every so often the discourse comes around again that basically boils down to “is it feminist for a woman to want men to be attracted to her” and it’s like. no, it’s not. it’s also not anti feminist. it’s not relevant. it’s nothing. a woman wanting to have sex with men has nothing to do with feminism. being a lesbian or celibate is not “more feminist” than being a straight woman. the point was always “women should not have to dress in a way that is attractive to men solely in order to be acknowledged by them at all” not “women should never dress in a way that is attractive to men for any reason.” sometimes a woman wants men to want to have sex with her. that’s not anti feminist. that’s average. it’s also not feminist just because it’s her choice to do it. it is not related. feminism is about women’s human rights. that doesn’t mean it’s a feminist act every time a woman makes a choice.

Someone with a disability does something that they know is painful. But it's okay, because they're only doing it once. They don't want to miss out on it 100%, they can handle the pain once in a while, and they have a chance to recharge after it. They know that they can always stop if it ends up being more painful than expected. They could also be experimenting to see how different circumstances affect their pain. They also don't complain, because they don't want to make a big deal out of it.
Someone who witnesses them do it immediately assumes that they "can". Even if they've seen consistent evidence of the disability, they forget that the struggle ever existed and start expecting it like it's nothing.

btw if you’re fat and your partner doesn’t love you wholeheartedly, if they’re attracted to you “despite” your body, if they avoid touching you, if they look away from certain parts of you, you’re allowed to break up with that person. look at me. you can do better. you are not unloveable and you don’t have to settle i fucking promise.

Invisible Kisses
Jack Griffin(the invisible man) x plus-sized s/o. Requested by anon. I decided not to make it so angsty after all, but it has lots of fluff. Hope you like it!!
“Good morning, darling.” A soft voice whispered in your ear. You smiled as you felt a pair of arms wrap around you underneath the blankets.
“Mhmm, good morning.” You yawned, turning to face your boyfriend, Jack, ready to see his smiling face and gleaming eyes. But when you turned around you looked into nothingness. It startled you for a moment, but then you realized why. He was invisible and it was all very strange and new, something that you both understood would take some adjustment. It was almost like talking to an imaginary friend sometimes.
“What’s the matter?” He asked, noticing the startled expression on your face. “Nothing.” You lie, quickly placing a kiss where you hoped his lips would be. Luckily for you, you were right.
You felt the bed shift next to you as Jack got out of bed, tossing the blankets aside as he went. You sat up, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. You heard his footsteps creaking on the floorboards heading towards the closet and then moments later the doors swung open, a faint shuffling emanating from within as he carefully decided what to wear. You see him slowly start to dress up, placing layer after layer over his invisible body. You just wish you could see him. You missed seeing Jack’s handsome face so much, you longed for the day he would finally come up with the cure.
After a moment or two, you stretch and follow suit heading towards the closet to pick out your own outfit.
“Wait a moment, my dear. I got you a present.” He said, stopping you. You hear some more shuffling and then a box hovers out of the closet, held by invisible hands.
“You didn’t think I’d forgotten your birthday, did you?” He said. You could almost picture the expression on his face and the glimmer in his eye. You knew him so well.
“You might not have forgotten, but I almost did.” You joke, taking the box.
He chuckles as you sit down on the edge of the bed and pull open the box, revealing a bright blue dress. It was simple, but you loved it all the same. In fact, you were going to wear that to work today.
“I love it!” You exclaim, hugging the dress.
“I knew you would!”
You could barely contain your excitement as you put it on. After putting it on, Jack scoops up your hand and twirls you around. “You look lovely, my dear.” Jack said, kissing your neck.
You look back in the mirror and bite your lip, suddenly feeling self-conscious. You were always nervous about the way new clothes made you look. It didn’t help that some of the girls at work would tease you about your weight. Especially, Abby, who was a pretty, thin, blonde. She was pretty enough to be an actress you thought, too bad her personality didn’t match her looks.
“What’s wrong?” He asks, wrapping his arms around you once more. You weren’t sure what to say. You didn’t want to sound unappreciative. You really loved the dress, and especially more so because he picked it out.
“Y/N?” He asks again, calling your attention back to him.
“You don’t think it makes me look…fat?” You say in a small, unsure voice.
“Of course not! You know what? I don’t care and neither should you.” Jack exclaims, kissing your forehead.
“Sometimes I wish I could be invisible like you.” You sheepishly say.
“Don’t say that. I think you are perfect just the way you are.” He said, running his hands along your hips and pulling you closer. “I love every inch of you…”
“Oh really?”
“I can prove it to you.” He whispered in your ear, as he softly trickles his hand down your thigh, placing a delicate kiss on your neck, making you shudder.
“I just put this dress on, now you want me to take it off?” You say, jokingly pushing him away, but he just tugs you back.
“This’ll be my second birthday present to you.”
“As much as I want to, Jack, I have to get to work.” You say seriously, pulling away. You could sense him pouting as you head towards the door.
“Oh, and I wouldn’t worry about Abby giving you a hard time.” He calls out after you.
“Why?”
“Just a feeling.” He answers.
You stop in your tracks and turn to face him. “What did you do?” You ask.
“Let’s just say, she’ll be too concerned about her own appearance to even bother with your’s.” You honestly didn’t know how you felt about that. On one hand, you would feel bad if he did anything. But on the other you couldn’t wait to see.
Before you could say anything else, Jack quickly plants another quick kiss on your lips and pushes you out the door. Something didn’t feel right, but you ignored it and continued on your way to work.
It was almost lunch time, you sat at your desk typing when suddenly, a big gust of wind blows the window open…but there was no wind. Was it Jack? You wonder as you sat there waiting for something to happen. Suddenly, you hear a shriek coming from across the room. You look over and see Abby standing up, her sandwich on top of her head, mustard leaking down the side of her face. She got so excited that she ended up tipping her inkwell over on her lap, staining her skirt.
“What happened?” A couple girls asked, trying to calm her down while the others just laughed.
“I…I don’t know!” She shrieked. “I was taking out my sandwich when something snatched it away from me and shoved into my hair!” She explained hysterically.
“Sandwiches just don’t land in people’s hair, Abby.” A girl wearing a grey outfit said, her hands on her hips.
“This one did!” Abby insisted.
“Why don’t you just calm down and clean yourself up.” One of the lead secretaries said. Abby went to sit down, but then her chair was pulled out from underneath her, making her fall to the floor with a thud.
You snort and bite your lip trying not to laugh. You felt bad, but you just couldn’t resist. At least no one was laughing or making fun of you for now. She had it coming. Suddenly, you hear a voice whisper to you. “Happy birthday!” It was Jack. You chuckle to yourself and shake your head. You would deal with him later, but for now, you just enjoyed yourself and went on with your lunch undisturbed. Having an invisible boyfriend did have some perks after all.
