I think one of the most painful, ostracising parts of this era in history is that you can't be polite, transparent and kind without people being fearful of that as alterior motive, and I think that's sad. That we've all just been done wrong so much, we can't trust good when it's shown without suspicion.

The world is in a bad place, but there are still genuinely well-meaning people in it. I promise there are. I'd rather believe in the good someone has right off than suspect them weaponizing it.
