 The name of this project is “animation cut”. This was an individual project, and it was basically an animation we had to made with our own characters, environment and sounds. As a designer and as an artist I was trying to make a story people would like or find funny, and choosing the right characters and sounds were crucial for this. This project is fun for everyone because who doesn’t like videos right? They’re entertaining and because of the talent everyone has in this class, it was the best project so far. We had the opportunity to create something that was complete but short. I used tools such as freesound.com to find sound effects and music, and the tools given by After effects to make your characters move to give life to the animation. I am proud of how well I got to transmit my story through this animation, and how the sounds I picked adapted to the visual part of my animation. It was difficult to learn how to use after effects at the beginning, but once you knew how to work your way through, you could do twice as much work in one period. What I would change for next time, would be also having more time and making a better animation now that I know how to use Illustrator and After effects very well.

 The name of this project is “film festival poster”, this was a group project. This project was used to present a movie in one single picture, being a poster, we had to represent what happened in the film briefly by using items and people in it. As a designer in this project I wanted to be professional and do everything to exact precision taking in count this was going to be seen by hundreds of people in the festival. This project creates the effect of visually representing what happens in the film “tomato”. In this project I used assets such as text and text form and design to make the credits. Im proud of this project because as a group we got to see the final product in the arts center, and seeing other people look at it as well. Also this felt like it was more important and special, because it was for other people. What was difficult to do on this project was t figure out the structure this poster would have, and organizing the group together to make this poster. If i do this kind of project some other time in the future I would like to take more time with it, and make it look very nice. Because we had two weeks to finish this, we could not show our full potential.

The name of this project was “logo design”, being an individual project, this logo represented your imagination and who you are by having a symbol with your initials. As a designer I was trying to give my logo life, so it was more than a 2d logo. I did this by giving it a shade by using gradient, and giving it brightness with the transformer tool. I am proud of how the eyes turned out to be realistic and impressing, this was possible because of the small details that I contributed into it. What was difficult in this project was to figure out what you wanted to do, because it is supposed to represent you with your initials, and that was important to me. next time I would spend more time on a project like this and think it through more.

The name of this project was Design Movement. This was a group project that consisted of making a themed piece of art that was similar to the art movement that was assigned to you. In my case it was pop art. As a designer I was trying to make something creative and different and at the same time follow Roy Lichtenstein’s style of abstract art work. The effect this project makes on audience is the interest to solve the puzzle and put the pieces together to make this abstract face look normal. For this project I used assets to make elements and principles be more noticeable such as shape line and color, which are the main elements. And Pattern which is the main principle. To make this project in Illustrator, the pen tool was my best friend. To make something like this the pen tool is really precise to make curves and lines like the lips and hair in my project. What I’m proud of in this project is how the final result looked, I think it might be my best project yet and I put a lot of work into it. What was difficult was to decide on which tools and how to make my drawing into an Illustrator design. What I would do differently next time would be making a more detailed abstract type of form.

The name of this project was pomotype, this individual project’s goal was to make an art drawing using only text and colors. This was a very interesting way to make art in illustrator and this project was all about picking a poem and making the words a picture at the same time, per example if it was about the sky you would draw a beautiful sky with words. What I was trying to do as a designer in this project was to make things look realistic and fun to look at using line, shapes and paths. The effect of this project in an audience was to see the different colors that make up trees flowers and mountains following the meaning of the poem. I created trees, flowers, a sun and a sky by using the type path tool, this tool in illustrator lets you make any shape with a sentence word or any type of writing you want. I also used this to make some elements such as shape and line. In this project I was proud of how the different sized of trees and distance items looked and how it gave it a perspective. To make this I simply made a tree smaller and put it in a further mountain. What was difficult about this project was the introduction of a new program and new tools that are sometimes hard to use. What I would do differently next time would be practicing with this new tool and get used to it to make a better project that has a beautiful word picture such as this.

The name of this project was Rise & Grind, it was an individual project meant to be a poster for an activity with coffee and pastries. Here, you had to make a design that worked for the client’s specific demands and had to include each piece of information inside the poster. What I was trying to do as a designer was to think about what people would like and would pay attention at. Because you have to empathize on other people and think like you are in their skin to get the best results. I also focused on showing some elements such as value, texture and space. This project is perfect for Play audience because of the “bro-fist” and “hangout” kind of environment that this poster transmits. Elements like value made the poster look simpler and better and space was well divided to give it that perfect dividing. I used shade to make it look more 3D by using Gradient, it is a really useful tool that helps with each piece of a poster look better. Some other tools I used were text warping to make the tex look abstract and I also used the best photoshop tool ever. The pen tool is a must have for almost any type of project, and for this one specifically it was really useful. Im proud of the little doodle coffee and muffin in the middle saying “we make a great team, come try us”kind of theme. This was really simple to make and it looked great, I only had to use the pencil tool and draw arms and legs. Little things like these can make a project look a lot better. At the end of this project it was difficult to let go, because you always think of what could be better and if the sacks of cocoa work better than other things. This is something that makes you struggle and be unconfident about a project. What I would do differently next time would be using more advanced techniques and a variety of new tools to improve my skill in photoshop.
