i’d love to cosplay her but i also wanna know what other people picture her as so it’s possible to embody her more than just what she’s canonically wearing

unfortunately i dont have any pictures of my full cosplay because i’ve never had all the pieces together at the same time (and i don’t love the overalls i have… i want something longer and probably darker blue but man overalls that aren’t a bajillion dollars are hard to come by) but

i also would like to do more interesting overalls (ones with some kind of pattern or embroidery would be super cute and jesse-like) but these are the ones i have for now 😭 anyway this is what mine looks like if that helps!!!

the only one that i really don’t like is Patton Oswalt. i think partially because in comparison to Catherine Taber, who portrays Jesse so well, his reading just falls flat. (side note: i don’t like either of them as people, but as far as talent and portrayal of the character go, Taber is clearly superior.)

the only other gripe that i really have with acting in the game is that sometimes Natasha Loring’s reading of Olivia feels a little awkward, but she also had the unfair advantage of playing the character after Martha Plimpton’s voice was so solidified in our perception of the character. i do wish that they had found someone who sounded a little more similarly to Plimpton. but that said, there are times when i can really hear Loring mimicking Plimpton’s inflections, and it does sometimes feel like she’s just the same old Olivia with a higher voice. personally i just like to think she’s trans and between season 1 and 2 received voice feminization surgery or something lmao

imo people are too harsh on Radar’s voice 😭 i thought it fit him perfectly! it’s got that slightly shrill quality of someone who’s wound a little too tight, but it’s still endearing lol. but you are right op that it’s surprising how many people dislike the voice acting in the game. i think it’s fantastic!

I'm surprised at how many people don't like the games' voice acting. I thought it was great! Especially for the medium the VAs had to insert themselves in. The cast had a lot of big-names and some people I never heard of until this game, but they did amazing too.

I can sorta understand for Patton Oswalt, though... I dunno why, his voice kinda irks me but I don't HATE it? It's just he's absolutely everywhere somehow (in live-action AND animation, like he's in The Ghost and Molly McGee HOW did you even get in there) and I keep thinking about Jesse when I hear him >,> Axel's voice (Brian Posehn) is also comically deadpan, even in situations where it's unfitting, but that's just how the VA sounds. I find it charming, honestly.

But if there's one voice I truly dislike in MC:SM though, it's Radar's. A little too high-pitched and hyper sometimes. Considering Yuri Lowenthal's other roles, I wish they choose a slightly different direction...

What about everyone else? What did you guys not like about it?

headcanoning petra as a lesbian just seems kind of.... stereotypical to me...

like you see a butch female character and go

it just feels kind of wrong 2 me. some people I've met have yelled at me about her being strictly lesbian and it makes me go ewwyy because why is every butch character lesbians 2 u.
