i’m re-reading parts of TVC and I just love how Lestat is almost always incapable of getting through a conversation with Louis without a) getting distracted by his incredible beauty or enchanting mannerisms, b) thinking the most gorgeous poetic musings about the depth and intensity of his eternal love and passion for Louis, and/or c) resisting the urge to touch him excessively. Louis makes him so scatterbrained, he’ll be like ‘pay attention Lestat we have a narrative to drive forward’ and staring enraptured heart eye emoji Lestat will be like ‘can I smell you’

it's incredibly crazy that the vampire chronicles books exist in their own canon. it's even crazier that obviously the versions we get and read are not actually the books as they exist in-universe. first off, iwtv is not actually first-person. it's third-person. daniel made a book from the account we get in third person in iwtv. secondly, as, for example, armand mentions, names are changed (he mentions that sybelle and benjamin's names will certainly be changed if it ever is printed). blood & gold includes sections that simply have no way to be in any book version since they require thorne's lone pov. so we know, for example, lestat read blood & gold (since he says so), but we also know the blood & gold he read is different than the blood & gold we read.

but like even the admission that they change things for print (Pandora has this also, to a lesser extent) begs the question of how much is lying for obscurity and how much is their regular lying

Hey wow so you know how Sokka loses all his weapons over the course of the series (not just his boomerang and space sword in the final episode, but also his spear, machete, club…) and how he slowly leans into working as the group’s planner? You ever think about how he physically and literally loses the ideals that were keeping him tied to seeing his worth in the war, and began to see himself as his own person who could survive this war & live in a better world? How he let go of his toxic masculinity and started to embrace himself as he was, but he had to use those weapons in his own creative, non-destructive way, and eventually he lost them entirely? How he helped the war effort through creation, by making plans & traps & inventions & armor, not by destroying things? You ever think about how he replaced his sword with a paintbrush in the final scene? You ever… you ever…
