the biggest bird on the whole Great Sea. Well— sure, maybe Link just forgot, but the one she saw was definitely the biggest. 

Aryll looks at the bow, too — she’s no expert, but it certainly looks loved, perhaps a bit too much. She’s always wanted to wield a sword, but the bow seems appealing too !! And it would be cool to help her brother do something !! 

“I’ll help you !!” She gently places the feather inside her telescope and sets it on the ground, giving it a stern glare so it doesn’t get any ideas and roll away. “How do you do it ??”

It’s a few seconds before Tetra feels someone’s gaze on her. She blinks open an eye and spots Aryll looking at her. What was the girl doing out here? Wasn’t she hanging out with Link?

“‘Ey, Aryll,” Tetra greets, “What are ya doin’ outside? It’s a beautiful day an’ all, but don’t ya know Link’s visitin’?”

——  ◍ Tetra is nice, Aryll. You can talk to her !! Despite her internal encouragement, the girl only manages a small shake of the head as she holds her telescope closer, rubbing the glass with her thumb.

“I know !! I want to talk to — to Tetra,” she eventually manages, after a period of mustering up the energy. “I want to be a pirate princess !! Teach me !!”

     The same old cheery voice calling out his title as a sibling makes his ears perk. The activity of adjusting the string on his trusty bow was put on a pause as his attention was now piqued to his little sister. Head glances up to her from his spot on the ground and emits a questioning hum.

   ❝ Oh wow! Look at that! ❞

     That was one impressive feather! Must have been a big bird that dropped it. Getting to witness it before his sister might misplace it was an exciting moment.

  ❝ How fat was that bird? Seems a lot bigger than a regular gull’s feathers. ❞

—— ◍ The girl is very careful to keep her tight grip on the feather as she spreads her arms as far out as they can go. “This fat !! He squawked at me, too !!” She imitates the familiar sound of a seagull’s call, grinning as she does so.

Smile widens as Aryll puts on a childish face of challenge, hands resting on her hips. “Did you ever see a seagull that big, Big Brother ?? I bet you didn’t !!” She has a collection of seagull feathers under the porch where the wind won’t knock them away. Should she go there now, or see what Link is doing ?? Maybe he can teach her how to shoot a bow... !! Like a Hero !! 

Focused on this new train of thought, the young islander asks; “What are you doing, Big Brother ??”
